Do you mean when you reboard they hand you a cold cloth??
I have not noticed them on any line we have been on pre covid
Maybe I just never looked for them
It depends on what the current rates are when you decide to add it back
Also the closer to sailing if you decide to cancel the credit may be less than say 9 -10 mths from sailing
I would add it in until the flight schedules come out for your sailing about 330 days out then you can see what the airlines have to offer

When you do the deviation can you choose the flights for the fee charged?
On their sister line we pay the deviation fee $175 PP but can choose the flight we want
or we sometimes find it better just to do our own air
You do not have to take any beverage package
Pay as you drink or take some bottles of wine aboard then pay the corkage fee to take them to the dining venues
Go to Happy hour before dinner & get 2 for 1 drinks
Sometimes the phone reps do not know what happens on the ships

I would just find insurance to cover the whole trip & not have to piece meal any claims if you have them
We used RSA & got most of our $$ back when we had to cancel the day before the cruise
It was $15000 also & we did use our TD USD card but had our own insurance so one stop to file the claim

breakfast & lunch vary but usually if the GDR is open it is about 12:30 to 2pm
Terrace 12 to 2pm
Waves 11:30 to 4
You will not go hungry unless you choose to
The upgrade for the bev package is $30 pp pd if you take the O life Bev package
there is another thread discussing it
no one knows the circumstances of why people cruise when they may not be in the best shape
A friend had a stroke at 47 spent 2 yrs in hospital
He still did not walk well but heck he was still alive & they did several cruises even though he used a wheelchair onboard
Some ports he could not go ashore but his wife went & took many photos
You never know what life will throw at you & when
Life has an expiry date you just do not know when that date is
Not Jan but if not there by day 3 I would contact your TA & get them to fix the issue
Pre covid they had cards on the desk with all the credits that will be added to our onboard account
We used to have to sign part of the card & the room steward/stewardess would take them

most of our cruises on O there have been a wide range of ages 20 somethings to 80+ somethings but average was 50 to 70's
You will meet people from every age range but if you do not like old people or children as some have expressed here just avoid those people 😉
They will probably avoid you if they are against the grey haired generation (although I have very little)
We started cruising with O in our mid 50's we are now mid 70's
I am not up to running around in port all day so we usually do tours of less than 5 hrs or just DIY
The age thing may be more noticeable on the small ships than the main stream monsters
I would opt for the June cruise to see the waterfalls on the way to Flam/Geiranger
they are not so great in Aug
We have been to Norway in June/July/Aug
all good 😉
Go for the itinerary that suits you best
We have done it in a C cabin deck 4 R class & on the O class shipin a B but we are up on deck more than in the cabin when sailing out of the Fjord
Our 1st cruise to Norway we were in an inside but again out on deck or in one of the areas to view the outside
What O ship are you on?
I think it is a mystery to all
The website says Ember require reservations for dinner
so who knows

You would need to do the math
If you use a USD account you still need to buy USD
Ask the cruise line what their rate is if you use CAD then compare to the bank exchange rate
Lately the cruise line rate was a bit better than me buying USD to put aside for my USD VISA payment
We also have a NO FTF Visa card we use for travel
YMMV
There are usually some larger groups on most cruises
the size is dependent on the group & how many the cruise line will allow
Some ships may have 2 or more groups of 100 pax on a smaller ship it can create some issues
Sometimes you just cannot avoid the larger groups
Some lines handle the large group booking better than others
