  1. What a beautiful view! I'm sure the lunch was a success.
  2. OK, now another internet search (probably shouldn't start with the Sun as a search term) Please don't be, we admire your energy levels! The photos are superb. The shrimp tempura looked particularly enticing.
  3. It implied to me that the Daily Mail might consider us Americans to be living in hell (when "hell freezes over"). Although I am ignorant about UK newspapers, I think I prefer the London Times' coverage of our current awful weather: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/bomb-cyclone-us-weather-storm-snow-ice-freeze-travel-chaos-0pxjkl965
  4. Also wishing you a good trip JP. Bizarre weather causing changes already in our family's Christmas, lots of stay at home decisions. 10 day forecast for Richmond shows - this Saturday: high 28 F low 15 F, next Saturday high 64 F low 53 F. Crazy
  5. While usually not an issue, tonight my beautiful wife wanted white, and I was determined to try a French red I'd picked up. An easy solution occurred to me - here's your bottle and here's mine - cheers! We also wish the best to all for the holiday season, whether home alone, or with that special someone, or with extended family, or on board, on the road, or flying off to the UK....
  6. Laughing about misfortune always comes back to haunt. I wish I could say I have never done it, but Mom didn't raise a liar. Saw this on FB, thought it worthy to present here:
  7. Spent Thanksgiving outside Chicago with middle daughter's family. Saturday night was dinner and a show downtown with wife, daughter, and eldest granddaughter (picture below). Dinner at Trivoli Tavern was fantastic, and the Goodman Theater did a great job with "A Christmas Carol"
  8. My gosh, now I have an excuse! Just let me get out my map...
  9. Not sure of your scriptural reference here - 3 wise men connected to the slaughter of the innocents?
  10. Or they are reading all the threads across cruise lines and Silversea comes out best
  11. JP's photos usher in our Christmas season. So beautiful.
  12. It turns out I have this humorous cousin in Iowa:
  13. What do you think about Taylor Swift? Great music, power & a woman. A chance to hear her explain herself
  14. Perhaps there's beauty to be found: A Midwest US (Iowa) relative posted this photo on Facebook, taken a couple years ago, thought I would share here. She called it white on white. JP, according to no one but me, Finland has some of the best butter on Earth - enjoy!
  15. So Bryan Adams is a Canadian! Mysty, wish you had told me. LISTENING TO Summer of 69 tonight, but also this recent release (only click if in the mood for music or want to see this guy's wonderful dog, made me think of daveywavy's recent post) so glad to see you DW Time to get our tilapia and onion rings cookin...
  16. Also wishing you both a great trip. I think that's the best use of green tomatoes I've ever seen!
  17. A slice of white bread, unbuttered, was a cure for any stomach trouble
  18. Facing a rather long assignment in the Netherlands, my much-missed Dutch-descended Mom said learn some Dutch before you go - at least Please, Thank you, & I'm sorry. Which I did & never regretted. I know we all miss our moms who have lost them; well, I do too. Wait... Should that "who" have been whom? No one I know has ever vocalized "whom" including said beloved mother.
  19. I'm quite sure I'd reject a free cruise on that line, even if wine included
