  1. Here's a thread dedicated to Haven luggage tags and arrival times (or not...)
  2. I use an old hotel room key card. I want to keep the air conditioning going when I am sailing in hot climates. Make sure you ask your steward to leave the card in place. I have had experiences where the steward removed the card when making up the stateroom. After requesting that from the steward, I've never had them remove the card after that.
  3. What I like about the buffet is having the ability to take small samples of various offerings, deciding which one 'floats my boat' that day and going back for more of that dish. I do not like having to eat a dish in the MDR just because it sounded good on the menu but wasn't so good on the table. But as @Lady Arwen has been writing, having the choice of dining options is what I appreciate when cruising.
  4. I was truly impressed by OP's detailed sampling of the passenger demographics with inclusive percentages. It must have taken a lot of research. The one percentage I noticed missing was the percentage of chronic complainers on the cruise. 🤷‍♂️
  5. If you frequent the cigar lounge, why can't you just tip the bartender and ask him/her to stock your favorite beverage there?
  6. I would be interested in finding out what categories of cabins received the move over offers. When going through the online booking process, I do not see GTY as an option. I do see where they offer to assign your cabin for you, but it looks like they are still asking the same price for the fare. Is that what a GTY is?
  7. I think this offer becomes more attractive and viable if it has been offered for balconies, mini-suites, Club Class Mini's and above. At that level of refund, one could still enjoy a short vacation in the embarkation city (Probably Fort Lauderdale), get a full refund and a free cruise on a later date. I'm not sure that it would be as attractive for an inside - that refund might not cover the costs of a hotel stay in South Florida, car rental and air change fees. JMHO
  8. I may be wrong about this, but I seem to recall that shipping the medallions to other countries would incur additional taxes and customs fees. The payment for the cruise is all done through U.S. locations. Shipping a U.S. product to other countries might trigger fees based on the cost of the cruise. Again, I cannot locate the source of this information, but I seem to recall that is the reason for U.S. only.
  9. Our next booking includes NCL air. Are there any extra benefits from NCL air if we are booked in the Haven?
  10. A word of caution: Since this will be your second cruise, after this, you'll never want to cruise in any other way. Other cruise lines probably will not live up to your expectations if you use the Haven experience as a baseline. I am sure you will appreciate all of the available services and treatment afforded in the Haven. Many other cruise lines do not offer this level of service but then the cost isn't nearly as dear. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Enjoy your sailings... 🛳️ 🚢
  11. Just to make this earlier post clearer, I do not have any experience with this. I am hoping somebody else may have seen this on Santorini.
  12. Does anybody have any experience with Haven preferred return to ship in Santorini, Greece? I'm concerned about the funicular lines with 3 other ships in port.
  13. I'm sorry if this has been addressed before but I really don't want to have to go through thousands of posts to see if this has been asked before now. I have an upcoming NCL cruise, and I am interested in finding out what entertainment and shows will be offered on my sailing. I do not see this information in my cruise summary. Is there a way to find out what shows are being offered? Thank you for any help you can offer.
  14. Is there any advantage to trying to pre-book seating at an entertainment venue or would the concierge be able to help you on board on whatever day you decide you have time and energy to see a show?
  15. @miagirl @Pluto_fan and @mbpengboy - I see where you have been giving some positive reactions to a post I made in 2021. To clarify, I did the download of the Medallion Class App in 2019 and used it very well on a February 2020 cruise. Since then, I tried to use it in late 2021 for a February 2022 sailing and found that although it still shows on my Fire 7, the functionality of the app was severely diminished after Princess 'upgraded' the app. In order for me to get Ocean Ready at that time, the only way to do it was through the app, and I couldn't do it on the Fire 7. I ended up purchasing an inexpensive Samsung Android tablet as that had a new enough operating system for the new version of the app to work. The app still opens on my Fire 7, but crashes sometimes. I do see my next booking on the Fire and it shows me as "Green Lane", so It may work on cruises now as they may have tweaked the app so that it doesn't require a more recent version of the operating system. I won't know if it will still work well until I am onboard next year. I'm interested to know how it works for you.
  16. I don't know if this will help, but here's a thread from last August. Read posts #'s 12 & 13:
  17. Without reading through 70 pages of postings, I'd like to ask for any comments or reviews of the Haven experience on the Breakaway. We did the Haven once before on the Epic and it was a wonderful experience.
  18. Whatever.... I defer to the expert. 🤷‍♂️
  19. That may be true, but why stand out in the middle of a golf course holding onto the metal pin on the green during a thunderstorm? Are those "get struck by lightning" odds also 'discountable'? Why make it easier for the lightning to find you?
  20. When I go through TSA or get off ship for excursions, I use my GE card as my government issued photo ID, It saves wear and tear on my driver license and, I'd rather lose the GE card than my DL or passport.
  21. If you are planning any domestic travel in the near future, look for appointment availability at some of those locations. I am in New York, and when I got GE, I looked at airport locations in NY, NJ, Mass, RI and PA and all locations were a minimum of 6 months out with most having even longer waits. In a few weeks DW & I were going for a weeklong vacation in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and I was able to book our interviews at Dulles in Virginia just 3 weeks out. HMMMMMMMM, you don't think it has anything to do with its proximity to Washington DC do you?? Anyway, it's worth taking a look at including a GE interview during any upcoming trip.
