Hi all , I think I may have made a mistake and booked this cabin for my Alaska cruise, I’ve not done my homework correctly and I have now just found out it has a metal post/ support on the balcony! Can anyone that has stayed in this aft cabin tell me how much of a disadvantage it is for views, I choose it because it had a big balcony but now having second thoughts can anyone who have stayed in there tell me about it , many thanks

My deposit today was £1693 so a lot more than you guys pay but we have flights involved but no hotel packages yet because it’s so early she said they have not put together a package. But I’m very happy we have booked today.

I would just like to say thank you Havedogwilltravel for this information , I booked today a aft balcony on deck 11 , my travel agent had to go hunting for the cruise on princess because they are not out fully over here but at least I got a price and a aft balcony on deck 11 sheltered I think , so roll on 2025 .

Hi all , I’ve been following along reading all this information about Alaska and this will be our very first time going to Alaska so we wanted to get it right . we really like the 22 day ultimate Alaska cruise on the Ruby princess and would book a balcony cabin , can anyone give any recommendations what balconies would be best , port or starboard side ? and most importantly are any of the balconies protected from the elements with a over hang, any tips are welcomed.

Hi Sarah, I don’t think you can know until you’re on board and check straight away and then possibly try and move your booking to the following week when they change it , maybe someone on the roll call before your sailing might be able to help or someone writes a bit of review before you go ! some roll calls carry on during the cruise I know mine did with plenty of information still going on in the two weeks and that’s where you could ask the question there maybe.

Good morning all it’s a lovely sunny day here again, looking after two grandchildren today because some of the secondary schools have broken up already and mums are still at work, so we had cooking lessons this morning and we made breakfast croissants filled with sausage, bacon, cheese, cooked in the air fryer, I managed to save two for my husband who’s gone to the dentist, then we’re go the beach for a walk I think , we had lunch on the beach yesterday with a bottle of bubbles our first this year so hopefully many more while weather is good 😊

Michelle I’m so sorry to hear of your breast cancer news and I’m sure you will get the best possible treatment starting really early for you when you see your oncologist next week, we are all here supporting you well wishes and great strength to get through this. Also I’m sorry to hear about your elderly dog been diagnosed as well , thinking about you tonight with a little prayer, best wishes in the forthcoming treatment.

We’re also on sky princess again in September and have this time booked sabatinis for the first time and looking forward to it after many recommendations, we were on sky in June this year as well but we down the Crown grill and chef’s table which both were lovely, so we have booked sabatinis twice this September and I’ve heard you need a empty tummy 😋

I’m really enjoying your report selbourne and it’s good to hear your enjoying your cruise apart from the little hiccups that’s been going on with the buffet and the table queuing on the app , it’s been a while since I’ve been on a P&O ship , Arcadia was my last one last October, we had set dining times at 8.30 each night but I do know people we’re having too wait extremely long times on the app and in due course changed to set dining. I enjoyed your photos of Allesund it brought back my holiday memories of a few weeks back on a princess cruise, we took the blue noddy train up to the top of the viewing point and around town and the harbour it had commentary while going along , I had quite a bad accident the day before so I was taking it easy and not walking anywhere but I found getting into the train a bit tight so that would be exceptional hard for a disability person to try and climb in , it’s a shame they don’t make these trolley trains a bit wider access and lower . I hope the rest of your cruise goes without any more glitches and your next dinner in the epicurean is as good has graham and Pauline’s nights . Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Sorry Andrew about your sad news of your brother in law , it’s understandable you’re feeling a little weary taking care of your sister and obviously worried for her being alone and all the driving etc , you’ve earned to be a little lazy now and again and rest up , take care .

Good morning everyone, well time is running in and we’re be home in a few days, a little looking forward to it for just some cooler air 😂 took dad for a walk along the harbour and beach yesterday which was pleasant and not too busy then back home a few lengths in the pool and cooked a roast dinner!! Yes in this heat my husband still loves his roast on a Sunday.

Glad you had a lovely time on sky , you must of embarked when we got off on the 17th , push those driving memories out of your mind now , relax and enjoy your other half’s driving instead of coach travelling.
