  1. You're welcome. I have read that quite possibly, the reenactment of the dinking of the wench is no longer taking place, but of course, things may change. If I'm not mistaken (and this was back in 2018), it was under $100 for 2 of us. I believe the charge was per person and the tour was about an hour. Although it sounds pricey, it was well worth it to see a city through a local's eye, all while riding in a horse-drawn carriage.
  2. If you go to St. George in Bermuda, try to be there sometime around midday, where, at certain times, they do a re-enactment of a dunking in King's Square (if, post-covid, this is still going on). It's pretty funny, like a 15 minute, one act play. Also, we took a horse and carriage ride thru St. George. The carriages were found in King's Square also. We had a lovely driver, Crystal, from Bronco Stables, who took us around the real life places in town, and even to her home, which was basically a working farm-type area, with various animals and flowers and vegetables. Along the way she made various stops and was always explaining things about the island. It was a great way to tour St. George. If you go to Horseshoe Beach, I would suggest taking the mini-bus shuttles that are located in the parking lot on your right as you are walking from the ship to the dockyard area. $7 one way. They actually take you down the hill at Horseshoe, which can be quite a walk if you take the public bus, which only stops at the top. To get back to the dockyard, these shuttles will be waiting at the bottom of the hill. No reservations! We always visit the Frog & Onion Pub in the dockyard for a craft beer (and some free wifi, if you need it). Wednesday evenings there is a celebration in Hamilton, called Harbour Nights. Lots of vendors set up outside along their waterfront street and a parade with their Gombay dancers also happens - fun to watch. Just be warned that this can get crowded, and if you actually want to sit at a restaurant with views of the parade, it might be difficult, unless you arrive really early. Easiest way to get here is by public ferry, which is $5 one way, I believe. It departs the dockyard and Hamilton on a set schedule. As for the Summit, just enjoy! I loved the fact that it was a smaller ship, and it seemed you would run into the same people all the time, and actually get to have conversations. A more relaxing cruise compared to the mega ships, where you feel the need to try everything (case in point - I was recently on the Oasis). Main dining room food was great, as were the buffet selections. Now, I assume that things may have changes some since Covid, but probably not the quality. Also, the pastries at Cafe al Bacio are great (and free), and if you have the beverage package, try some of their specialty coffees. One thing I've learned from CC is to ask for an affagato, which is gelato with espresso poured over it. It's not on the current menu, but according to some recent Celebrity cruisers, they'll make it if you ask. I haven't tried it yet but Jim-Iain here on CC swears it's the best thing at the cafe.
  3. I have a Samsung A42. But not interested in any tech work arounds. My package allows for two devices to be logged in at one time, I assume, since it specifically states I have wifi for 2. I guess I'll find out how the premium works when I board and how to switch it between the two devices.
  4. Thanks to everyone who answered my question. Unless I actually get high speed on both (by accident!), I guess I'll have to mostly do the log on/log off thing. I'll mostly be using my phone during the day, and my Fire late evening if I want to try and stream some recorded TV show, or even stream my available television shows from my provider, although not sure if even high speed WiFi would be good enough.
  5. Hi. Sailing solo on the Summit in June 26th. I have the all inclusive package, including the basic wifi. Even though I am solo, it's for 2 devices. Last week I called to upgrade to the premium wifi, for which I paid for a one device upgrade. Since I am bringing 2 devices onboard - a phone and an Amazon Fire, how do I switch the premium wifi between devices? Do I just have one device logged onto the wifi at a time? I really don't want to spend time in line at the internet desk after boarding - that's a waste of good enjoying the ship time! TIA!
  6. @GenerationXYou may want to follow this review when you get a chance - it is going to be from the Summit, leaving a week from today (same cruise I will be on). Since I usually fail spectacularly when it comes to taking pictures on a cruise, or even writing short reports, bnurick's review will probably be a success.
  7. Myself, my daughter and my son-law will be joining you on this cruise! This will be my 4th cruise to Bermuda - it's a beautiful island with beautiful beaches. All of the people there are so friendly and helpful.
  8. I will try, although I can't promise. I tend to not take many pictures, leaving that job to my daughter.
  9. Looking forward to another Megan review, but I will admit to being just a little disappointed at the "No Megan 15" rule for this cruise!
  10. I was just wondering a few days ago when I would see another review from you, and here we are! Thanks in advance for all of your posts and pics. Myself, heading off on the Summit in about 10 days, the first of 3 Celebrity cruises scheduled for the next 9 months. Can't wait!
  11. Hmm, I called this morning at exactly 8:00 AM EST to upgrade my drink package/wife on an upcoming cruise. Got through immediately (after pressing all the right buttons), and everything was accomplished quickly.
  12. Toll free number - 1-833-570-2594 (supposed to be used only if traveling within 24 hours).
  13. Great review so far, Sid! Your ship is front and center on the Key West webcam!
  14. Did you use the app, or the Celebrity website? I found that using the check-in on the app, that is where I was asked to upload my vaccination record card. That request is no where to be found checking on on the Celebrity website, which is where I initially checked in.
  15. Hi Jamie. Great review so far. Which bar had the bar snacks?
  16. OMG - I feel like I jinxed you. But it is good to hear that his case of shingles isn't going to stop you from cruising and that you all have negative Covid tests. I'm not doing anymore "hoping" for you, LOL!
  17. @KmomChicagoYou sure do have a lot going on right now. Here's hoping no more monkey wrenches get thrown into your plans.
  18. I know about the Bermuda TA change. My question was more about the actual test report. What is supposedly required is listed here: https://www.gov.bm/covid-19-tests-accepted-bermuda?fbclid=IwAR0_21WTBtiGlzXYtpTKTVEomVuThQBDwpHJYa5lL_nHpaOBY0LPzk4CsZo I just want to make sure that even if you don't have to upload the results, lacking one of the test report requirements won't deny anyone from entering the island. Yes, I am familiar with the Bermuda changes and have read just about all of the main forum posts about them. Meeting all the requirements as posted on the Bermuda website has not been addressed, or perhaps I just missed it, which is why I asked the question. None of those around me offer the rapid antigen tests, only the PCR, and I won't rely on PCR results getting back to me in time. Thanks. This is the answer I was looking for.
  19. Thanks. Now if only Bermuda would update their form since most cruisers won't have to upload test results, yet the form still requires them.
  20. Heading to Bermuda next month, and I noticed on the official Bermuda government website that Covid results must include, in addition to other things, the traveler's contact info (address, e-mail). On my March Norwegian cruise, we ordered the tests from a link Norwegian provided, and the results were from inspiretesting.com. The results appear to have all of Bermuda's requirements except for contact info of the tested person. Is this a problem? We were just going to order these same test kits for our June cruise, but want to make sure these will work.
  21. Yeah! I've been waiting for this review for what seems like ages! Thanks for all of your hard work, Jeff and Patti!
  22. This is going to be great - a Saint Greg and a Jamman review around the same time! Jeff, are you going to review your pre and post cruise time?
  23. Jim, thanks for bringing us along on your current adventure. Sad to see the report end, though! Wishing both you and Iain nothing but the best on your continuing journey.
