  1. There's paper planes and then there are "paper planes". There's a little more science to it than just folding a piece of paper if you want to really compete. Both fun.
  2. I was told that WhatsApp will work with the intranet only although I haven't tried it for myself since I last sailed with the internet package. Next cruise we've eliminated the expensive Plus package & will live without it. Hopefully the WhatsApp will still work using just the intranet as it made things easier to communicate on the ship.
  3. Unless it gets very crowded they'll probably welcome any business from any Princess level.
  4. Now that I did now know. If so, which ones? I believe you can still use the WhatsApp app to communicate to other phones on the ship (voice & text) but not to call others off the ship.
  5. We sometimes stop by the DR after the show for just coffee & dessert and have never had Club Class but at that time there's no waiting to enter.
  6. It is difficult to see the differences from one cruise line to another unless you has the data to actually compare. I'm only quoting what Bruce Muzz as mentioned over the years and he has the experience from many different cruise lines at his disposal. I believe he still posts but not recently on the Princess board.
  7. Over the years Princess has consistently had slightly older clientele than HAL. (this is what I've been told)
  8. At the risk of alienating some of their most dedicated customers they have begun their change in attitude about what is acceptable on formal evenings. I suppose it a risk they have to take as the older crowd is slowly disappearing and remaining rigid could only drive some people to other cruise lines. Strange thing is, the other cruise line made the change without experiencing any repercussions, or maybe I just wasn't aware of it.
  9. The dress codes on both cruise lines are almost identical so you'll be fine as you described. Some people will insist that Princess is more formal but that isn't true any more.
  10. On the Enchanted if you wanted a seat for Trivia, you had to arrive for the previous show and sit there. Not many people seemed to leave between events.
  11. It's the only recourse that people have if they believe it might do any good. I've never seen much results come of it. i.e.- smoking in casino's and even dress codes. Princess will do only what they feel is best to maintain business. Can you blame them?
  12. Except that the performers do get paid based up the number of shows they do and Princess is cutting back on almost everything lately.... including miniscule items like paper, pens, cabin service, prizes for games, chocolates in the cabins, quality of food, etc.
  13. Can you imagine if that rule was applied to cruise ships. 🙄
  14. I have seen a general menu posted a number of times but if it wasn't I just asked a sous chef during lunch what was on the menu for the evening.
  15. As silly as it sounds, I'd bet they could sell that idea to some people.
  16. It would improve the customer experience but it's just not that simple a change to make.
  17. Having the medallions mailed free is just another meaningless item they added into their packages to entice people to spend money on one of them. Maybe they can issue special medallion colors to let everyone see how special they are. 😁😁LOL
  18. I will admit that there are many people that choose not to follow their suggestions in the DR but your examples are a little over the top. We've been on many Enchanted trips and haven't seen the extremes that you present. Sure, they wear shorts on casual nights, some even wear baseball caps & occasionally you'll see someone in a bathrobe at the buffet, but most offenders are usually people not wearing a suit & tie or dressy gown on formal evenings. Princess has reached a happy medium to appease most of their dedicated cruisers.
  19. You can certainly expect for them to do so but as we all know, that's not the case in many circumstances. Perhaps you can voice your concerns in their post cruise survey & they might address the problem. In the mean time you'll just have to turn a blind eye towards all the offenders who see it otherwise.
  20. For that matter you could attend all the parties that evening for free drinks. No one will say a word. btw- No more drooping off an invitation.
  21. It looks like an alternative for those types of people that prefer that style. Enjoy Cunard.
  22. It obvious that Princess is just allowing what many people have been arguing about for years now. They're catering to both sides of the fence as I see it. I seriously doubt if as you say "many are leaving". Where would they go other than Cunard if formal dining meant that much to them. All the other mass market cruise lines have relaxed their dress standards, so why not Princess if the want to stay in business.
  23. Not from what I've seen since the return from Covid vacation. The cutoff numbers for the MT luncheon have been higher than ever and the DR's and ships are packed with cruisers. I guess those formalists really don't mind the lack of enforcement after all. They still have a choice on their personal style of dress.
