  1. Hope you feel a lot better soon Kalos and taking extra special care , also I hope mrs K is well too .
  2. Glad to had a lovely evening in Bournemouth and I hope you have a wonderful cruise on Arvia with better weather than your leaving here .
  3. Well I’m home from my Mediterranean cruise and a lovely cruise it was , as you know visited some lovely places by the amount of photos I posted 😂 . Got fed up of eating and drinking in the end so tonight’s dinner was sliced tomatoes on toast and a bottle of water , and this is the first time I have ever come back from a holiday and not unpacked and done several washes but instead I went shopping in Tesco for a full week shop and by the time I done that which was 1 o’clock I put my pjs on and rested for the rest of the day , we were both just exhausted. It was a good cruise we had the usual comedians, magician magic bones and Tom Ball from Britain’s got talent, the trawler men again , a lady welsh singer who was good but I can’t remember her name , and our cruise director Dan who is very good and funny sang opera with her one night which he is a brilliant singer. We had 3 formal nights which the first one was the champagne waterfall with the captain, the one in the middle was nothing special, the the last one meeting the captain and officers and for the very first time we won a bottle of fizz which was very nice and we had it sent up to the dining room to have with dinner. Everyone of the staff was fantastic always happy and wanting to help the more elderly get chairs , we had a good dinner table each evening at 8 o’clock in the same section we asked for and it was a table next to the window reserved for us brilliant for watching the sunset and dolphins swimming by . We had a inside cabin at the front of the ship on deck 8 which was very convenient to just walk up one flight of stairs at night after the theatre show , it was a quiet room and we did not hear our neighbours and I believe there were children just down the hall we met once , our cabin steward was good and we had the room serviced twice a day . Our only bug bear was the theatre seating with certain seats blocked off for premier paying guests which they blocked off quite a lot and they hardly got used but they did release these 5 minutes before the show started and most of all which I think is a health and safety matter is peoples standing at the back up the top blocking the view of the people that are seated behind them and sitting on the stairs of the exit so if you wanted to leave the show you had all these people sitting on the stairs, some officers did come in one night and asked them to move but as soon as they go they come back and just ignored the grunted people from behind who couldn’t see 🤬 . so all in all I hope I didn’t upset anybody with my photos I hope some of the pictures gave you a little insight of the places if you haven’t been to them before and some of the dining opportunities you can have on board some $$ and some $$$ with wine pairing which we did .
  4. Apologies for not replying sooner, we are just about to disembark sky this morning, so our view is now that there was always someone dining roughly about 15 at lunchtime and about 20 in the evening but still plenty of free tables left .
  5. Good morning everyone hope you are all keeping well and safe and Avril I hope you’re able to sleep a bit better now the weather is cooling a bit . It was Sardinia yesterday and it didn’t start off to well but that was my fault, because it was a tender port the first one was at 8 o’clock and this was too early for us , we wanted 9 o’clock but the steward wouldn’t give me a ticket for then because they call them in groups and not times so I choose a few rows of cards along her box , as things we’re working out I probably chose a 12 o’clock one , so after waiting some time we got another one and eventually got on the island at 11.15 so a few hours waiting . we walked all round the old town wall and in the tiny streets and there was many coral shops which I think is their main thing. I ended up buying two dresses though instead because the coral earrings were pretty expensive the ones I liked anyway, so we spent about 2 hours walking around and decided we’d had enough and went to catch the tender back and was met by a huge line to join but good as princess is we we’re also given umbrellas to shade under , cold flannels and cold water and the line moved pretty quickly I don’t think we waited anymore than 15 minutes, all in all a very enjoyable day .
  6. Happy 58th wedding anniversary to mr & mrs Terrierjohn have a lovely cool day 🥂🍾
  7. Good morning everyone we are in Sardinia this morning so we our waiting for our water shuttle number to be called out , it’s looks another beautiful sunny hot day again and captain said it was going to be hotter than yesterday and Rome was 33 and we walked 10k. 🥵 when we got back on the ship we showered and got ready for our special Caymers wine experience dinner and it was fantastic so the pictures at the end are that . Enjoy your day everyone and keep yourselves cool 😎
  8. Morning all we had a very long day yesterday and it was hot , we were on a coach then a boat ride then and train ride and back on a coach all in all a 10 1/2 trip to visit the five small villages that hug the coast and at the end some pictures of the marble mountains.
  9. I went to Kalos namesake today and it was as classy as him 😉
  10. Good morning everyone in hot sweaty uk , hope you’re all keeping safe and cool. Yesterday we were in Barcelona we got of the ship at 8.30 and the temperature was ok first thing, we walked many miles today along las Ramblers and a trip into the Boquirea market which was a slight and wonderful smell experience, we then started to walk to the gothic part of the city and further on but for some reason my heal was very sore and getting more and more painful as the day went on so we decided to go back to the market and have some lunch there which was good. The weather was getting quite hot now and I was happy my husband brought my fan , some pictures of the market offerings. Tonight’s dinner was a little disappointing only because of what I chose because my husband’s was fine , he had chicken pot pie and I had liver & onions , but the best thing was we had lots of dolphins swimming by as we sat and had dinner. All the evening shows have been good in the theatre so far and even our cruise director Dan can certainly bang out an opera song . Some pics of the market and a little health & safety one .
  11. This is the second time I wrote this so if it’s turned up somewhere else my apologies 😂. We had a very good sunny hot day in Cadiz yesterday , this time we docked somewhere different from where we docked 10 years ago, we have already walked along and around the sea wall along the beach and back through the beautiful garden so this time we explored the town and went to some cathedrals and churches and a ancient anthem theatre and some wine shopping 😉 we got back on ship after walking for 4 hours that was enough for me so we had a light lunch and sat on top deck and had a swim to cool down but it became too hot for us so we went to our cabin and watched a film and snoozed , got ready early for dinner and went and sat at the wakeview bar for the sail and a couple of margaritas, then we visited the cocktail bar and sat chatting to some lovely Americans. Dinner in the mdr has been lovely and hot and we seem to get a lovely table with a sea view every night and a lovely waiter, there is only about 5 tables in the side bit so is much quieter than being in the middle of the dining room which can be quite noisy. Today we are sat in the sanctuary and a slight breeze is keeping us cool , we are very very happy we managed to bag the sanctuary beds for the full sea days we booked because it’s a bum fight out there and it was early this morning and no one could find a sunbed by 9 o’clock. Just waiting for our lunch to arrive now , a few pictures of Cadiz and our view in the sanctuary.
  12. Michelle I’m so sorry to hear about your grandson and I hope he recovers very quickly and with out and complications, such nasty and cruel people in this world. Im pleased you had a lovely holiday with your other grandchildren and they really enjoyed it too , now the children are back to school the weather picks up 🥵
  13. Well a very windy day today then it rained later for most of the day , so just done some ironing today for formal night tonight so got ready early for that and sat in the atrium for a couple of hours people watching and watching the officers build the champagne tower , then we had a reservation in the Italian 6 courses and you need not to eat all day to eat in that restaurant, to start with we had breads and oil and balsamic vinegar to dip in first , I didn’t photo that but here it goes 😅mushroom risotto
  14. Sky princess departed from the QE II on Saturday and we will return to the mayflower terminal. I’m certainly glad we didn’t leave the mayflower terminal on Saturday because the traffic was horrendous at 10 in the morning, grid locked .
  15. Sorry maybe I used the wrong word saying I was watching, really meant to say I was passing past Alfredo’s and have been several times over the past two days and it was the waiter standing at the entrance station that spoke to me first so I made polite conversation, it is early days on the cruise and it’s not totally full and the weather is lovely and hot so I think most people were outside sunbathing because they were packed in like sardines . We are on the old plus’s package and certainly not up grading. It is early into the cruise and maybe it will get used more later but certainly a different story from when I was on sky 10 weeks ago and people were queuing from 11.30 to get in and people been put on a list for a time .
  16. Quite agree as I went through being a school teacher for quite a few years teaching military children, but we all get our rewards later in life , I was very busy being a teacher during the day and a driving instructor at night , work hard when young and play when older and rewards will come 😀
  17. I’m currently on sky princess and been watching the dinning at Alfredo’s and it has been literally empty since boarding day only a few people eating in it , I spoke to the waiter’s tonight and they said since the change it’s been heaven and hell since the change hardly anyone eating there now and hopefully they will change it back , ( yeah right ) obviously it’s less work for them but it’s empty all the time .
  18. I boarded sky on Saturday and apart from the traffic in Southampton because of 4 ships in the ques in the terminal was very good and we checked in at 10.35 boarded at 10.45 but that was elite first then platinum and suite and on board at 10.55 , hardly any ques but it could be different if you are not platinum or elite
  19. I’m currently on sky princess going to the med and no sun bed hogs this morning but it is only second day and at 10 o’clock this morning you could still get prime beds around the pool and the aft pool over looking the wake .
  20. Enjoy Zapp and I hope you don’t get to much ear ache for it being too hot 🥵
  21. Had a chill day today with a port lecture on Cadiz then went to the normal talks on gems etc to collect my cheapie necklaces and bracelets for my 9 yr old granddaughters , been very sunny and hot , smooth seas and the pool in the middle of the ship is sardines packed in a tin ( not for me ) looking forward to my sanctuary bed tomorrow, had a few of these 12 crt gold margaritas and a good lunch in the buffet, roast dinner with turkey and lamb , Bircher mullesli for breakfast in the international cafe which is lovely and quite in the morning.
  22. Today’s planer for those that are coming on in the near future for the first time , just a idea of what goes on etc
