  1. I'll be happy to get back to you. I spent some time researching and believe I've chosen an excellent service.
  2. Looks like I need to pay better attention next time. Pickled herring is one of mankind's greatest inventions. Had some excellent in Aalborg! Also on great breakfast buffets in Oslo and Bergen hotels when we were stranded.
  3. We are booked on a "small group" land tour to begin in a little over two weeks. We'll be on the road for eight days. Looking forward to it and guessing we'll get a much better look at the country than an in and out cruise experience can provide.
  4. I'm sure lots of folks have gotten excellent steaks in Manfredi's. I'm just not among them.
  5. Pickled herring? How did I miss that?
  6. Lowered standards - not a good sign. Steaks that can not be eaten should not be offered or served.
  7. We liked Manfredi's - just think the rib eye is severly overrated. Apply the "Steve Standard" found in another thread: If Manfredi's was a local restaurant would you go there? Would you order the rib eye? Our next Viking cruise is in a bit less than a year.
  8. "Cooked perfectly" and great steak are two different things. A good chef can perfectly cook the sole of your shoe.
  9. "Cooked to perfection" only works if it is a pretty good steak in the first place. Although it can be tasty I believe it's mostly due to marinade and seasoning. I prefer the flavor of a great cut of beef. I've never had what they call a NY Strip that was up to snuff either. I'm admittedly a harsh critic when it comes to steak but IMHO Viking has room to improve.
  10. I could say the same. Actually, I just did.
  11. One of the biggest tourist traps on the planet instead of incredibly beautiful and unspoiled wilderness. Have fun.
  12. The problem with the much touted rib eye is that it is cut far to thin. Impossible to cook correctly.
  13. Which, of course, has nothing to do with my comment.
  14. There actually are such folks - those who shy away from any negotiation/hassle. Insurance companies (as well as car dealers) know these people exist. By the way ----- "such folks" are generally referred to as idiots.
  15. Once Viking has your money they are loathe to give it back. They wanted to refuse me a credit for a cancelled extension on the grounds it was paid for with vouchers. Nice try!
  16. Beware the Viking cheerleaders. They are legion here.
  17. You have a 70% chance of not seeing Denali - contradict all you want. Great that you beat the odds.
  18. "We had friends that were yelled at by the shore excursion desk for asking a question. The same guy pulled me aside (after I jumped through my Covid hoops) OUTSIDE of the ship and gave me the third degree because he assumed I had just walked off the ship without keying out. Since my card key was shut down while I was isolated, there is no way I could have gotten off the ship without the medical center giving the ok for it and releasing my card. There were a bunch of other issues, more minor but it went more to how customers were treated, and arrogance that some of the staff displayed than anything else. This was on the world cruise.A lot of the difference was more in how the senior staff dealt with customer service than anything else, I could handle the little things by waitstaff and cabin stewards." Two of using that word! So far!
  19. got·ten verb North American past participle of get.
  20. Under "Shipping Address - Final Documents" our names/addresses are listed although we have a TA.
  21. Figured someone would catch that one. Dates you (and me) 😊.
  22. Still waiting on mine from a year ago. So --------------------
  23. Has Viking gotten what we used to call "too big for their britches?"
