  1. Thank you. I will. At least their deposits are refundable up to PIF date without having to opt into that.
  2. I'm holding off on contacting my TA to move cruises until the Apex from Southampton come out and I can see what those are. Otherwise I'll change from the Equinox in July to the Ascent in February. I don't want to make her change to the Ascent for me to just change next week if one of those itineraries appeals to me.
  3. Didn't happen for me on the Edge in Feb 2020. My first X cruise and they left me in my solo stateroom. Maybe I shouldn't have linked my Crown & Anchor account before so they'd think I was a total newbie?
  4. If you have Select dining, you can make reservations for your preferred MDRs and times in the Cruise Planner. If you have a set time, you'll be assigned to one of the 4 MDRs. Reportedly if you want to try another you can ask and may be accommodated - but I don't know. I do Select and set my time between the 2 fixed times.
  5. Sorry, not for me. You want to do business with cruise passengers, learn to read the schedule and set up meeting times and places. I would not trust any vendor who wanted me to do all of the legwork - especially not trust them to get me to the ship on time.
  6. That has not been mandatory on most ships for a while now. Though it never hurts to put it on in the cabin to make sure you know a) where it is, b) that you have sizes needed for all in your cabin, and c) know how to put it on.
  7. I was on the Edge pre-Covid and we went to get the sea pass cards and drop things off upon boarding.
  8. I'm sure it's mostly to help keep lines down. Can you imagine the line if they were cooking each burger as ordered?? Then people would complain about those lines.
  9. I'm pondering it. I don't eat fish, and I know how fish-heavy the Japanese diet is, so a cruise seems like the best way for me to visit and have safe for me food. We'll see though.
  10. THIS! My TA was on the sailing and I specifically asked her about it. She said that as far as she had been informed it was TEMPORARY.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out how the bands Carnival has are so different from Magic Bands at Disney World. I guess the location tagging thing that the Carnival bands do?
  12. Seems like the new opportunities come out a day or so before the 14th when the previous month's are given.
  13. I've never felt pressured to give more - I'm not sure they know who is pre-paying them and who isn't (and there are enough who would get AI and then demand that the tips be removed I doubt they would put much stock in any such list.) I've never bribed my stateroom host, servers, or any bartenders and I always have great service. While I may - and have - give extra money on the cruise, I know that FAR more valuable to them is mentioning them by name on comment cards and/or a letter after the cruise. That can lead to promotions and raises that are worth far more in the end than a little bit extra as a one-time thing.
  14. Biggest help... When you take off your suit, roll it in a towel and walk back and forth on the towel, then rotate the towel 1/4 and walk on it again. Gets a TON of excess water off, so it won't take as long to dry.
  15. Hmm. Another reason to just do another X cruise to use up the deposit I was stupid enough to make non-refundable and never sail on them again.
  16. Really? On Disney, if they go down, you're refunded the difference if you're already paid in full or your balance goes down if you haven't PIF yet; if they increase, Disney eats the difference. I figured refunding a difference automatically was standard procedure.
  17. Port fees and taxes sometimes go down closer to the sailing.
  18. Radiance Class and Vision Class are roughly the same guest capacity as Millennium Class...
  19. I'm confused... WAS your magnet on the door? If so, that's a mistake that he knocked. If not, he had no way of knowing people were still in the room and/or sleeping and would rightfully assume that you are out and about - or at least awake. Because no, not everyone sleeps the day away on vacation.
  20. Ah. Sorry - I misunderstood when you said solo cabin since E-class has actual solo cabins.
  21. Wait. You were in one of the Single IVs - the cabins designed for 1 person - and got double points?? You got LUCKY. Single IVs are not supposed to give double points because they are designed for solo travelers.
  22. IDK. But if I had said I was going to add it onto my account and felt pressured to give cash, whatever I was going to give would go to someone else.
