  1. I have excellent cable internet (usually), but a backup wouldn't be bad. Right now I'm hoping T-Mobile Home 5g expands to where I need it. Only $50/month, too.
  2. I keep looking at it from time to time, but availability in parts of Louisiana and Texas were lacking last I checked, and availability date just keeps getting pushed out.
  3. Yes, they are putting lots of space junk in low orbit. He is doing good work in Ukraine which makes me think some are working on a plan to disrupt. https://downdetector.com/status/starlink/
  4. While it sounds good, Starlink has outages, incomplete coverage, and I think throughput could be an issue once stressed.
  5. Sometimes. Maybe in the afternoon and maybe in the evening. At least two different lounges. you have to check the "Funtimes". You could bring a small leakproof ice chest and get ice from the cabin steward daily or request a refrigerator. The refrigerators, while compact, still take up room and generate some heat. They could also make noise. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/special-needs
  6. In the meanwhile, there are VPNs that work on Carnival WiFi and you can bet that way. And likely continue to do so in the future.
  7. Oh, I don't know. We are flying to England for a cruise later this month. At least we no longer have to test before flying home.
  8. The lobster under Steak House Selection is superior to the complementary lobster served on longer Carnival cruises.
  9. The Prime in Prime Rib (any of them) doesn't refer to the USDA grade. I almost always have it at least once per cruise.
  10. They let you bring your own test and will do a virtual session. https://onpoint-testing.com/

  12. My guess is you will have something like this: QR-Feast-1-nolobster-STRIP-BONSAI-082321.pdf
  13. Prime rib, yes. Lobster is not included.
  14. Yes. No telling how many complaints originate with Cheers. I have seen people sweating bullets but determined to get their 15 drinks in. I thought one was going to stroke out any minute.

  19. and the reactor along with some nukes are at the bottom of the sea. Assorted military nuclear accidents (that we know about) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_nuclear_accidents
  20. It really doesn't matter how much bandwidth they add, it will be consumed and then some. All the live streaming, vlogging, blogging, etc., etc., etc. More and more people every cruise. And cruise ships getting bigger and bigger.
  21. And Royal recently had to take on another 900 million or so in debt. Royal has a much higher debt to equity ratio. Neither one rates higher than junk status at the moment. But then, they have some good company
  22. We have never been that lucky. A free cruise for a few days, a few days of primitive camping and another free cruise sounds perfect.
  23. If Carnival and Royal came together, it would be a good way to alienate the customer base of both.
  24. Ted Arison was a co-founder of NCL. He left at a good time and never looked back.
