  1. Not trying to start a dog fight on the topic. I have been in both as well. Not even sure why it is an issue. All cruise ships and lines have way more in common that differences. Just wanted to reply to a couple of your points and then I will move on. First, the reason that the food is the same is because Carnival WANTS it to be same. She now is a Carnival ship. The Italian flair is way more about the heritage and decor than food (which BTW is way better than Costa food). In regards to the kids and keeping them happier on Oasis (class), it really depends on ages and demand. I would def concede the flow rider, but the rest not so much. A merry go round and flow rider attract a WAY different crowd. I s the ice rink open every day? I do not believe so. Saw WAY more adults on rock climbing walls than kids. I could go on, but will not. No need. I did a lengthy review of our sailing on Oasis and posted it on the RCCL main page as well as here. There is a reason we have only sailed Oasis class once. Listen I get the hype, the wow, the sizzle (Icon right now). That comes with some caveats, no tender ports (NONE) and limited ports of calls. For a lot, the sizzle wins….not for us. Your opinion (or your kids) may vary. Time to move on.
  2. Thanks for the pics, agree on the assessment of the new menus.
  3. Nice review, we have sailed the Spirit class more than any other. Agree on the feeling of nt being crowded. Thanks for doing the review.
  4. And I was replying to the op. It has been beat to death. Hence the beating a dead horse comment.
  5. Not sure, but 17 may work as well. Lots of chairs to potentially zig zag through tho…
  6. On our last we were told by our cabin steward that we were his VIP. HE as what “time” we wanted our room cleaned. We knew he would prefer mornings when he had help and said we were fine with that. All of this has nothing to do with tips and we do not have to beat that dead horse.
  7. Weather here in Florida has been less than iffy. Typically January is the worst weather month temp wise, but this one it has been the cloudiness. All that said, you will be fine.
  8. My fav type of balcony cabin. Cruised in MANY. Typically the room gets smaller as decks rise due the aft slope of the ships. Typically like 6th floor on most ships. Usually the smaller rooms mean you lose the couch.
  9. Neither have I. A very significant uplift to a menu that needed one. Kudo’s to the mgt team for this.
  10. Totally agree, great alternative. Emeril is also Carnival’s Chief Culinary Officer and is making his mark already. The Emeril additions to the regular menu they are rolling out are outstanding. Highly recommend them.
  11. Be interested in your experience as well.
  12. Contact info for current reservations 8007647419
  13. I would contact Carnival on this.
  14. We have been invited to several award/privileged functions that give us exposure to the upper levels of the mgt team. At one of these (when the Mardi Gras was being built and their were renderings), I expressed dismay at the move of the Havana area from the aft (which would allow a pool like the do on Vista Class) to the starboard side. I expressed my concern that they were making a tactical error. Two senior managers told me the logic for the move. Fairly complex, but there was a strong desire to have a pool area that turned out to be Summer landing. While I loved the concept of the Vista class when I heard this (there is more but not needed for this discussion), I agreed. Main point is that it def was not something that was forgotten or overlooked. Hope this helps.
  15. That is an overstatement. if you are thinking it is like Carnival normal hot tubs.
  16. Triple dog dare you😃……It is a gift. Whatever the gift is (not your suggestion/threat🤩). People can ruminate why Carnival does something or a change is made. That said, it is a guess pure and simple. Rumor mills usually are 95% …..wrong.
