  1. I would've said "Well, we're all the new Zenith Plus, soooo......." and smiled in his face as the doors closed.
  2. The linked thread above has the old alphanumeric code (H6). The info is correct but the aft-facing suites aren't called H6 anymore.
  3. When you are able to connect to the ship's wifi, you will see more information.
  4. If your number is valid on the day that you book, you get the discount (5%, 5%+5%, 5%+10%, etc.).
  5. Out of curiosity, if you could do it again, would you do Haven first and OV second or OV first and Haven second? (If the number of days in each is the same) As for leaving notes/letters or speaking directly, it's up to the individual. I don't give the butler anything in writing because I can easily just speak to him/her. Some people feel that written requests work better for them. There is no "wrong" method as long as guests are respectful. Barking orders in person or leaving nasty or demeaning notes is foul, IMO. For some people, the 2nd time in the Haven is better than the first. An experienced Haven guest will probably do a better job of having their wants/needs met by the staff. The OP didn't seem to have any outrageous requests so I'd be willing to bet that the Haven staff will satisfy more of what the OP wants next time...if there is one.
  6. But the person making the signs/web page isn't blind. 😎
  7. That's not even the first time that I have seen MSC make the same typo. There was a sign outside of the ship that had the same spelling.
  8. The vast majority of "sleeps 3" standard balcony staterooms on Joy have the bed near the closet. There are some that have the bed near the balcony so it isn't 100% like the "sleeps 4" (bed near balcony) staterooms are. If you find a "sleeps 3" that is between a pair of "sleeps 4", it is most likely bed near the closet. Do you have any specific staterooms to choose from?
  9. It's actually weirder than you think. If your bed is near the "bathroom", your "bathroom" sink can be either near your feet or near your head when you're asleep. 😂
  10. On Bliss, the standard balcony and standard Club balcony staterooms are configured the same. The Club Balcony has a larger bathroom but living space is within inches of each other. Each can be either bed near balcony or bed near closet but a "sleeps 4" will be bed near the balcony. The aft-facing balcony and aft-facing Club Balcony staterooms have slightly different rules and neither of them sleeps 4. In your case, the pullman will be above the sofa bed and they will both be near the closet. Your path to the balcony will be the same no matter what time of day or night.
  11. "I asked my room steward for an extra roll of toilet paper and he gave it to me for free..." It isn't free. It is paid for by the customers just like all of the other stuff that people call "free". People should just ignore the word games and just focus on "...what I will get vs. what I will pay...". The only issue is that some people pay for things that they neither want nor need because the things are "free". If things are all inclusive, some people will complain. If things are an added cost, some people will complain. What I will get vs. what I will pay...makes the decision so much easier.
  12. There are also the aft-facing Haven suites (HB and HC) and many of those (especially HB) have a balcony that is large enough for the entire family to enjoy....except for deck 13. These "outside of the enclave" suites have all of the amenities of the Haven including enclave access but are located in other parts of the ship. For some, the tradeoff of location in the enclave vs. stateroom size/balcony size/lower price is worth it. For the OP, they might be worth a look.
  13. Some people book Haven. Some people book mini-suite. Some people book balcony. Some people book oceanview. Some people book interior. They can all have a great cruise. Don't worry about what others have booked. Instead, focus on having a great cruise. There's nothing about the Haven that should make anyone feel out of place. Not everyone who books the Haven is trying to "prove" that they are better than others. Yes, there are some people who gladly announce that they are Haven guests at every opportunity (nobody at the buffet cares) but those people are rare. Most Haven guests are good people just like most non-Haven guests are good people. If the idea of a butler makes you feel uncomfortable, don't ask the butler for anything. The butler may offer services but if you just want some peace and quiet, the butler won't hassle you. Enjoy your cruise with your family. 👍
  14. Balcony depth is different depending on deck. There are also differences in balcony width within each deck. There are also 2 different configurations as far as bed location (near balcony vs. near closet). If you can tell us your preferences, we can suggest a stateroom or 2. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2831555-best-aft-balcony-on-the-breakaway/?do=findComment&comment=62662175
  15. I've also tried to remind people that a successful request for one isn't necessarily a guarantee for others. One example is non-Haven guests checking-in/boarding with Haven guests. Can it be done? Yes. Is it always done? No. The Haven guests who are denied shouldn't feel anger towards the Haven staff. It's a request and some will get approved while others will not.
  16. IF it successfully carries over, you're all set. If it didn't successfully carry over, you'll have to register a card onboard. Yes, but don't be surprised if the amounts don't exactly match what you have purchased. It will eventually sort itself out in the end but the "pending" amounts can be strange numbers. Also, the daily hotel charge might all come out at once instead of daily. I've experienced both daily and all at once on MSC.
  17. Your choices are spa access or (if you move) a larger stateroom. Do you know which forward-facing stateroom is available? If it is on deck 13, the balcony is partially enclosed. If it is 13106, it is a wheelchair accessible stateroom that is one large room and a large bathroom (no separate living room). If you stay in 15862... ...if you get 13106....(you can also see the deck 13 balcony) ...if you get a non-wheelchair accessible forward-facing suite...
  18. At minimum, book Aurea but preferably, book Yacht Club if you prefer less crowded areas.
  19. When MSC has owed me money, the wait time has been as little as 11 days and as long as 5 months. Good luck....😉
  20. Knowing NCL, the mugs probably hold 6.4oz (20% less than an 8oz cup). 😄
  21. Other lines are (in most cases*) improving their hull art. NCL should have raised the bar with something that is amazing. Prima and Vista aren't bad but neither seems to be memorable. *MSC Euriba is a step in the wrong direction.
  22. https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq An SDP meal in a la carte restaurants includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 main course and 1 dessert (does not apply to cover charge restaurants or Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar and Sushi, where a meal includes any 4 menu items). For the most part, you can ignore the prices on the menu. Certain items will have a supplement charge even when using the SDP.
