  1. I said this somewhere else. Please let the Cabin stewards completely sanitize the Cabins before we all make a mad dash to open the Cabin door flood gates. With the Covid issue still alive and well it's for our safety and the crew's safety.
  2. Just bring your own. Those days of freebies are long gone.
  3. Where Guys and Shaq's are located on the same ships the Shaq's restaurants are becoming much more popular and cruisers are now flocking ro them. My strategic guess is that Guy will be introducing a Chicken sandwich to try and compete.
  4. This is a plea to everyone on this Carnival forum. Due to Covid and the ongoing effects across our County and Abroad, can we please forget about Carnival Cruise Status for a while and allow the Carnival staff to fully sanitize all the cabins before we enter them? It's for the safety of all passengers and crew. If we can just be patient we will all get to our chosen home away from home in time to enjoy the great sail away sailabrations!
  5. You guys have hit the nail on the head. My two favorite leisure activities of all time; Carnival Cruising and Train Rides. Never been attracted to the Alaska cruise thing because my idea of cruising doesn't include heavy coats, long pants and jackets! Enjoy the Cruise wherever it takes you!
  6. Whatever you do try to enjoy the Cruise!! I could reside in a broom closet (and make it work) as long as I am Carnival Cruising!
  7. One of our most favorite Carnival Ships. Just relax and enjoy the Cruise.
  8. There's a reason why we have only sailed on one RCCL ship. It's all about economics, nickel and dime and we just didn't care for the overall experience. Two plus decades of Carnival and growing!
  9. Never used eMed. We make appointments at our local Department of Health. Drive up and they test you in your automobile. Results in about 30 minutes.
  10. Sometimes we can't do anything about negative behaviors and disrespect for others; those things are taught early at home. Hopefully they will eventually learn.
  11. I also welcomed the author to the World of Carnival!! That's what we are supposed to do for our new patrons!
  12. I certainly respect your choice just please respect mine. I did not misspeak and was totally transparent in my views.
  13. Thank you for your analysis of the Carnival Fleet after one Cruise. Let us remind you that this is a Carnival Cruise forum and not those other guys. Welcome to the Carnival Cruise Nuts brigade! Now that's out of the way lets chat. My family and I have been loyal Carnival Cruisers for a very long time. During those many years I have never experienced anything even remotely close to what you are describing. There are personnel shortages throughout the industry; not just Carnival. The reason we are so loyal to Carnival is because we did exactly what you did and many years ago tried one Royal Caribbean Cruise. We were not impressed with the Cruise or the Cruisers and we found out that we spent almost double for the Cruise as compared to Carnival. Long story short we all have choices and preferences when it comes to Cruising. Maybe you will be like me and my family and decide that the other Cruise line was not for us!! Nothing wrong with that choice if that is what you decide. Otherwise welcome aboard and welcome to the Carnival Cruise Nuts forum!!! Long Live Cruising (Carnival that is) !!!
  14. I have witnessed a cruiser get literally run over by a scooter. Just please slow down and get fully adjusted to the scooters operations before venturing too far. Hope you enjoy the cruise!
  15. Any item that is not fried, overly seasoned or sauced to drowning!
  16. Salmon bagel with tomato and mushrooms!!!
  17. There is no intent to disrespect anyone here with my following analysis. There are some cruisers that absolutely have to be the first person on board, the first in line at the customer service desk, the first in line at Guys Burgers, the first person to the cabins. Life is really to short to worry about being the first. We have all gained some form of Carnival recognition from our loyalty to the great brand. I will never abuse my that recognition by trying to be the "first" at anytime and while on any Carnival Cruise. The rules generally say that most cabins will be ready at 1:30 PM or so. Let's just learn to follow the rules as Carnival has implemented them for a specific reason; to maintain order and safety. Let's all continue to enjoy our perks of Carnival Cruising but let's also set the correct examples for our legacy Cruisers that are watching and following our moves.
  18. The guarantee cabin is another whole topic of interest on its own. Basically its a 50/50 chance. We have been fortunate to have received a few great cabin locations using the guarantee method. We have also received a few not so desirable locations but we knew that before accepting the deal. We were once actually offered a true upgrade (zero additional dollars) to a balcony and never questioned the Carnival program.
  19. Your points are right on and well taken. We are fortunate to have retired Medical professionals in our family circle. They are still totally engaged with their former coworkers and are always receiving valuable and up to date medical tidbits. These medical professionals always wore mask and had to take preventive shots on a regular basis. while working and never complained. Because they were not only protecting themselves but others from harmful diseases. My rationale for continuing to test and wearing masks is personal as I have immediate family members that are susceptible to many outside elements. Since Covid appeared I have had no other option but to mask up. So personally when you see me, whether Carnival ever lowers the mask mandates or not, I will still be masked up in public places where many gather unmasked. I just hope that one day those that are so anxious to get rid of the mask will still consider the medically challenged in our society and out of respect at least mask up where masses gather!!!
  20. Saw a very interesting exchange while on our latest Cruise. A man entered the elevator without his mask on. An older passenger kindly asked the gentleman to put on his mask. He said "I don't have one". The older passenger politely pulled one from her purse, told the man that it had never been worn and she handed it to him. He refused to put it on and the older passenger kindly asked him to please take the next elevator. The man was hesitant at first but then saw the stern look from her eyes and stepped off the elevator. I also realize that this probably was not the norm and that most passengers would have not said a word. However the entire elevator clapped when the doors closed. Goes to show that we can still agree to disagree and there is always a viable and somewhat peaceful solution.
  21. In my opinion the pre-cruise testing is the main reason we are all still able to Cruise! It helps identify any potential catalyst that could contribute to an outbreak onboard. I realize that there are increasing outbreaks onboard but there would possibly be many more without the pre-testing! Again "In My Opinion"
  22. Why would Carnival incentivize you with special deals if you are already purchasing cruises at regular retail and contributing to their revenue stream?
  23. Let's hope the Cruise industry does not follow that initiative. I still believe in wearing the mask and testing while flying and cruising. When aboard a cruise ship you are constantly surrounded by other cruise passengers for much longer than a two to five hour flight. Don't know of too many five to seven day flights! Again please let the Cruise industry work out the plans that are the safest for all passengers and crew members.
  24. i so love it when we finally decide to save our hard earned dollars and book an interior cabin. You will certainly realize that you leave at the same time and arrive back at the same time as all other cabin grades. You sleep in beds that are standard size when pushed together and you are now bale to put that Balcony and Suite money toward another interior room Carnival cruise. It's Elementary Watson!! And it also makes sense! Welcome to the Carnival Cruise Nuts wisdom!!!
