True. But there are also 3 to 4 times as many people per sailing as well. It is all relative. Just saw another thread today stating drink prices had been raised to $14. I cruise in 3 weeks and purchased the beverage package many months ago on a good sale. So now I will most likely be springing an extra buck per drink on this cruise. Not like its going to bankrupt me. But it all keeps adding up. Services removed, food quality declining and so forth. It just isnt as good a product or value as it used to be.

But it does apply for those of us cruising over the next couple of weeks who bought the drink package months ago.

You might want to start out with a long weekend a state or two away from home for the next one. At least you can drive home if something bad happens.

No chance. If the recession gets bad enough CCL could end up scraping half of its fleet. They are replacing the older ships now and into the future. But 10 of their current ships are 20 years or older. They are in real trouble.

You also get priority boarding lines at the port on embarkation day. And the debarkation breakfast which includes crab on the menu. We bought it for our Allure cruise in 3 weeks because it was on sale $20 per day. And was actually cheaper than the Voom package. It was a no brainer.

Sorry to hear another negative review of food on Allure. Seems to be happening more often recently. We will find something to eat and be fine for a week. But I was hoping to be wowed by Royal food.

Following. We are on Allure in 26 days. Not that I am counting or anything.

We always cruise book a year out. Once I get off of my Allure Halloween cruise we will book another for next Sept/Oct. We are not loyal to any single line though. And will make a decision when we get home. Have really been enjoying Celebrity recently. Hope Allure can match them.

Instead of cancelling and losing your deposit just change your cruise and lose $100 per person instead. No point in losing money for nothing.

Man. I came to the Viking part of the site because my wife and I were seriously contemplating trying Viking for our next Med cruise. I have seen your review and another that have been nothing but disappointment and quite frankly a mess. We will pass.

My TA can deal with the "terms and conditions". I will suck down another two or three cocktails while they handle it.

I always wonder how this impacted your dinner exactly? One thing I will say NCL does way better than Royal. You wear what you want when you want. If you want to wear a ball gown good for you. If I want to wear shorts and a t shirt. Good for me.

I agree with you completely. I always laugh when my wife says "I am not eating raw meat". She has no idea what she is missing when it comes to raw tuna. We catch them offshore and always filet one for lunch immediately. Dip that bad boy in some soy sauce and you are in heaven. She will make me grill her a burger or something instead. 🙂 Really enjoying this review. We are on Allure in 28 days. Not like I am counting or anything. Pretty surprising the difference in the restaurants between Allure and this ship. But when I am cruising I am drinking so much that it doesnt really matter in the end.

While the benefits a TA gives you are nice that is not why we use one. They are the ones who will be on hold with the cruiseline for hours if there is a problem. Not me. That alone is worth giving them my business.
