  1. Based on 1 experience, I believe cruiseboy89130 is correct
  2. Based on a sample size of 1 (well, 2 now), doesn't that happen to every couple, even without a complicating factor? If not, I will plead we've forgotten ours because its too close to Christmas (Dec 20)
  3. Wishing you the best, I want to believe good results mean good things, but I am utterly unqualified to know if thats the case
  4. Vet surgeon appointment not till June 1. Watched Alfie try to walk backwards on 3 legs as I was carrying laundry one room to the next, felt like such a heel for not simply going a different way. But she is all smiles. You all got my interest with Kraken. It seems like its not available in the entire state of Virginia. This seems an injustice 🙂
  5. Oh, that kind of tipping. I was off thinking on a book "the tipping point" by some author that now escapes me, but I did enjoy the book even if I've forgotten author, main point, etc. 🙂 Wish I knew how to represent "Oh" when it has 4 syllables! Tipping seems a never-ending quandary on our 1st experience cruise line's posts, makes me suspicious that our beloved cruise line company (and probably others) choose to keep it that way...
  6. So I just can't follow this. What is tipping thread? Love this. Should our (now) 3 pets ever present such an image of serenity, I will post it here 🙂
  7. Where is the love button? If you choose, let daughter know we're loving it here too!
  8. I wish all mothers here the best for tomorrow, and every day. Treat yourselves to something special! My mom's been gone for quite a few years, I hope wherever she is she knows how often I think of her, or quote her in my mind. My father arranged this painting of her as a surprise on their one visit together to Europe. Somehow the artist caught more of her than any photo I could post.
  9. Of course, as a child, I would never do such a thing 😇
  10. Us too! It was my first cruise on Royal, and we are looking at prospects to return as soon as we can. Hoping February works out for you.
  11. The place we used was called "Forgotten Tails" that takes dogs from shelters where they face euthanasia. They may well be a private organization. They told us Alfie came from a shelter in a rural county west of Richmond. Alfie's picture posted below, I think she was winking at me (its only money!)
  12. We adopted a new puppy a couple weeks ago; she had a slight limp at the shelter that was improving in our home. Then a few days ago she had a setback, walking on 3 paws, so we brought her to the vet for xrays. Vet told us yesterday she suffered trauma at some point in her past that had probably been temporarily fixed but would now require surgery. Was groaning about the costs, but then a friend sent this: “No more lonely cold nights or hearing that I'm bad No more growling belly from the meals I never had. No more scorching sunshine with a water bowl that's dry. No more complaining neighbors about the noise when I cry. No more hearing "shut up", "get down" or "get out of here"! No more feeling disliked, only peace is in the air. Euthanasia is a blessing, though some still can't see Why I was ever born If I weren't meant to be. My last day of living was the best I ever had. Someone held me very close; I could see she was very sad. I kissed the lady's face, and she hugged me as she cried. I wagged my tail to thank her, and then I closed my eyes and died……" Author unknown
  13. Agreed. And apart from these wonderful retirement years, those were the best days of my life (with apologies to Bryan Adams) 🙂 🎶
  14. Love it when you write like this
  15. Same here Techno, w only a few drops of British blood mixed with the Dutch and Norwegian in my veins.
  16. So cute! Would love to see a picture with the top knot.
  17. Yes, Emory Class of '73, and thanks to you and Lois for your kind comments!
  18. We spent a long weekend in Atlanta for my 50th college reunion. Wish I could take pictures like JP, Terry and many of you other coolers can. But here are two. Found this place as we were walking around Sunday morning. Really wanted to stay until they opened, but my better half reminded me there were activities elsewhere to be attended. One of the best meals I had there was Chicken Milanese. I don't think I ever had it before, but now I will seek it out. This version by the Atrium Restaurant at Ponce City Market. Then, a third pic I hadn't really intended to post, at the very bottom, is me in front of the dormitory I lived in for two years. Atlanta is a great city to visit - don't let these pictures deter you from visiting there someday
  19. And on a Friday no less! Mixing up extra Margarita's in case any of you choose to stop by. The only meal we've ever had on Silversea that was send-back worthy was a vegetarian meal my wife ordered. No amount of sauvignon blanc could wash it down. But, following how this thread reflects the varied tastes of each of us, someone else might have loved it. I had the best turkey burger anywhere on a Silversea cruise. All seafood dishes we had were great.
  20. If you like dry white with aromatics, seek out Santorini Assyritko (sp?) when you get home and you will savor memories of your visit. I have to agree but would add that any spot on Santorini will do to give you a great experience.
  21. D'accord, bien sûr
