I am on the Wonder of the Seas in January and they have very few excursions with the exception of Coco Cay. Likely staff shortages are still a factor

You can use the Royal app to look at current cruise activities on the Freedom A quick look shows a 70s party in Boleros and a Red party in Studio B on Day 2. I expect that is I looked further, there would be a variety of parties every night.

I have T-Mobile and an Android phone and I have no difficulty sending or receiving text messages with RCI's internet package. Been on several Royal ships post-covid and all worked the same.

I have this feeling that there will be many people showing up for Royal Caribbean cruises without a pre-cruise test because of this poorly worded announcement. Could make check-in a mess.

no specialty restaurants can be booked ahead of time when using UDP(or any package). All have to be reserved after boarding. From past experience with upselling after boarding, I doubt that the Chef's Table will be booked solid. You may be able to get a discount on board.

We like to eat at 6:00 pm at the specialty restaurants. We always have at least Chops +1 on every cruise and often 3-night, 5-night or UDP packages. We make reservations shortly after we board and the only specialty restaurant we could not been able to get the exact day/time we wanted has been Izumi Hibachi.

There is a recently added button to cruises through the app that allows you to book excursions through the app. Just tested it to be sure.

basically, yes. A couple of days before debarkation, the ship has you fill out a form with your flight/departure plans. You will receive a schedule based on your response. There will be a time & door location for self-departure. Grab your bags and get in line until customs release everyone.

They may scan your sea pass card on entry, but the drinks & food in the suite lounge are completely free and do not count against diamond vouchers.

There is a "filter" button within the Daily Planner in the app. Select the "Entertain" filter and only the shows will be listed. Much easier to see show times and schedules.

I like the Crazy Lobster in Mahahual for their food, their cheap massages and their beach. Can walk to it from cruise port, but I normally take a taxi so I'm not wilted by the Mexican sun before I arrive.

Ran into the same thing for the UPD on the Wonder today. Looks like a sale on the UDP, but RCI added a charge for tips when I went to pay. I have never seen RCI charge gratuities separately for any dining package purchased from the cruise planner before today. Just another way of making a sale not a sale for Royal.

Got a price adjustment yesterday for a 2024 cruise and a month ago I got one for a 2023 cruise so it appears that there is some misinformation at RCI among some customer care people.

Change can be hard! I am one of those that loves the RCI app and I no longer look at the cruise compass. Refreshing the app data in the morning will update the listings so everything is current.
