  1. This is getting funny now. For the last time, I wasnt looking at it, or anything else. I only commented that from a distance the ships looked nice. Or didnt. I know what I like and I stick to it.
  2. Sorry but I am confused. It appears to be others saying they are not great. I was just commenting on that.
  3. I always have a large breakfast so never need lunch. I don't eat 3 meals a day at home so to do it for 11 days on a cruise would kill me. Especially eating 3-4 course meals every night as well. So to leave an excursion or port area just to go back on the ship for lunch seems crazy to me.
  4. It didn't catch my interest it was just that it looked really nice looking down on it. I think it was voyager. I am gathering they are niot a great outfit.
  5. So I gather. I am taking it that they are not a great company then. Genuinely have no idea. I was sat on the deck above the pool deck on Beyond looking down at it.
  6. On our last cruise we were docked alongside various ships throughout. To name a few Regent seven seas Virgin resilient lady Enchanted Princess twice Tui Mein Schiff 3, I think. Oceania Vista And we passed close by to Disney Dream. Oceania vista looked too small and seemed to have very little outdoor spaces. Regent seven seas looked beautiful. Quite small in comparison to celebrity beyond that we were on. I did not like the look of enchanted princess at all. Big and cumbersome looking. Resilient lady looked stunning. Mein schiff was awful. Disney dream looked magnificent. Regent seven seas and celebrity beyond would be good choices, or their equivalent in the Caribbean.
  7. Laundry? Am I the only one that wears their clothes out on a cruise and just leave them?
  8. Genuinely don't think there is anything. The wife.
  9. Only been on 4 cruises, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. But last years cruise on celebrity reflection would have to be my favourite. The itineraries were just as good this year on Celebrity beyond, but there was just something about reflection. I just lived the ship and miss being on it. I don't really miss being on edge or beyond. As fabulous as they are. Just felt like I belonged on reflection. A home from home.
  10. Oh and Bruges is well worth a visit in Belgium. One of the nicest places I have ever been to. Especially the square, made more famous by the Film In Bruge. Be careful of the local beer. lethal.
  11. Amsterdam is another gem. Again the cruise ship will dock a little way away but its not that far.
  12. and when in Edinburgh dont have around Newhaven. Its not great. The royal yacht Brittania is vastly over rated. Edinburgh city centre is about 15 minutes away is not to be missed. Especially Rose street for its pubs, and Underground City of the Dead Tour. Edinburghs lost city. Amazing.
  13. You are coming to my part of the world. Newcastle Upon Tyne. Fabulous City The ship will dock at North Shields I would imagine. Its about a ten minute taxi ride to the city centre. Thats all. No doubt some excursions will take you to more far flung places, like Alnwick Castle (Ponounced Annick) home of the Harry potter Broom stick flying scenes, but I would try and go to Newcastle City Centre. Its a brilliant vibrant and bustling City. And the locals, Geordies, are renowned for being very very friendly. And of course they Have the river tyne... and its 5? bridges within yards of each other.
  14. The best bits of London are places like Borough Market and Brick Lane. And avoiding the underground. Which is as close to hell as I could imagine. Places to avoid: Buckingham Palace Leicester Square Piccadilly circus Oxford Street Tourist hell holes.
  15. And it's the football season. And the pubs are great in winter. Proper pubs that is. Not the ones pretending to be pubs that are really cheap restaurants. Or poser bars. London has loads of fantastic historic pubs. And getting a real ale and sitting next to a warm fire is heaven.
  16. I found the Olympic stadium much more interesting and amazing.
  17. Maybe. But we went on celebrity cruise excursion. So didn't really have any input into when we went regardless of how much research I could have done. But I have read since that it's early always overcrowded. And full of scaffolding too.
  18. Opinions eh? Pompeii did that for me, as did Ephesus. And so did Istanbul as a general opinion.
  19. I don't do bucket lists but I was looking forward to visiting the Acropolis in Athens. It was massively disappointing. It's not as big or as good as it appears and it's hugely overcrowded. Ridiculously overcrowded. Almost dangerously so. If you are elderly or have walking difficulties it's even more dangerous.
  20. London won't be that crowded No more than it always is. Paris the same. Please ignore any stupid reports that London is overcrowded with refugees etc. It's absolute nonsense Enjoy.
  21. Don't forget the European kids are off thr same time Double the pain
  22. I am the exact opposite. I don't do any homework and just go and see whatever is there. And just pick an excursion that looks sort of interesting, or more over one that just drops us off, and we look around wondering what the hell to do. Ignorance can be bliss. We saw that big church in Florence without any idea what we were looking at. It looked stunning from the outside. I wasn't interested in the inside. Still can't remember what its called. Had an amazing pizza outside it though. But that's how I came to love Dubrovnik. Just wandered around and fell in love with the place.
  23. I have no idea why folk want to see that painting. It's beyond me. The leaning tower of pisa is OK but ots not that exciting. And pisa is a disappoinent other than that. On saying that I didn't get the excitement of Florence either so I probably not a great judge.
  24. Only be cause of an inhumane decision. The rumours about overcrowding in the UK because of refugees is utter nonsense. Absolute nonsense.
