  1. Only once in 28 cruises did any staff member not get an extra over and above auto Gratuity tip. So you know he was at fault. He was out to lunch 99% of the time, never answered questions or honored any of our simple requests. We are not pills on a cruise and even most times ask for Do Not Disturb. Keep our cabin in ship shape so they do not have to do much to get that extra tip. So what the OP described is inconceivable to me!
  2. I don't hate kids and I don't feel run off either. We prefer to cruise in September for the better hurricane discounts and because it's just after school has started. Believe me when I say, the little nippers don't want to mess with me...at all. And I don't have to use the iron either. They would be begging me to go away! So no, I don't need to change lines. RCCL fits my style, budget and destinations. And I'm too invested. This sort of crap goes on at land based locations too...just something we all have to deal with now...parents seem to be AWOL and nobody cares, so such is life. I'm not letting that stop me, I will not be deterred! LOL
  3. Nope not on your life....I'M not the one afraid of children, I'm the one with the branding iron, remember.
  4. Yes.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.it is. And I have tried many others. Love Celebrity, others not so much. I can afford RCCL and I do have a branding iron. 😉 NOTICE: that was meant as a joke.........🙄
  5. True Dawg, but the point is, it's not the cruise line, it's the mentality and manners of people these days, that crosses all boundaries, any cruise line. You can't escape it.
  6. I pay no attention to "the man behind the curtain". Can't imagine letting the dress code influence my choices in life....I dress for me not anybody else. And if anyone considers that smart Aleck my apologies!
  7. I will be looking for pics of this destruction on Youtube today.
  8. Didn't read the whole thread and I'm sure you've been told this, but that is the main reason for insurance. Anyone with serious health problems should never book without it. It is so inexpensive when you think about it. InsureMyTrip.com And don't think any other cruise line doesn't have the exact same policy...they do!
  9. NOT! Straight to the brig! That may put the fear of God in them.
  10. Call RCCL and ask for them to be linked, they need to give their permission.
  11. My Grandson was almost caught up in an incident once on Freedom...back in the day when the young girls were wearing those wolf tails, did you ever see that? A teen boy was harassing a teen girl and my 15 year old Grandson stepped in to make him stop. He thought he was being a good Samaritan, but I let him know we could have all been kicked off...he got punished by his Mom, not the culprit. The security team did come talk to him but he is a gentleman and they acknowledged that and told him to make a report and never take matters into his own hands. It was a good lesson. He's now in the air force in Italy. But still it rankles that some are allowed to get away with such disrespect for others. Even if they were wearing wolf tails! I hate to think of Beautiful Odyssey with broken elevator glass and such....a pity. In the words of Cpt. Call..."I can't abide rudeness in a man"!
  12. ANd the tornado across that screen behind the action....WOW!
  13. How in the world do they know it was FLU anyway? Who does...ever. Unless you give a sample to be tested it can be just a cold, no FLU shot anywhere will protect you from that or Noro. A chance one takes if you step out your door. Much ado about nothing, but it's their privilege to gripe. I don't cruise to eat so that would never deter me. I cruise for the fantastic feeling we get on the big blue and the fun we have, WE are in control of that, not the cruise line nor any other cruiser.
  14. Until I can no longer move I will be cruising. I am an OCD planner, plan very carefully, and I really believe we get the most for our money, even with the rise in fare and changes in food. To each their own. Hope you have great land vacations in future. But as my moniker says, Keep calm and Cruise on baby!
  15. That's my point, they almost always do make me happy. If it happened a couple times...meh. Into each life some rain must fall, but a little rain can't hurt me.
  16. Didn't say I ate every bite. But one helping is enough. I have left things I didn't like, but on only a couple of occasions have I ordered an additional entree because I didn't like the one they brought first. I hate wasting food, that's all.
  17. I'm calling in with my request for these items. I at least want one set. I think they're nice. Do NOT like the block, won't match my others...boo hiss. But it's ok. And we got these at Diamond level back in the day much less than 340. I have several of the old totes whose zippers broke easily that we got for only being diamond. Hoping these are made a bit better, but looks like they are. Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club: NEW AMENITIES NOW AVAILABLE Your favorite amenities are back in stock — plus we’ve added new ones! We’re introducing stylish new toiletry bags and upgraded totes So at 175 points.
  18. If I am happy and satiated at the end of the meal, everybody gets a 10. I really can't remember if that never happened or not...I guess I'm just a happy kind of traveler. I have made comments to the Matre-d before about what could be prepared better though, and made special requests, but I stand by my mantra, happy and satisfied...a 10~ I don't get annoyed with the constant begging for 10s...I just smile and keep eating!
  19. I have never in over 30 cruises ordered more than one main or dessert. Don't get it. BUT, I am certainly in favor of wasting less food. I've seen too many folks in MDR ordering enough food for several and then leaving most of it on the plate, it disgusts me. At home I use every scrap of leftovers, either to reheat or make another dish out of it like stew, etc. I am the product of depression era parents. Frugality in all things 😇
