Thank you for response, I have been to the USA several times and Canada, also done plenty of cruises from the USA. When I cruised with my late wife I chopped the automatic wage subsidy in half (auto gratuity) and then handed out $ to those I thought deserving, i.e. Cabin Steward, MDR Waiter and Asst Waiter, Head Waiter for looking after me with my Celiac (American spelling) gf meals. Whether they kept those $ or handed them in to the 'pool' as some cruise lines require, I did not care, their decision. . Yes I know it is the culture in North America and in South America, they are 'born to tip' lol.
This time on Westerdam, I have a plan, don't worry I am not that tight, lol.
