  1. We got the same thing and it's sitting on the cupboard shelf at home. When you've got the plus package the mini bar setup isn't worth all that much.
  2. It doesn't really make much difference although I suppose assigning a boarding time does even out the arrival time (and congestion) for lots of folks.
  3. We used do like wise but their new system lets people reserve a time slot (approximately) so they may have a seating preference before you. On our last cruise we had standing early reservations although we didn't really need them. I don't know how long they would hold a table if we were a no show.
  4. You sound like you've been on board for a Christmas cruise. While we don't normally eat in the DR for lunch I think we just might give it a try.
  5. Does your iPhone give you an audible alert when receiving a text message on the ship ?
  6. Zoom works without WhatsApp installed but I don't know about calling another phone on the ship. I do know that their texting between phones isn't worth the time since you don't get any audible tone to let you know you have a message. Hence the WhatsApp app. I installed it last cruise & haven't used it since.
  7. Same here and I switched to low salt during my last cruise aboard the ship. They were very accommodating.
  8. There use to be much more shade about 4 or 5 years ago until they removed lots of the natural shade. Maybe to was done on purpose trying to increase sales of the clamshells??
  9. Our experience has always been that the delivery service is extremely slow on the first day. Everyone seem to want to utilize room service.
  10. At first it does sound like a good idea but I guess you can fool anyone at least one time. 😄
  11. In general, how long does it take before the Platinum level is called to board? Once boarding starts it seems to move rather quickly.
  12. We've never experienced that in a Specialty Restaurant, only in the regular DR. I suppose they have to know what to defrost for the next nights meal.
  13. Maybe you could decorate it like people do for their cabin door?

We carried the bottles with us & it went through security without a word being said. (Fort Lauderdale) I also left the ship during a B2B cruise & returned with 1 suitcase carrying only the six bottles so it can't be said that they couldn't see them. Princess might not have approved but security didn't care less.

We boarded (twice) in March with 6 plastic 1 liter bottles in each suitcase. No problem.
  16. We find that the lectures on Princess tend to be repetitive & from what I hear from friends they don't compare to those on HAL or Celebrity. The only time they are of real interest is in the Panama canal or Alaska, otherwise we have to keep up our drinking in order to hit our 15 drink max at the trivia and games events. ðŸĪŠ
  17. Next cruise I'm going to ask if they'll let me order it on a night when it's not on the menu.
  18. I'll go along with your thinking on that. Although we haven't had plumbing problems with the older ships we have had serious AC problems that were attributed to design of the ships cooling system. It made for a terrible cruise and there wasn't much they could do about the situation since back then the ships were sailing filled to capacity. We sail mostly from Ft Lauderdale & always have our choice of older or newer.
  19. That's definitely different than the Caribbean where the typical times were around 7 & & 7:45 PM.
  20. That's one of the things that was an improvement over the old way of doing it for sure. 😉 Also, the medallion also lets you reliably find the location of people on the ship (if they want to be found). The old location using the display boards wasn't to accurate.
  21. Oh, we pick and choose our events also, skipping some of the main shows that we think are annoying as well as sitting in the sun for 8 hours every day. Everyone to their own thing but we won't miss out on the dinner meal in the DR. We always manage to avoid the peak dining times.
  22. Once again, it's only my take on the subject, but letting people reserve a dining time doesn't mean the minute you arrive (especially at the busiest time) guarantee that you'll be seated the moment you walk through the door. I see their reservation system as only a request for a dining time which cannot be guaranteed but they'll do their best to fulfill. Unlike a land based restaurant who will hold a table empty, the ships tables are in use prior to you arriving & considering the number of people eating there every night makes it impossible to hold empty.
