  1. Not to my knowledge, no go zone as well for OZ travellers. The lurgy is still out of control.
  2. Sound decision, you pay thousands of $ for a cruise what's $5 for a brew of decent coffee or hot chocolate.?
  3. Thank you for response, I have been to the USA several times and Canada, also done plenty of cruises from the USA. When I cruised with my late wife I chopped the automatic wage subsidy in half (auto gratuity) and then handed out $ to those I thought deserving, i.e. Cabin Steward, MDR Waiter and Asst Waiter, Head Waiter for looking after me with my Celiac (American spelling) gf meals. Whether they kept those $ or handed them in to the 'pool' as some cruise lines require, I did not care, their decision. . Yes I know it is the culture in North America and in South America, they are 'born to tip' lol. This time on Westerdam, I have a plan, don't worry I am not that tight, lol.
  4. Don't they do a nice hot Indian Vindaloo in the Buffet or MDR? That will get you moving.. 💩
  5. If i had to go on a scooter that is the end of me cruising, what ever, dont want to beca burdem.
  6. Not seen them on Princess, just the awful coffee in the machines, mdr is no different. Princess coffee is infamous. Coffee from international cafe is-o k.
  7. Yep nescafe cappa sachets, take them to the buffet, add hot water,.
  8. Will take the flack. But as a solo traveller paying $350 a day why should i pay another $15 a day wage subsidy to HAL? Standby for incoming, lol.
  9. Correct they will be on your a/c, unless you do something about it on board.
  10. I checked out shorex prices on the HAL site for my Westerdam cruise in Australia, Nov 23. Prices do not indicate USD or AUD. Don't forget gratuities on HAL are 'adjustable' by a visit to the purser desk, if you know what I mean.
  11. It is scripted Mic, they take turns to win so as they can draw bigger crowds, lol. I am looking forward to Australia v Peru in the World Game next week, hope it is televised.
  12. Asked them years ago to bake gf bread and pies they won't, saying cross contamination and we might not sell it all. But then they have a couple of gf friands etc, so probably to lazy to bake other stuff. Buying GF bread does not worry me, I get it from Aldi, Coles/Woollies for $4 or $4.50 and stick it in the freezer. Batemans Bay is in a bit of a time warp in my opinion. No late night venues for the young folk, a retirement complex in middle of town shut down the pub music, etc, etc. Most club/pub/Restaurant kitchens shut down at 8pm or earlier. Not been to Robertson Pie shop since the 1980's, always good but I was not coeliac diagnosed then.
  13. Only on Cunard and sometimes on P&O UK do they get offended, not staff, the pax, lol.
  14. Sorry, you won't seem me in any formal dress anymore, been there done that, casual clothing for Uncle Les. My late wife loved dressing up for the formal nights, I hated it. So if it is jacket and tie on Westerdam for formal/gala nights, I shall be found in the Lido Buffet, lol. or dining with room service on my verandah as HAL calls balcony cabins.
  15. I would be making a complaint to Australian Medical Association re Dr and Staff. Not good enough, in fact pathetic. Hope your family gets well soon.
  16. Having been on both, Coral is a little larger than the Sun Class. 92,000 tonnes, Sun Class are about 77,000 tonnes from memory and a bit shorter. Both classes excellent though. Ideal for Aussie/NZ cruise operations.
  17. Few pastry chefs can get the gf pastry rate. In the past 11 years since coeliac hit me, I have tried many. No bakery in Batemans Bay has gf pies. Sad that.☹️ That is why I have buy the frozen ones, or travel 45 minutes to Haydens Pies @ Ulladulla and get a few. They are good but pricey.
  18. Oh gawd, the media will get hold of this and add a few noughts.
  19. Too hot for hot soup in Qld. I just got up, 2C overnight here down south.
