  1. Thx! Interesting trade in pricing: 75 min (4-6 day cruises) is $60. 150 min is $100. 250 min (old promo plan) was $125. 300 min is $200 For you, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the unlimited plan outright with Platinum discount instead trading in the promo minutes?
  2. I upgraded to unlimited. $60 trade in value for the 75min promo. So day 2-5 is (4days x $30) - $60 is $60. Paid for by my $400 casino obc. Haven't had a problem surfing but I've been connected continuously. Also, cruise critic forum is free. Don't need to use minutes. Just need to be connected to ship wifi
  3. If the cruise is 12+ days, you get 300min/person from the promo. (https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions) Anyone know how much is the trade in value towards the unlimited package?
  4. someone posted in facebook the Bermuda ship docking schedule for the week. the royal ship leaves our assigned dock at 3pm. why can't we dock at 3;30pm instead of 5:30pm?
  5. . we basically lost a port. getting in at 5;30pm is mostly useless. hopefully they will explain why they canceled Norfolk for a 5:30pm docking at bermuda. ie: they had to cancel norfolk for unforeseen reason and instead of slow sailing towards bermuda, ncl thought making the best of the situation by arriving a little early for an overnight and hopefully the ship casino is open that night.
  6. ncl.com, not onboard the ship. can do multiple ncl.com purchases to add up to $1000
  7. Do you have the menu for all the items at the Food Hall?
  8. interesting.. I thought pier 88 and 90 were NCL piers. i guess if no ncl ships, they'll rent it out
  9. Read that Royal is changing out ALOT of slots in the casinos for the whole fleet. Anyone see 'Ultimate X Bonus Streak' put in? If so, which ship?
  10. I keep hearing stories about Medivac off a ship costing $10k+ if not in US waters. (US Coast Guard does not charge for Medivac) If you have been Medivac off a ship, how much did it cost you? and where were you? (Which country Medivac you)
  11. then why do i keep hearing that medivac outside of US waters costs $10k+? baseless rumor that keeps spreading?
  12. i know US coast guard wont charge for medivac rescue. but bahamas or bermuda wont charge me for medivac???
  13. i asked TripInsuranceStore if Geoblue covers Medivac off a cruise ship? their rep Deanna copy/pastes Geoblue's policy back to me via email. W T F? That's of no help to me at all
  14. how does the new food court work? just show up and hope the restaurant you want to eat at has a seat available? what if it doesnt? is there a hostess for each restaurant? will they put your name on a waiting list and give you a beeper?
  15. Just put chiefMateJerk on ignore. Most of his posts are negative and add nothing to the conversation
  16. ahh.. thx for the explanation for Teppanyaki in that they finally gave it a name for the style of restaurant. My bad about palamar and ocean blue. from the description, thought they were the same. didnt know completely different menus. Yeah, why rename Garden Cafe when they've been consistent throughout? At least with O'Sheenan's, there was a logical reason why it was renamed to The Local on newer ships. (O'sheenan was no longer CEO) I created a thread about that a long time ago. It was also the first time i started putting people on ignore. ☠️ (There are some sad negative people on this board that add nothing to a thread with their useless posts.)
  17. The buffet Garden Cafe was renamed Surfside Cafe. Teppanyaki was rename Hasuki. And it could be argued that OceanBlue was renamed Palomar. At a minimum, why rename the Garden Cafe?
  18. hop on/hop off bus. trolley, which is a quick version of the hop on/hop off. both can be found at the kiosk at the pier terminal. for hop on.off bus, plan ahead. you can probably find a map of their stops from their site. figure out which sites you want to get off at to explore and for how long.
  19. I am currently on the Joy in Rm 10948. I wished i got the angled balcony next door. Or so I thought... This is what the deck plans show on NCL's site: But when I got to my balcony, I saw this: As you can see, 10946 is NOT an angled balcony! It's the same balcony as mine (10948). 10942 is the angled balcony. NCL's deck plans are WRONG! It is probably the same on the other side (10346)
  20. I'm currently aboard the Joy. Platinum dinners changed to the following: Top voucher: Good for Cagney, Le Bistro, and ocean blue Ocean blue is a new choice! Bottom voucher: Used to be La Cuchina and Food republic (because no Moderno on Joy). Note: Food republic is limited to 4 dishes (no change) Now the bottom voucher is good for all other specialty restaurants not listed in the above voucher. That includes Tepanaki! Note: The vouchers still say the same old thing. I found out the changes by talking to CruiseNext
  21. Male, age51, solo I usually get Geoblue Trekker medical-only annual insurance for medical/medivac emergencies. Before Covid, it was $100/yr. Now it's $150/yr. Allianz is $138/yr. ($20k medical/$100k medivac) You can buy GeoBlue through Insuremytrip.com at no markup so you get your own insurance agent working on your behalf. I think you have to buy Allianz directly. (https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/travel/annual) If you bought an annual medical only plan, which did you buy? Why that company/
  22. If there's a Hop on/off bus excursion, is it exclusively for people on the ship? or are we just given a ticket and told the nearest location where to board it? (in which case buying directly from their website should be cheaper?)
  23. For breakfast, my hostel has a slightly better than continental buffet breakfast for 1850 isk. ($1 usd is 140 isk so $13) The breakfast consists of ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, pastries, bread, peanut butter, Nutella, cereal. Also, oj/apple juice/coffee. For lunch I went to the lamb hot dog stand (600 isk/$4.25 USD). (Extremely busy! Who knew Icelanders love hot dogs from this stand :o ) Recommend some bang for the buck places and what foods.
