  1. Hello all, OP here. Flight arrived 4 pm with all bags. V rep was waiting at bag claim with manifest. Told to wait at seating area with bags until all pax were here, some from ORD. A short wait, then we were led to coach. Was disappointed that V did not porter bags, so got our own with 2 pax we knew from PHL gate. The coach was about half full already, but enough seats for all. FLL very close to port, but with traffic exiting airport, about a 15 min. ride. Driver did load and offload bags at term. Claimed bags and handed off to port porters, who were waiting for us, the last coach to arrive. Security and check in very quick, and we boarded ship. Short safety briefing, then went to cabin. Bags arrived a few min. later. Unpacked, ordered a room service cheese plate, which is of excellent quality, no feta cheese however! Getting ready for dinner.
  2. 45 min prior to Uber pickup, received msg from AA of 2 hour flight delay, 1 pm departure. Called V emergency #, they will notify transfer rep and ship. As long as arrival prior to 4pm, we should make ship. Then received more flight updates, departing 4 pm. Called V emergency # again, and flight has reverted back to 1 pm departure. Waiting at gate, with seatmates, also V pax, on same flight. Before folks say I should have gone in a day early, yes, I know I should have paid Air Plus fee to deviate.
  3. If interested, I started a Live From Viking Star, 18 March 2024, on main Viking board.
  4. Flying in to FLL non-stop from Philly tomorrow morning. Looking forward to being back on Star, and meeting fellow pax. Another pax is organizing a M&M, so will report back when details are known.
  5. We're 2 of said East Coast -- Philly pax -- with an 11am same day flight. Arr. 2pm. Hope all goes well ! And Pool Grill stays open.
  6. In December 2022, cab fare from hotel in Eixample district, Passeg de Garcia, to port was more than it should have been, Uber as yellow cab -- €12 -- but no Uber would pick up -- driver could not be found, so hailed regular yellow cab in front of hotel. Het took us "tourists" the long way around, €20
  7. @cruisedreamer2 The emergency # was not sent with my tags. Received email with # 2 days prior to embarkation. Said to call starting 24 hours prior to embarkation. Thanks for mentioning to add to phone contacts. Just did that.
  8. @CCWineLover Thanks, this was same menu as was on Star December 2023.
  9. From Manfredi's Menu #3: Copied and pasted, from PDF Contorini - side dishes Pomodorini Misti Saltati in Padella sautéed cherry tomatoes Patate Novelle al Tartufo e Rosmarino new potatoes with truffle and rosemary Spinaci alla Crema creamed spinach Asparagi Grigliati grilled asparagus Funghi Saltati in Padella con Ricotta Salata sautéed mushrooms with ricotta Verdure di Stagione seasonal vegetables
  10. I think Clay's menu photo was from the V Voyager app. Manfredis does offer sides. If you have a booked cruise, and a MVJ Account... onboard experience...Dining... Manfredis...sample menu #3 is listed -- opens in a new window on desktop. (Does not open on my mobile)
  11. You can edit post for about 15-20 minutes. Just delete your copy, then save.
  12. @stretchcruz We'll be back on Star with you. Now wondering which Manfredis menu will be offered. On Star 28 December 2023, Manfredis waiter said they have 4 menus. Now up to 5. On MVJ, #3 listed.
  13. On Viking website: Find cruise you are interested in. Find Itinerary tab -- will list itin each day. Open each day -- will show list of all possible tours -- not every one usually offered. Open each for tour description. Does not show cost. Usually 1st tour listed -- will show as included -- open for tour description. Hope this helps.
  14. I do not see any 20 - 30 somethings in O brochures or web adverts.
  15. Many topics here on travel agent benefits for Viking. With all types of opinions, pros and cons of using agents vs. direct booking.
  16. 2 prices for cruise: 1. SM with air, including Shorex credit (only) 2. SM without air, including Shorex credit (only) Cruise only cannot be booked. Hope this helps explain fare pricing.
  17. Have taken 3 VO voyages. Guitarist on each. Last cruise, on Star TA, the singer/guitarist was on her 1st contact. Our friends did not appreciate her style (wife is a professional symphony musician), although wife and I found her to be fine for a lounge performer. 1st VO, Venus, Greek Odyssey Dec. 2021, the guy was really excellent, but can't remember his name. Had everyone singing along to Sweet Caroline one evening. Lots of fun! Have found that individual Entertainers can, and do, vary in quality. We have been happy with the overall entertainment team on each cruise.
  18. Irons and board available in Launderette. Most pax will set a wash/dry -- timer/alarm on phone for alert for when done. Have always found V pax to be courteous and respectful of others using Launderette. No softener or dryer sheets. Usage of your own discouraged.
  19. @JYDCruise Thanks for continuing the topic. Enjoy your 1st O cruise!
  20. After reading more about O vs V vs SB, I would like to experience the SB product. Have looked a little, but fares do seem to be quite high. Will have to do a thorough side by side cost analysis of inclusions, to see how each compares to the others. Have taken 3 VO cruises, with another soon upcoming. Have taken mostly all included shorex. Some terrific, others, not so. With V, included shorex are but 1 of many other reasons we value on their ships. We, so far, have enjoyed the total experience. If you've not checked the "Post Viking Promos" topic on the V board, one will learn of sales, and new itins. They are mostly targeted emails, but codes will work for all pax. All pax do not receive all sale emails.
  21. OP @FetaCheese here. Thanks to all who have provided info. I most likely read the email to quickly. Should have read it a couple more times, for better understanding.
  22. @Vineyard View I note that Viking has introduced several new Med itins. Agree that their fares are high. They have sales promos which do lower the cost. I'm not a V cheerleader, but will be going on 4th V cruise, over 3 1/2 years.
  23. Just checked B1on Regatta, Cruise only $4,149. Did your TA give you the $3,900 fare ? Since we already went to Alaska last year, not sure about going again, but thank you. Considering an O Carib cruise in Nov. from East coast.
  24. From my email: MY VIKING JOURNEY Final Reminder As a final reminder, we ask that you review MyVikingJourney.com. Before you depart on your Viking cruise, personalize your cruise experience and ensure you have booked all of your excursions, dining and spa treatments. MY VIKING JOURNEY You have two days to adjust bookings online. Bookings will then close before your cruise sets sail. Once you arrive on board, you will again have the ability to manage your included and optional shore excursions and dining options, with one exception—all shore excursion bookings within the first two days of sailing will be locked-in and non-refundable. Please remember both included and optional excursions must be booked prior to departure. Also, pre-registering your credit card prior to your departure will save you time during embarkation check-in. We are looking forward to welcoming you on board soon! http://email.vikingrivercruises.com/assets/responsysimages/vrc/contentlibrary/_images/assets/_icons/social-icon-facebook.png http://email.vikingrivercruises.com/assets/responsysimages/vrc/contentlibrary/_images/assets/_icons/social-icon-youtube.png http://email.vikingrivercruises.com/assets/responsysimages/vrc/contentlibrary/_images/assets/_icons/social-icon-instagram.png http://email.vikingrivercruises.com/assets/responsysimages/vrc/contentlibrary/_images/assets/_icons/social-icon-pinterest.png 5700 Canoga Avenue, Suite 200, Woodland Hills, California 91367 ©1997-2024 All Rights Reserved | Advertisement CST: 2052644-40 Unsubscribe | Privacy Policy | Terms & Conditions | View Web Version
