On Star last month, Manfredis had the best "Grill Man", Joseph. He prepared my Viking Bistecca correctly to my order preference, a couple of times. I complimented him each time when I saw him, as he works the Pool Grill during the day. An experienced "Broiler Chef" (another title) is necessary for a top tier restaurant to remain so.

On Star, Dec/Jan. they had Buf Trace in Explorers and Aquavit. Tried it for 1st time, but did not really fancy It's flavor profile. Preferred Woodford Reserve.

Also Bourbon guy here. On Star last month, enjoyed Woodford Reserve with SSBP. Was always asked if it should be a double. You know my answer.

Took the Laundry Tour on Star last month. Very interesting. They really strive to launder clothing as if their own.

Hello my friend Jonthomas. On our Regatta cruise last Sept, we had the nightstand clocks. A very nice amenity.

Menu pictured above is same as we had on Hawaiian Islands Sojourn, Star, 28 Dec 2023. Was also told they have 4 different menus, but only this one was offered. Regrettably no Osso Bucco, and no Amarone Chocolate dessert. Had the new Castanea dessert, and it was fabulous.

Was on Star, Hawaiian Islands Sojourn 28 December 2023. All 4 Hawaii ports on itin. were visited. 1st was Kuauii. Took included tour to a waterfall, then to a plantation/farm. Took the train ride around the farm, but had to pay train tickets ourselves. IMO, V should have included train tix. Our coach guide was unprofessional, more suited for a grade school field trip. Very silly narrations, no real information given. Highlight was the farm train ride. Would not recommend Maui included tour. Very long coach ride to/from Whalers Village for upscale shopping stop along ocean. Apart from that, it was so truly sad to see in person during drive, the perimeter of Lahaina burn zone. All those shells of peoples home lost.

Just off Star. Had Lamb Shank in The Restaurant. Was one of the best meals on voyage. Braised tender, falling off the bone, and seasoned to my liking, really a huge shank (from hind quarter -- larger and meatier than forequarter shank which has a longer, thinner leg bone). Prepared just like Greek Style. Exec Chef was Joseph Dabassious, a real pro.

Sorry, meant to respond to @duquephart Bourbon guy here. Just off Star. Learned from another pax that many more premium bourbons are available, that are not listed on Various bar menus. Makers, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Kentucky something. All are available on SSBP. Aquavit bartender told me that whatever is on shelf , not just Bourbons, is available to SSBP pax. Really enjoyed Woodford Reserve. Tried Buf Trace, but didn't care for flavor profile. @duquephart

@Sthrngary Thanks for your many issue resolution scenarios. I wish I had read about your methods of proposed resolution last year, prior to when an issue arose regarding my booked O cruise. Unfortunately, I just accepted what my TA told me was O's response to the issue. It was not satisfactory to me. In hindsight, I should have pursued the issue with O, in a similar manor as you would have done. Lesson learned to be applied going forward.

Would have loved to have Baklava on recent Star voyage. On my 1st V cruise, Greek Odyssey, V did a super fabulous authentic Greek buffet in WC. Included 3 types of Baklava, in addition to so many fine food preparations. Greek cheeses were phenomenal!

Viking has an app, with lots of functionality. We really liked it, and used it everyday.

Just off Viking Star. Internet service was superior to O Regatta Sept 2023, Alaska. O internet would not allow audio only from my local NPR station app. Viking...no problem.

At risk of appearing less than intelligent, I found the mensa quizzes very difficult. Others at our trivia group, Regatta 07 Sept, were much more adept at the answers.

Just off Star Hawaiian Islands Sojourn, 16 nights. My friends dined at Manfredis about 8-10 times. We dined there 4 nights. Always 7:30 or later. Was never a problem for Maitre D Alex.
