  1. I guess all things are possible but it is highly unlikely I would think. I have done several times and not been burned but there is a first time for everything.
  2. We were on Pride of America back in November last year. We had a few nights of specialty dining that was excellent. But each night at the MDR was very very poor. We couldn't reserve anything, it was first come first served. Typically, we waited 30-45 minutes before being seated. Service, once seated was really really slow. One night it took us almost 15 minutes to get someones attention once we had been seated. It seemed one set of waiters thought we belonged to the other set and the that set thought we belonged to the first set. Food was just okay. I understand that POA is a little different than other NCL ships so my experience may be atypical of NCL. I want to be fair.
  3. For almost everyone yes. Sadly, since you are a Californian it won't be quite that simple. There is an extra form that our notary required. Just bring this form to the notary and they will know what to do. You'll just have an extra document show at the port.
  4. It's interesting how our experiences differ. I have only one NCL cruise and it was the chaos of their MDR and wait times for their MTD dining that were one of my biggest complaints. I'm glad it was good for you. My last MTD on Royal was back last August on Ovation. The first night seemed chaotic and disorganized but after that went pretty well.
  5. What kind of suite gets priority MTD reservations in the MDR?
  6. I made an even dumber mistake... I booked airline tickets from London to Oslo with a Norwegian Air for myself with the name Dave. Of course my legal name, passport and all documents say David. I didn't realize what I did until a week before we left for London and two weeks before we were supposed to take that flight. Thankfully a very helpful Norwegian agent on the phone sorted it out. You know you are bad off when you screw up your own name.
  7. Yes 7-12 months out it should show up in cruise planner. No, suites don't get any kind of preference.
  8. I have bid from weak to medium to strong and I am 0/7 on my cruises since the restart.
  9. I feel a little guilty. I have done almost nothing to celebrate Canada Day. I did have Tim Hortons coffee this morning but that has been it. Maybe I'll wear my Team Canada jersey when we go eat tonight. DW is going to complain though.
  10. My suspicion is that if it looks like wine, it'll be treated like wine. They aren't going to check alcohol content.
  11. We were there on Oasis when Freedom was there also (March 2023). I didn't feel it was crowded but I didn't use the waterpark so don't know how that felt. We had a Chill Island beach bed. The walk to the food wasn't bad and we were able to easily get what we wanted without waiting in line. We quickly found an available table. I'd think between the two ships we were at about 9000~ people. My next trip to Cococay isn't for 6 more cruises on Icon, November 2024. However, I scored a Breezy Bay beach bed for $219 the other day. Since it is just the two of us cabanas make no sense. Beach beds are more than adequate and at that price I'm pretty happy.
  12. This!! Keep checking each morning. I was surprised how quick reservations disappeared. You'll get to see everything but maybe not your preferred times.
  13. Just as a follow up. I always try to get to the skating early. That one does can fill up and I have seen people standing at the back or sitting on the stairs at some shows. Thankfully, they have multiple performances per week usually two on the same day.
  14. Yes you can swap between devices at your leisure. It is very straight forward. They don't provide you with a login, you create your own that is used on whatever device you want. Yes it is limited to one at a time if you purchase the 1 device package.
  15. I love the fresh squeezed OJ and get it all the time. The yellow beverage they serve in the WJ and MDR in the morning and call orange juice is awful. The fresh squeezed stuff is the only way to go.
  16. Have this form notarized and you will be fine... We did it last year and it was accepted without problem. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/minor-traveling-without-parent-or-guardian-form.pdf
  17. There is nothing that requires booking on any ship smaller that Oasis and Quantum. Bookings aren't necessary. There is plenty of room in every venue for everyone who wants to get a seat.
  18. This last one I used it by paying down a cruise I have booked. However, the previous one I did it with cruise planner purchases.
  19. I always tell folks to read the wikipedia page for the play. It'll give you a quick synopsis and aid your understanding what is happening.
