  1. Longterm - you can’t use vouchers for a deposit. And no more than one voucher per person for each new cruise booked.
  2. What do you think is the answer?
  3. Both of us use CPAPs. We clean our CPAPs and change mask parts every 2 weeks, so we clean right before the cruise and again when we get home. Another note - about 75% of the time, the distilled water is not in our cabin when we check in, but just tell your room steward when he/she introduces themselves and you’ll get it immediately.
  4. When we flew home from Bergen in April, 2022, we opted for the layover in Frankfurt rather than Amsterdam so we would be able to leave later and have breakfast (I’m diabetic). Amsterdam would have been faster overall
  5. My bad - I forgot we added the Oslo extension so flight back to EWR was from Oslo.
  6. This past June we flew non-stop from Bergen to Newark on SAS. Flight was arranged through Viking Air+.
  7. 100% our Madrid experience as well.
  8. Photopro2 - just tried to send you a message and it is also disabled. Oh well….
  9. Here’s the link: http://click.email.cruisecritic.com/?qs=b8774010bf9cd1355d8011a5857d086070291bab880b4dcbec5f95910390f5eb2503cff043b03950b68124aa09d4d8d13fcd605c27b064c4abd2a2c954e10940
  10. I’m sure others received the email from Cruise Critic with a link to download their mobile app. I downloaded it on my iPad and after a few trial and errors, got it set up. One big difference is that there is a facility to send private messages. So if anyone downloads the app, try sending me a message to see if this works.
  11. Totally agree. If you plan to go on other Viking Med cruises, chances re Barcelona will be a port, giving you the option to spend more time there. BTW, I’m no art enthusiast, but I loved the Prado over the Gaudi stuff.
  12. I agree with Romo - I just received an email offering free air for the next few Panama & Pacific cruises, and the itineraries all include a free excursion in Leon. This is after we all received emails about the substitution with a sea day. Very disappointed in Viking not correcting this.
  13. FWIW, I just received an email from Viking regarding our Panama cruise leaving 1/3/24 - here’s the crux of the issue: The Nicaraguan government has yet to rescind the cruise ship ban introduced as a COVID measure in 2021. All indications are that this ban will remain in place for the 2023 and 2024 season. We will therefore spend a day at sea instead of visiting León (Corinto), Nicaragua.
  14. And it disappeared from the January 3, 2024 sailing as well.
  15. Actually, your luggage is driven to Barcelona and winds up in your stateroom. We did this extension in 2019 and recommend it. The included tour of the Prado was excellent - very knowledgeable guide.
  16. I remember this character - he even accused Cruise Critic of blocking his negative accusations against Viking because there was a Viking ad banner on the page. Didn’t say nice things about those of us who like Viking either.
  17. That is why I always use the same Viking agent. Never had a problem that wasn’t satisfactorily rectified. While he still has to refer me to others for resolution, the difference is I tell him the issue, he puts me on hold, then transfers me to someone who knows the issue before I explain it. To me this is worth giving up a few hundred extra in SBC.

  19. This is a big issue for us as we both use CPAPs. No issue on any Viking ship, but need an extension cord as power is often available on only one side of the bed.
  20. Not necessarily. We canceled and rebooked a few times with newer promo codes when it made sense - which isn’t always. We have been using the same Viking agent for many years who works the numbers for us.

  22. I checked my future bookings and yes, prices are cruise fares are higher in varying amounts. Most airfare is higher too.
  23. I’ve done this on 10 cruises and never had a problem. Just don’t use it on the ship - no need to tell Viking you’re carrying with you.
