  1. The soda package is no longer offered. They have also stopped offering the Taste of the Vines wine packages that offered wines by the bottle. The only packages available now are the complete beverage packages that includes all sorts of drinks. They have versions with and without alcohol.
  2. We were with a friend who was turned away from the dining room on a Paul Gauguin cruise for wearing sandals with his long pants and button down shirt. Their dress code is similar to Princess’ smart casual every night. Men must have closed toed shoes though. Luckily he did have some.
  3. No one can predict whether the policy will be enforced on any ship on any given night. If eating in the MDR is important to a passenger, they should plan accordingly.
  4. I think you are confused about what the check in process is. The medallion app has nothing to do with the medallion device that had replaced key cards aboard ships. Check in is now done on mobile devices using an application rather than a website. Unless the passenger has a medical device that makes using a cell phone or tablet unsafe there should be no issues.
  5. We had a great experience with Thumbs Up Tours. They were very quick to reply with information and easy to book with. The meeting information and itinerary were both very clear. Our guide, Marcos, was very professional and very knowledgeable. I’d feel comfortable suggesting booking with them for any tour. Our choice was the small group highlights tour and we enjoyed it. We were able to see a lot of wildlife as well as gain real insights into the history and culture of Costa Rica. Lunch at Ti-Ko was a simple, typical Costa Rican meal but the view was exceptional. It was breathtaking and seeing a toucan sitting in the tree next to our table was the icing on the cake. At $79 it was a much better option than a similar ship excursion.
  6. Using the medallion app for check in shouldn’t have anything to do with his reluctance to use the medallion device. Unless you mean that he is unable to use a cell phone or tablet due to his medical needs you should be able to check in with the app.
  7. Signs on the Island Princess say 8 am to 10 pm this week. If you carry your laundry on you should be able to start it right away on any ship.
  8. There is way way to filter the options except to see the activities that you have bookmarked
  9. What you quoted says very clearly that shorts are not allowed in the evening
  10. I am so sorry for your loss. Glad you are finding comfort in your many happy memories!
  11. The only personalization possible is to show the activities you have bookmarked
  12. That’s true, it doesn’t always populate, but it’s certainly worth looking
  13. I’ve seen it start populating as much as 60 days before sailing. There is no firm rule though
  14. It’s possible you will make it but it’s also much more possible that you won’t. I wouldn’t try it unless you are completely comfortable with missing your flight. If that idea stresses you at all, don’t book. I believe first walk-offs were around 7 when we were there in August
  15. You can see a lot of information for your cruise in the Journey View Activities Timeline in the app. It usually populates before sailing
  16. Reserved seating will be available from those with the premier package starting in February https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/
  17. You can probably find more in your cruise contract https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/before-you-board
  18. You can see the schedule for your sailing in the Journey View activities timeline in the app. It can populate as much as 60 days before sailing
  19. If you can’t see the link, just Google CCL Stockholder Benefit https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f
  20. The problem with going directly to a table is that there is always a chance that it is still occupied or hasn't been cleared. I think staff want to be sure that tables are ready before people approach them. It would work great for people who want to eat when the MDR first opens though.
  21. I think restaurants do assign specific tables to parties at least sometimes. I see reserved signs on tables pretty frequently. It's especially common in restaurants with desirable views or outdoor spaces, etc.
  22. I haven’t had that experience. Our reservation always seems to be for the time and dining room we book not changed to the same every night
  23. The last two cruises I was on had separate lines for those who were walking in and those with reservations. I think it’s common now.
  24. We generally book between 7:00 and 7:30 and in 5 cruises haven’t had a problem with having wait. A few times we’ve requested a specific table and been given the choice to wait or be seated elsewhere if the people there before us were taking more time than expected.
