  1. Just had an e-mail from Regent delaying embarkation on Voyager due to a number of current passengers suffering from "stomach flu". Boarding will now not start until at least 1pm, with rooms starting to be ready at 4pm and bags to rooms starting no earlier than 5pm.
  2. No - more annoyed at the parents and EJ staff who allow the poor behaviour of of the children- in the case of the main pool, totally unacceptable behaviour- I was surprised no one was injured.
  3. Spot on - I was on EJ 1 a few weeks ago with a large number of kids onboard and they were at times a pain in the pool and even in restaurants - EJ costs too much money not to fully enjoy your holiday.
  4. Yes, it does feel crowded at times - they struggled with service at lunch time - 30min wait for a burger and could not get anywhere near a couple of the popular food stations.
  5. Definitely more than 5 onboard and of school age- it appears the parents have no control or do not care - eating any where near them is like being in MacD - staff simply ignore what is happening- even when it is of a H & S concern - there must have been some good deals for bringing children onboard?
  6. On board now - lovely ship, great food, great staff but its never going to be a five star experience unless they regulate the behaviour of some of the parents and their kids on board. I understand that MSC are a family friendly line but you do not expect the constant screaming and madness going on in the pools and Jacuzzis- kids being kids is one thing but you do not expect a child being thrown into the air by a dad in a pack pool on a luxury ship - I can get that elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.
  7. Well just out of the med restaurant and was sat next to a man in shorts, a hoodie and flip flops - a relaxed dress code is one word for it lol.
  8. On the ship now and seeing a number of men going into the different restaurants in shorts - only seen 1 turn away.
  9. Looking forward to joining her in Dubai - first time on Celebrity.
  10. New to celebrity but not cruising. Looking at a cruise with two stops in India and would appreciate any information regarding what visa's are needed for cruise passenger's who are UK citizens. Looks like you can use an e-visa but it would be nice to hear from anyone who has recently stopped at Mumbai and Cochin.
  11. Oh so very true - blank luggage labels in an envelope do not paint a picture of a 6 star product.
  12. What a lovely looking island - thanks for the pictures.
  13. I don't think an extra sea day would make up for missing a day in Singapore.
  14. Also on the transatlantic at the end of March - looking forward to the views from the infinity pool. Carol & Nigel
  15. Yes, I have upgraded our flights and would agree that they are very competitive - shame about the document pack - an envelop with a few luggage labels in it hardly gives the feeling of a 6 star cruise line. Our last cruise was with Cunard at Xmas, who provided a personized pre-cruise folder detailing all aspects of our trip - maybe Regents MD (UK) needs a rethink.
  16. We have been lucky enough to sail with Regent a number of times and are booked on Splendor at the end of March 2023. On previous sailings, we have always received a very nice document wallet containing all the information that we need for our trip. This week we received an envelop containing a handful of luggage labels and a very brief note that our trip information is available online. Is this another cut back?
  17. I could not agree more - I have sailed with Regent a number of times and did not recognize what was presented in the Channel 5 programme aired last week - We are on Splendor at the end of March 2023 and I hope the 3 L's have moved to other ships lol.
  18. Currently on the Queen Victoria. While I am sure it is part of your remit to spin such events in a good light for Cunard - it did not worsen on the Christmas cruise - the Captain on his first noon announcement from leaving Southampton informed us of the change and that a propeller was waiting for us in Cadiz. It was a planned event and Cunard left it until we had left Southampton to inform us - why not be honest and give guests the option to say that 3 days in a shipyard is not for me and just give them their money back.
  19. We were on last week, and believe me, this is just the start of the nightmare - the line for shuttle buses in the first port was 1hr to town and 2.5hrs back. Getting a seat in most bars was nearly impossible, and even if you did, a drink took between 20 and 30mins to arrive once you found someone to order it from. Disembarkation this morning was just crazy - over an hour, taking your own bags off. Oh, it is so nice to be home.
  20. I have noticed that the offers here in the UK are suddenly "cruise only" and more expensive than ever. I was interested in one of their special "offers", but in the end booked Regent as the overall price was not that much different. I have read that their ships are sailing half-full (or half-empty according to how you look at it) no wonder if this is their new marketing strategy. I have enjoyed my time sailing with them, but there are just so many other lines offering better value - it looks like it will be a while until it happens again - shame.
  21. Just got my status match - filled the form in on Sunday. Regent Seven Seas Silver to MSC Diamond - no real issues apart from the form not working for a few days before I submitted it.
  22. Just booked an MSC trip, so a bit late to this posting - but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading your posts.
