  1. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. But yes.
  2. I did, we had breakfast there and went back another day for the key lime pie with the mile high meringue. We loved it. They’ve pretty much always had the wine and beer with lunch and dinner, or the Prestige package. That could change but I doubt it. If you find nothing to your liking on the GDR menu I would recommend the Rotisserie Chicken. It’s one of my favorites.
  3. Also for me it's determined whether we are on a small private tour or a bus full of people.
  4. Well, unless you're over 10 cruises, then you're not that happy with it. Now we're paying for something we were already getting for no additional cost.
  5. Don't forget Grand Mariner and Vanilla souffles. We love that they have a daily souffle.
  6. Check your invoice. Let's see if this will work. 181 days or more prior to departure $150.00 per person 180 to 151 days prior to departure $500.00 per person 150 to 121 days prior to departure 25% of full fare 120 to 91 days prior to departure 50% of full fare 90 to 61 days prior to departure 75% of full fare 60 days or less prior to departure 100% of full fare
  7. You do realize that is an Oceania release that is comparing them to the upper Mass Market lines? So yes, Oceania management and marketing do consider them their competition. I've been reading this forum for a while, and it's my perception that in the last 15 years(since I've cruised them) most of the customers coming to Oceania are moving up from Princess, Hal, Celebrity etc., not moving down from Seabourne, Silversea, Regent, Crystal etc. You do see posts and meet those onboard that cover the spectrum. Oddly enough I've met a lot of people over the years that go on Oceania as their first cruise.
  8. That is the press release line. Do you really think that's the truth? The program lasted a year, yes there were complaints, but bookings are up. I think the real reason is onboard spending is down. Why buy a nice bottle of wine for $50-$100 when you can drink passable wine included? Why buy champagne when I can have it with lunch? And so it goes...........
  9. It sounds like maybe Oceania is cutting back on commissions to agencies. If so that might affect what you're getting. Let us know if it changes.
  10. Interesting that they are inviting you to the Regular party for Repeaters. I guess since you're in the Vista suite you were invited. Lately they have been having a party for first timers also. Anyhow, I can not tell a lie, we go for the free drinks. That probably doesn't appeal to you, but it's generally a fun little party.
  11. Thanks, without that information someone might think it was another instance of this happening on Oceania.
  12. The string quartet music is not my cup of tea. They sounded fine as I walked by.
  13. I don't pay a lot of attention to the left side of the menu with the Wine Pairing, but isn't there some wines that are not on the By the Glass menu?
  14. Has Riviera or Marina changed where you eat in a PH since the refurb? I know Marina probably didn't. These are the ships with room issues for eating in the PH. I don't really know the setup in Vista.
  15. Disadvantages would be, lack of room to spread things out, maybe not quite as warm as it would be in the restaurant. Minor issues.
  16. On another thread I had mentioned that the String quartets always seem to be females. Others pointed out that is not always the case. So, the group on Nautica, Amadeus, were all male. Might have been the first time I've seen an all male String quartet on Oceania.
  17. Now Jim, we know that the bulk of the people waiting is in the other direction of that picture. 🤠 On a related topic. I've never had a poached egg on carbonara, but I love the carbonara in Toscana, and I love poached eggs, especially on Eggs Benedict, so I'm pretty sure I'd like it on carbonara.
  18. I learned as a young man that "fair" is the thing they have in the middle of the summer with rides and people that will take your money away from you. I may look and act slow, but I'm really not. Since then, I've always kept my distance from the "fair". To stay on topic, I never have trouble eating early, no later than 7:30, usually 6:30, even with booking the cheap seats, as long as we're willing to share. It's the rigid, "I've got to have a 2 top" mindset that creates the issue. My advice to those folks is to fork out the bucks and book a room that gets early booking, if it's that important to you. But Seriously Folks, quit trying to change the system, just work in the framework.
  19. Are you speaking of embarkation day or a port day? Definitely makes a difference.
  20. Wish we could be there but I’ve got a 3 week set of treatments that started yesterday. Otherwise we would have been there. Enjoy the party. It will be my Bday on the second day of your cruise. Say hi to your mean husband for me.
  21. That is the old menu. There's some of the new one floating around here somewhere.
  22. I'm really enjoying your report. It makes me realize that for some of us that have been on Oceania regularly might tend to take certain things for granted, and when presented through the eyes of one new to the line make me appreciate it more. Glad you're enjoying Regatta, it's one of our favorites. If you're liking it, I think you'll really enjoy the larger ships.
