  1. Do you know how much a weeklong stay at a hotel in KW would cost? IMHO, unless you want to drink a lot, there's not enough to do in KW to fill a week of tourism. Stopping at KW on a cruise ship opens up one of the cities of this country to people who are not one-percenters. It's more a matter of the wealthy wanting to keep out the 'riff raff', than eco concerns.
  2. I'm interested in seeing where you see any current federal regulations regarding the operations of cruise terminals. The only Federal employees are in the disembarkation area (CBP), not the embarkation area. If you want to blame the Feds, go ahead, but I don't believe they're to blame for this. Many other cruise lines are scheduling embarkation times at the convenience of the passenger and their travel plans, not what the cruise line dictates while ignoring passenger preferences. The government does not have their sticky fingers in how cruise lines schedule embarkations.
  3. Cruise terminals are generally owned and operated by the local Port Authority. State/ City/ County. I'm not aware of any Federally operated cruise ship terminals. Even the security is not done by the TSA, it is handled by the individual cruise line's contractors. Extending or declaring a Public Health Emergency does not grant the secretary of HHS authority to regulate boarding times for cruise ships, it only authorizes certain exemptions of medical funding, federal assistance and investigations, but there is no regulatory authority granted to the HHS secretary.
  4. My cruise departing in February has the gratuities included. I wonder if they'll want me to pay the difference.
  5. This is wrong. The CDC lifted all Covid-19 regulations and now only have suggestions. The cruise industry is no longer under any Covid-19 rules. As much as I enjoy blaming the Government for things, they're no longer to blame for each cruise lines protocols.
  6. We linked our booking with our travelling companions. Does anybody know if we will get the same boarding times applied?
  7. Are you on the NA? See @Florida_gal_50 just posted.
  8. For cruises that have the "standard' protocols, will there still be a VeriFly lane at embarkation? How would one upload documentation which is not needed?
  9. Sounds like they need Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Billy Mummy and Angela Cartwright to be on that space ship...😊
  10. I just don't have any real concerns about the Real Love Boat show, as I never wanted to watch it in the first place. I didn't really follow the original series either, but I think that connection with Princess is cute. Maybe Princess' next vessel will be the Enterprise and it will take us where no cruisers have gone before...🤣
  11. I just downloaded the Verifly app, and it won't accept my booking number. Possibly, because HAL hasn't promulgated the health requirements for 2023 cruises yet?
  12. I'm wondering if HAL still has a separate Verifly lane at terminal check-in.
  13. Since HAL has significantly relaxed health protocols, is Verifly still a good option? My next cruise is in 2023 and HAL isn't putting out 2023 protocols yet. If no testing is required, how do you get Verifly approval if there are no test results to upload? Thank you.
  14. I got the e-mail with that itinerary change on February 14 of this year. I don't know why you only got the e-mail yesterday. How long ago did you put the hold on the cabin?
  15. If there's a wait list for any particular excursions, then I would leave them alone. I would only be switching any excursions that I could immediately rebook right then and there. As an aside, can I wait until I am onboard to book the unlimited laundry package? I'd like to use some OBC for that.
  16. I pre-booked a number of excursions for my next cruise (first on HAL.) I have a ton of OBC and I was hoping to go to the excursions desk once onboard and ask if any excursions are waitlisted. If they're not wait listed, I was looking to cancel at the excursions desk and immediately rebook with the OBC. Will that work? If the money from the CC goes to the onboard account, do they use the OBC up first then go to the refunded cash amounts? Do they refund unused account funds to the original form of payment?
  17. When was the last time you looked at the itinerary for this sailing? The itinerary now showing on HAL's website is the same as it was last February. If you have seen something new, please post it here.
  18. Peacock is NBC, Paramount is CBS. I got a promotional e-mail today and if you scroll down to the bottom of the web page, they do have an ad for the Real Love Boat streaming on Paramount+. I don't usually pay much attention to the promotional materials. I certainly don't pay any attention at all to 'reality' shows.
  19. I get a lot of promotional material from Princess and I don't recall seeing anything in those materials mentioning the Love Boat show. How are they alienating a younger demographic?
  20. I have experienced on cold weather cruises where chair hogs take over tables in the buffet making it difficult or sometimes impossible to find a place to eat in the buffet. I've seen one person taking up a table for 4 playing solitaire and finally had to sit at a table with one older lady sitting alone, holding the other 7 spots with magazines and paperback books. (Obviously hogging the table for others who weren't even in the buffet.) I do believe the tables in the buffet should be reserved for people who are dining, and sipping on a coffee or tea for an hour while reading a book or playing with a phone isn't dining anymore.
  21. Uh-Oh, I hope they don't start voting people off the ship... That would make me sad...☹️
  22. DW & I are going on a 35 day South Pacific cruise. We use pill caddys as we take multiple meds twice daily. Do we need to have the original pill containers as well? None of the pills are controlled substances.
  23. I wonder if one can place a dead horse on a lounger while they are off in the buffet playing cards at a table someone might need to use so they can eat? 🤣
  24. Maybe the OP can clarify if it is the whole Love Boat concept with showing photos of the original cast onboard and the Love Boat horns or is it just the new piece of garbage CBS made. I got the impression that it was the ongoing connection to the original series that prompted the thread, not the "Real Love Boat" show, but I could be wrong.
