There is a shuttle from the pier to the train station for 5 Euro each way… its a 12 min walk from the Shipp to the train station.

The train ride is 12 Euros with bus and metro included. The Name is BIRG ticket. One way train ticket is 4.50 Euro. By train you are faster in Rome than by bus or car.

When you are traveling in an other country please change some money in the local currency! I saw Americans in a Swiss train and the want to pay a train ticket with dollars, no chance! The staff accept only Swiss francs, Euros or credit cards. For the restaurat/bar/hotel staff it's not easy to exchange the foreign currency in a bank or so. They have to pay taxes and the change only bills no coins. And often there are not many banks nearby. So please take Euros when you traveling in Europe, also country without Euro like Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway... will take Euros, but no US dollars normally. When we are traveling we take only a few bills in the local currency and normally pay by credit cards. For us tourists its not a big thing to exchange money before we travel.

We booked today on the Noordam von HAL for an Alaska cruise in July 2025. So no Princess, NCL or so.

France and especially Paris will be at the highest Anti-Terror-Level in this summer. So not really easy to travel or stay in Paris, there will be a lot of Police and Army to protect the city and the hole country. We a rental car reservation for the three days in France on the cruise so, we look how the situation will be in July.

The speciality dining is our adults only evening... and they will have a suite evening with the tv or so. In a neptune suite they will deliver food to the suite I think, like Cunard in the grills oder MSC in the Yacht Club?

I am asking about the package for our teens not for us. I cruise with different lines and often we don't take drink or internet packages. Its also nice to have some days without internet and at home we don't drink a lot of alcohol.

Wow, thats a bad service! We live in Europe and have dual nationality. For one nationality you have to go to the office, and then wait 20 minutes for the print of the passport. Sometimes are waiting times for an appointment for 4-6 weeks, but only bevor the summer holidays. And our other country have 3-4 days to print the passport.

And the not will use Wi-fi on the ship, they can stay some hours oder days without internet. They can use their data package on the land-days. Guest 1 and 2 have HIA, the kids not. So my question was about the kids an the gratuities for them. Its our first HAL-Family cruise, normally we cruise with other lines.

We are looking forward to an Alaska cruise tour in Sommer 2025. We have to teens (15 and 17 next year) and have a offer for a Neptune suite with HIA. HIA is only for Person 1,2 but noch for the teens, right? There is also no drink package for the kids? And have the teen to pay the gratuities? I am a litte confused about our TA that don't have a lot of experience with the cruise tours and HAL.

We cruise a lot with MSC and they never confiscated our european power strip. As a family of 4 we have to use one, otherwise it's not possible with 4 phones, 3 watches usw.

And when you want a special train experience in Italy, book an Executive Train Trip in a Frecciarossa High Speed Train. It's an only 10 place train carriage, with a lot of place and food service. A really special service, and from Florence or Rome to Venice also in a nice landscape.

Trenitalia is the official train company of Italy. The other is a ticketing company. The best prices for train tickets in Italy is on the official trenitalia.it site (also in English). You have to book early, 2-3 months in advance, so a trip from Trieste to Venezia S. Lucia costs 10 Euro in second class and 13 Euro in first class, per Person.

Now I do some planing with a rental car and hotels for 12 days. It's more expensive than the Cruisetour. So for the price level its attractive.

For that we are thinking about a Cruisetour, to don't work two weeks for a three week holiday tour. Thank you for your tipps, I will look with my family what they want. The Price for a 18 Days Hal Cruise tour with a 7 Day Cruise in a Suite, was not bad! I know this is whiteout food on the land tour, but its really ok.

We have the same problem: We are a european family of 4 with 2 teens (15 and 17 next year) and want to do an Alaska southbound cruise in July 2025. I found the Norwegian Jade, the Radiance of the seas and the Caribbean Princess Itinery for us, but wich is the best? We will stay same days before in Alaska on your own, so no need of an organized group tour or so. And we have a lot of experience in landtravelling around the world on your own. Princess we know from a Panama cruise, NCL and RCCL are on the program for this spring and summer. So we don't know the lines really.

The hole cabin had to buy a drink packages, the kids package means the non alc for the adults. You can t buy inly for the kids a package.

No, your bookings are linked, so all from our booking have to buy a drink package. You can't buy one package for the hole family! In the MDR you have one table and the hole table had to have the same package. But you can have more than one drink at a bar. My kids, we were in YC normally, were going to take drinks for the hole teens club and the staff (10 Persons...) so was no problem with the two YC cards to order and become 10 drinks 🙂... When I am not in YC, so I don't buy a drink package, I am not a big fan of cocktails and alcohol, so I pay 100 Euros a week for drinks and a bootle of wine for myself. Sometimes its cheaper without a package.

The Buffetfood is the same quality like in the US. The quality depends more on the sailing date, when a sailing is sold well then they have more money per pax for the food per day. So it can be better food or it can be cheaper food, depends on the cruise date, but not on the country. MSC is a European cruise Line with european food. World Europa is a little bit special, the ship have to much pax when its fully booked, and the two buffets are to small for all pax, its like a battle sometimes in the buffet. We don't cruise on the World Europa in high saison, but off saison its just ok, but no highlight. In Winter its the only MSC Ship that cruise from Genoa so we cruise with her, but I prefer other Ships.

I never saw this on the german and swiss MSC Website. That's really special! On the never and bigger ships there are some solo studio cabins (only inside and ocean view) but not a lot, you have to book a year in advance to find one. So also the price ist better :-).

I never had a problem to book a solo cruise. Sometimes a year ago or two weeks before the cruise. But mostly for 180% price… YC or Non-YC, never had to wait or look for a solo cabin.
