  1. That's not my experience. I paid for two FCD's, one for me and one for my partner, and as I paid for both I was refunded both. On many occasions Princess would only have the one credit/debit card on file for a couple.
  2. Yes, thanks for pointing that out. Some people seem to think that as soon as you get a positive covid test, you head straight for the Paxlovid. Not the way my GP works.
  3. The deluxe balcony has a sofa which is important to us and gives that much more space, which you already have. Generally I don't bother with a mini suite over a deluxe balcony, however now that Princess has stuffed up Dining Room arrangement a Club Class (now called Reserve) is worth it to us as there is a dedicated Dining Room area which, importantly you don't have to reserve and can just show up.
  4. The main difference with HAL for us is that the children on there are grand children or great grand kids! Compared to Princess we found HAL a near death experience. We will give them another go on their newer ships but the Westerdam was almost dead after dinner except for only one area. Overall not many activities throughout the day.
  5. Mine was like that and noticed it about a week ago, but today it's back to the former layout. You'd think Princess IT don't know what they are doing!😳
  6. Hello again. We did this cruise as well and the Emerald was fine by us, but I would also do a Royal class ship in preference. To the OP @devolve I highly recommend for your stop in Liverpool, do a Lakes District tour. That was one of our best days. Our cruise went to the Orkney Islands as, from memory, they exchanged that stop with Glasgow. Edinburgh was a great stop. We did a ship tour to Paris from Le Havre and thought it was a waste of time as the drive to Paris was about 2 hours and we only had time to the see the sights from a wet bus window. We are doing another cruise from Southampton later in the year and will stop at Paris on the way for a few days an then train it to London. I was going to suggest London activities but just noticed you are from the UK so I'm guessing you don't need any help.
  7. Our fares down here are usually a lot higher than yours and it it isn't just the gratuities. Usually way higher than just that. We also do not have gratuities included when we get the Plus or Premier package for non Aust/NZ cruises. For example we are doing a Norway and Scandinavia cruise in July and we have Plus, however I still pay the auto grats (if I wish to). They are not included in our Plus fares.
  8. Well the App has improved out of sight so I assume they read the forum and take notice of comments.🤣
  9. Agree with you and @Thrak. Our Connoisseur tour was one of the best trips we have done anywhere. It was great having dinner included without having to look for a place in an unfamiliar location. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide. @Tranquility Base arrangements were made which ever way you wanted. If you wanted to sit with people you just let them know. From memory times were staggered at a couple of places to even out the load on the kitchen. What we liked is that wherever we ate we could have whatever was on the menu. If it was a $30 steak or $55 crab, you just picked what you wanted and it was included in the cost.
  10. You can you use the old App through February I think. Whether they extend that timeframe who knows. Other than the fact that you can't access all future bookings in the new App without using your booking number, I personally don't have any major problems with it. The issues I have with the old App are still there with the new so no real change for me.
  11. Not ideal but you can find future bookings by using the booking number. Like you, my cruises other than the next one aren't displayed as in the old App.
  12. Don't know if it's because you are on board but I just tried the web version of the App and it all opened up ok. Of course even though I selected our cruise in July, when I tried DMW it opened up the days for our cruise in Feb. But that's another story.
  13. No, I meant the comment I had done was in the wrong thread.
  14. With the greatest respect Tom, why have you started another thread on upgrades when you have posted and had replies to the exact same post in the other thread about the same thing.
  15. That is not my experience and all I do is turn off mobile data. I never put my phone on airplane mode and never have a problem with charges. But I think this subject has been done to death in the past.
  16. Perhaps they don't any more. I'm referring to our last cruise about 12 months ago but we have two cruises in the next 4 months so I'll see if they still have them. Personally I'd rather be sent away with a pager than stand around for however long it takes.
  17. Absolutely spot on. I've been banging on about this for ages and suggested along the same lines as you have done. It irritates the hell out of me that you walk up to a Dining Room and you can't get a table yet most of the tables are sitting there empty, supposedly booked. Having so many tables sitting there, when there would also be many no shows, limits their ability to get people in and out. I'm used to it now, I just take a pager head to the nearest bar and drown my sorrows while I wait. I really don't want to reach the 15 drinks allowed in the Plus package but Princess are driving me to hit the limit.
  18. The last time I saw the costs for Cellular at Sea it was about $7 a minute. Even though your phone doesn't have wifi calling, can't you use WhatsApp, Google Meet etc which you can use to have calls, messages etc.
  19. It may have been mentioned in other threads but it seems they have also outsourced their Personal Vacation Planners as well. I got a random email to introduce one. I checked him out on FB and he was from the Philippines. I'd bet he's never set foot on a Princess ship and that I would know far more about Princess cruises than he would.
  20. I can't find where to print the travel summary or luggage tags either. However I always print them from the Personalizer. Boarding times are not allocated any more However the Travel Summary states when boarding commences.
  21. For me on the old App it said I had no packages but then when you click on the view packages link underneath it takes you to the Personalizer which has the options and " purchased" next to the package you have.
  22. Same for me. After reading the later posts on this thread about the Shoreside payment kerfuffle I looked at the App to get a better understanding of what people were going on about. To my surprise when I clicked on the Shoreside payment option my credit card details that I have for the onboard account were already there. I certainly hadn't done it. I'm not overly worried about it. After having had my credit card hacked by mystery overseas transactions twice in the past 18 months (including one for Only Fans - that was fun explaining to my wife that it wasn't me) I think this mob having your card details is no bigger risk than the day to day risk that is there all the time. I just check my statements far more regularly these days.
  23. Agree. I find it unbelievable that people spend thousands on a cruise and then worry about 3 bucks for a wash load if they have to pay for it.
