  1. If you like dry white with aromatics, seek out Santorini Assyritko (sp?) when you get home and you will savor memories of your visit. I have to agree but would add that any spot on Santorini will do to give you a great experience.
  2. D'accord, bien sûr
  3. Sounds like poor sportsmanship to me, wish professional sports included some accounting for not running up the score. Would be a good model for our kids and grandkids. Speaking of grandkids, this is Karen introducing our Midwestern youngest grand daughter to the ocean for the first time last summer
  4. This is a picture of my middle daughter Susan's middle daughter (she & her wonderful husband have 3 girls) with an unknown young gentleman. Susan is the only child of my 6 (1 stepchild) to move out of Virginia to the MidWest where this was taken. It's a year out of date and as @Ozark_Kid & I expect all of you know, kids change so fast at this age. Still, I'm keeping this pic around, and wondering if I should see what Shutterfly has to offer (thanks to all of you).
  5. Wow, you all a wonderful group! Caring for one another with grace and love. Learning names. Great thread. Late to the party (as always it seems) and grateful for your positive comments, I've found I just can't keep up. I'm a bit jealous, but think my presence just dilutes the beauty that you all have. My best regards to all, I'll sign off, and leave a song that I just apply to myself but hope you enjoy as well. I can still observe 😌
  6. Thank you to the UK for Peter Gabriel & his band Below only if you are feeling like some music tonight Secret World
  7. I've said or heard all y'all a few times in my life. Example (not exact): me: Hey, love you guys, how about coming over after dinner for drinks? them: You're kidding, all of us? me (for maybe the last time ever): Yes, all y'all !!
  8. Well, in at least our part of Virginia, @jagsfan has it right. Addressing a group, it ensures everyone knows they are included - in the invitation, compliment, insult or whatever. You being the correct plural of you in English is overturned, with good reason. New England folk with a reputation for practicality can surely see the merit in this. Don't see any problem with Pittsburgh yinz either.
  9. I remember that cartoon! I'm thinking @tscoffey you were another geography / maps nerd as a kid. However, I've completely forgotten Bugs' motive....
  10. Totally understand a bit of trepidation regarding a large ship. We certainly had some prior to boarding a Royal ship with 4200 pax. For us, it turned out fine. There were less busy places to go. We did have a Suite which undoubtedly helped, and I (unsurprisingly I suppose) purchased the drink package. That said, we are both very much looking forward to our cruise on the Dawn this summer!
  11. About 60 to zero but let me explain. Ground rules have been for her & other grandkids, $50 but if we go a little bit over that's ok. She casually mentioned on the ride over to the mall that her other grandparents had sent a Visa gift card for $100 & she had it with her. I said great, but you know the ground rules are $50 with a bit over being ok from us. Between a necklace, a bracelet, and a book from Barnes & Noble, the score was approx 60 - nil. Final stop was Target for some pimple patches (pls don't ask but its why I have no pics). She stepped in front of me & paid for them with her Visa gift card. I'm not worried about the kids of today. They're beautiful.
  12. Beautiful waterfall. Certainly beats the inside of a mall, even it was nice to spend time with our granddaughter. If you ever see an old man standing outside a Hot Topic store, don't automatically think the worst. Most likely you would find a granddaughter with grandma shopping inside. Grampa's comments on some of the clothing were not appreciated, I think 🙂.
  13. I think you'll have a great cruise, with plenty of food and fun. We just completed a great cruise on Odyssey and, honestly, never understood the impact of MTD. - Useless I guess but confident you all will have blast!
  14. Granddaughter's birthday tomorrow. Plan is for wife and I to take her to the mall to pick out her gift. What could possibly go wrong?
  15. Not like what they have in DC - that was a gift from the people of Japan if I have my history right. But folks do plant cherry trees as has our Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond - they are also in glorious bloom this year. Maybe a portent of better times to come 😇?
  16. You folks are a caring and fun group. A lot like most of the folks we met on Odyssey. Would love to join the: I can eat shrimp with the best of them. Probably too far to drive... One pic from our Odyssey cruise, which we continue to bask in the afterglow from a week or so ago. This from an RCL excursion - Sunset Cruise in Aruba - that I fully recommend if you find yourself in those beautiful waters. Making spaghetti tonight for my dear wife and I, sure wish it could morph into any of the meals we had at Giovanni's
