  1. So yesterday I priced a 10 night cruise on Beyond for next November. The category is a Prime Edge Verandah and under the promotion of second guest at 40% off, the price for 2 was $4200 with tax. Today, under the new promotion of 75% off the second guest, I took a look at the Prime Edge Verandah once again only this time I expected it to be cheaper...because 75% off is a greater savings than 40% off. To my surprise (and confusion) the price for the same room I looked at yesterday is now $400 more. Can someone please help me understand this pricing structure? I'm genuinely trying to understand.
  2. If you’re talking about VTcruising, I agree! Have found myself thinking of her a lot these days as we inch closer to our embarkation.
  3. Status match ahead of time gets you 5% off your cruise. You/your travel agent will have to call to get the discount. I highly recommend the use of a TA.
  4. Haven’t booked but the name is growing on me.
  5. DH only inserts his card into a machine when they announce that $5 free play has been loaded onto the sea pass card. That's it. He plays his free play then goes to the bar to obtain a cocktail for dear me while I do the real playing.. As such, Every. Single. Offer. has been addressed to him...not me. No rhyme or reason IMO.
  6. We have always been able to acquire dinner reservations at decent times (for us, 7:00 - 8:00) once on board. I had read on CC that they hold back reservation time slots and, TBH, I was skeptical. However, once on board, was pleasantly surprised at how relatively easy it was to secure a time. Additionally, if you end up with a time that is later than you had hoped, you can always check back for cancellations or arrive a little early to see if space is available. We had a 9 PM reservation for Tuscan Grille...the only spot available. On the evening of, we stopped by the M'd stand to let them know we were willing to take an earlier time if one was available. We were seated almost immediately. My very wordy way of saying that I think you will be fine.
  7. I'm not sure because I was an established Celebrity cruiser when we used them for the comp. To my knowledge it doesn't matter if you have sailed Celebrity before I think the rule is that you cannot have already sailed Celebrity on a UR casino comp within a year of the next UR casino comp. In other words Celebrity will accept 1 casino comp made with ur per year. But @kwokpot has much more knowledge in this area.
  8. I read that it is Captain Sandy from Bravo’s Below Deck series.
  9. Very excited,Denny! Hoping to meet some fellow CCers on board. Counting down to my next Live From blog…T minus 13 days…woohoo!
  10. Hmmm...welp, I've got nothing. Guess you'll know soon enough. You'll have to give us an update ☺️.
  11. Do you happen to have the original e-mail sent to you Re. bidding? That's how I placed my bid as it never did show in my cruise planner.
  12. Happens to the best of us, my friend! Just today I texted DH about our dinner plans...or so I thought. My neighbor responded with, "Sounds good, be right over!"...lol...glad my text was only about dinner 😁.
  13. I hope you get the room...but you probably won't know for sure up until 48 hours before departure...as I read it on the bidding site. Good luck!!
  14. How do you check the status of your bid? EDIT: I figured it out. I have 2 offers pending and our cruise is Nov. 26. Both offers show "strong" on the meter but there are no rooms in either categories showing as available...so I'm not counting on either offer being accepted.
  15. We are on the November sailing as well. Regarding Carnival, I really liked their offer of a comped balcony stateroom for 7 nights...much better than the inside category X is offering. I turned the Carnival offer into a Celebrity offer using URComped. They honored it! Only difference was it was for 6 nights instead of 7. Point is, perhaps you could take one of those Carnival offers and do the same!
  16. It's likely that you are now locked in to the cabin you've been assigned. Concierge class includes an embarkation day lunch in the MDR while other categories must dine in the buffet or a specialty like Sushi on 5. Suites can dine in Luminae. The other perks of this category are nominal IMO but I think you'll like it!
  17. Sounds like you are getting the better end of the stick! As a guarantee booking, your room is subject to change for a variety of reasons. How soon before you sail? and how soon after you initially booked were you assigned your cabin?
  18. I highly recommend the lemon tarts...ask for 2 at a time... and the macaroons!
  19. Just came across this video of Captain Kate on the Beyond talking about the 2 names Celebrity were toying with before settling with Xcel. Seems there has to be certain criteria met in the naming of the ship: 1. Has to be 6 letters or less 2. Can't be a name used on a previous cruise ship 3. Has to represent the pinnacle of the E class fleet since it's the last one... Here's the video...
  20. Check in for my cruise in a few weeks was 5 days late...had me all in a tizzy!
  21. The color of the X appears to be the same as the magic carpet color on the side of the E class ships. Maybe they are trying to tie in the hideous color choice of the MC with the brand itself.
  22. From one Georgia Peach to another, I will be following along with great interest! Wishing you a fabulous cruise on what sounds like a wonderful itinerary!
  23. Just read the entire thread. Lots of good info here! Right or wrong, if one thinks something is one way and then learns it’s another…it can be disappointing. OP, I think I’d get the refund and start over.
