  1. Hopefully Royal goes the Virgin Voyages/Sandals route and just builds staff pay into the cruise fare and then nobody has to worry about gratuities anymore
  2. Went in December and the weather was comfortable. Ocean and pool were a little chilly but not unbearable and if you’re not from a hot part of the country you probably wouldn’t even notice
  3. you can see everything if you go on the RC app and change your sailing to the current one
  4. I think you can attribute it more to the mask rule more than the smoking. On odyssey last year I stuck to vaccinated only areas for the most part — not out of anxiety just because I don’t find it enjoyable to wear a mask
  5. Pricing hasn't been announced for RC but they're also deploying it on Hawaiian Airlines and at least to start its going to be free
  6. Aruba is one of the easiest ports in the caribbean to catch a cab and do the beach on your own
  7. I’m pretty libertarian but in a confined space like a cruise ship any indoor common area that allows smoking is a pain for all nonsmokers. If you want to go to the casino you have to breathe in secondhand smoke the whole time and walk out smelling like a cigarette butt. I can’t imagine all the people defending casino smoking singing the same tune if they suddenly let you smoke weed in the casino
  8. A handful of people out of hundreds of thousands on cruise ships get in a fight and now something needs to be done 🙄 not everything requires some drastic change. Punish the people involved and move on
  9. I'm sure you have to bring your own gopro and helmet strap. I've been ziplining in a lot of places and everywhere discourages it but I've never been to one that wouldn't allow it
  10. Yeah there's no such thing as trashy people with money 🙄
  11. The best strategy is just get whatever you want whenever you want, don't finish anything you don't like, and take cruises that stop at Coco Cay/Labadee so you can use it in those ports. The best thing about the package is not having to look at the prices or keep track of what you're spending. Also keep in mind that its not just alcohol you can use it for, you can get better coffee/specialty coffees, bottled water, juices, etc
  12. In Europe they do but in the US they only have to compensate you if you’re involuntarily bumped. That’s why they try so hard to get volunteers
  13. it’s like going to an airport seminar about best shops in the terminals I do wish they’d do a real shopping thing where they could recommend shops that aren’t in the port area and don’t pay to be included. Not cariloha/del sol/diamonds international/tanzanite international/etc
  14. Fort Lauderdale seems to care the least about the arrival times but people doing this is what causes all the chaos at the port on embarkation day
  15. Not saying its feasible on a cruise ship (at least without greasing somebody's wheels heavily), but some of these people are acting like this is a totally out there request even though its pretty common for hotels on land to accommodate this when there's a room block for a wedding
  16. like this? https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/General_Info/2022-2023_Fleet_Guide.pdf
  17. Yeah I fly a lot and in my experience 2020 and 2021 were WAY worse operationally. Almost every single flight I took last year was delayed or canceled in some way but actually haven't encountered any trouble this year
  18. Went on Odyssey 8 day to Aruba, Curacao, and Coco Cay back in December and it was the best cruise I've been on. Loved every port and never got bored on sea days
  19. This was my exact experience on the Odyssey back in December. Our freestyle cups weren't in our room so we went to guest services who directed us to a bar who directed us to another bar who directed us to another bar and acted strangely about it the whole time
  20. Right -- I'm not the OP, I was giving an example of what it looks like
  21. It doesn’t show up under beverage packages? Mine does and just says reserved
  22. I already begrudgingly buy it up to $70 because I like the all inclusive feel but any more than that and it’s just not worth it, especially on port intensive itineraries
  23. On Odyssey we only had to wait for MTD if we went right when the dining room opened
