  1. I would have looked at the Greece/Turkey/Italy, but something is up as the single IVs weren't showing. I'd rather not wait to see if they're doing something weird with them so I booked for this summer.
  2. If it's on an Edge class ship, there are solo options. The others I don't think have official solo cabins.
  3. IDK. I'd have liked one with Ireland AND Scotland - I could lose Iceland. I say "settle' in not full seriousness. I've never been to Bermuda and will be there on my birthday, so that'll be fun!
  4. I went with Summit out of NYC (ok NJ, but close enough) THIS summer just to get the monkey of this NRD off my back. I wasn't overly thrilled with the Med itineraries. Summit out of NJ/NYC allows me to not have to deal with airfare.
  5. Edge class has solo staterooms with Infinite Veranda. They are super nice!! AND best of all you're not stuck inside like in the what look like padded cells on NCL. edit to add: BUT if the rest of you are in Aqua (I think you're one who's going to be in Aqua soon), the solo will not be allowed to join you in Blu and would have to buy a thermal spa pass to join you there. The solo IVs are great, but they're "commoner" (per a lot on here) cabins with no access to things Suite or Aqua Class.
  6. Right. I figured. But when I first looked, only one sailing from there was loaded.
  7. Weirdly I didn’t see Rotterdam as a departure option in their drop-down menu. Not that I am looking at those. But since they don’t seem to want to release the single IVs I guess I’ll just be figuring out something else to burn this stupid NRD I have.
  8. 3:30am eastern. They are slowly loading. Both in itineraries - only one out of Amsterdam is showing - AND apparently staterooms. Unless they're eliminating the solo cabins on Ascent and Beyond because those are not showing up.
  9. I had a great stay at the Blue Horizon.
  10. I don't try to "indoctrinate" anyone into liking them. BUT the same if not more can be said for the IV haters. They typically come back with negatives ANY time anyone says they liked them and had no issues with them. ANY time. Who's trying to "indoctrinate" whom??
  11. Thanks. I'm Eastern, so I should be able to check at 4am.
  12. On a free cruise, I doubt there would be reimbursement for cruise cancellation. That would be insurance for airfare. You'll probably only be able to look for medical/evacuation insurance. I know whenever I have looked at insurance for a trip, it specifically asks the cost of the cruise. If you're paying $0 that is only going to be $0.
  13. Thanks! Looks like I may be sticking with what I have or changing to something Caribbean for Feb 2024. The ones I'm primarily interested in (I'm weird and would rather have round trip than deal with flying into one country and out of another) are longer and ergo more $$$ than I'd prefer I'm sure. I'll look though.
  14. One thing I know from reading these forums is that Tampa can fall victim to fog which can delay the ships - so I would not cut it too close without having options if you miss the scheduled flight.
  15. NOT cool!! That is one of the only dessert options for those of us who are gluten-free!!
  16. I've not been to Rhodes, but I have been to Mykonos and Santorini on RCCL - I'd guess they might have some of the same excursions. In both Mykonos and Santorini I was able to do both a ship tour AND some on my own exploring. Santorini I did a ship tour that - yes, went from the tender boat to another boat - went out to the volcano in the middle of the caldera and hiked up and around it, then we went around to another area where we could swim in hot springs, then back to the base of Santorini. We were provided with funicular tickets (or whatever they call the tram up to the top and back down) so I used that and then explored on my own. The line for the funicular back down was ABSURD when I was ready to go as other ships in the area had earlier departure times than we did, so I walked down the path. It was fun - but it does get slippy in places so I wouldn't do it in the rain or if I were in a rush. Mykonos I did a tour to a monastery that also included snacks and ouzo, then after getting back to the ship I dropped some things, grabbed some others, and headed back out. I opted for the water taxi to the village rather than the bus and spend a couple of hours walking about before heading back to the ship to rest because I was beat by that point. Athens my friend and I opted for the "Athens On Your Own" option which just provided a bus into Athens from Piraeus and we had the day to ourselves. We got in line for Acropolis tickets and spend what we both declared was the best 10 euro each of the trip when a tour guide (they have licenses so you can see) offered access tickets - which he had and gave to whoever took him up on it immediately and said "meet me over there" - and a guided tour for the cost of access tickets plus 10 euro. We - like others - happily took the tickets and then loosely headed "over there" before going straight to the gates and taking ourselves up to the top. Katakolon we did "Olympia on Your Own" which, like in Athens, provided a bus to Olympia and then we were on our own for tickets to the ruins and exploring them. That one did stop at a souvenir place on the way back, but I found a really cool sculpture for my friends who were getting married, so I didn't mind and there was no pressure to buy anything.
  17. Not Royal, but a few years ago I was on Disney and heard a loud (on one side) discussion in the hallway between a guest and some officers. (Hint: the officers were not loud.) The guest had put wine in his suitcase and it busted and got into luggage belonging to other people. The stateroom hosts distributing the luggage noticed it and contacted their supervisor who contacted the Hotel Director who contacted someone else higher up - so it was known whose luggage it was on both sides. (I guess once the higher ups got there they opened the wet luggage to determine whose was naughty - I didn’t overhear that part of the discussion.) I’d hope the stateroom hosts distributing the luggage on any line would notice that kind of thing before it got to you. The guilty party was given the choice of paying for repair and/or replacement of the damaged bags or removal from the ship. (I was on my way out to do something, so I don’t know how it turned out as I didn’t get a good enough look at the person who was inconsiderate enough to disobey the rules.)
  18. Woman "of childbearing age" here and if I'm on the ship, I just go back to my cabin to change it. No problem and no need to carry anything extra.
  19. Plus, it's adding guilt to me for changing next week since Disney is doing its presale of their Winter 2024 itineraries to Castaway Club members that week and it's always insane for agents.
  20. Honestly it's making me annoyed. Release them already and quit stalling. I was excited for it today. I feel like by next week I'm just going to be even more annoyed and pick anything to get rid of this NRD I was stupid enough to do.
  21. SOOOOOOOO frustrating. I was ready to potentially change to a different Europe 2024 cruise tomorrow. I'd rather get this decision made so I can use this stupid non-refundable credit. I'm booked for Norway...but not really thrilled with it.
