  1. Anyone else notice bids are getting accepted a lot further in advance lately? My guess is they are seeing the bids at higher levels then say this time last year and are snatching them up before people change there minds about spending money
  2. Thank you so much!!! We are going to have the concierge in the Haven book all the shows once we get onboard! Again thanks again
  3. That makes perfect sense, since part of the consent form is allowing the party to make medical decisions on your behalf.
  4. Afternoon everyone! We are on the April 8th Joy Cruise out of Miami and was wondering if Footloose is still one of the Shows. On the Website it shows it as being one of the shows, but all I see in the app is Elements! Now Elements looks good but also wanted to see Footloose. Also if you have seen the show what did you think. 73 days left, Myself, wife =, stepdaughter and her 17 year old friend (first cruise for both of them, pretty sure we will ruin them as we have an Aft Facing Haven Suite, 3rd one in a row, we cant go back lol)
  5. My wife, myself, my stepdaughter and her 17 year old friend( first Cruise for both of them) are going on the Joy in April. We have the Aft Facing Haven Suite and will absolutely report on all the fun we have. Third straight cruise in the Haven and can not wait. First time in the Aft Facing Suite as the past 2 were the 2 bedroom and the Forward facing. Love this thread and come back multiple times a day to see what is being said.
  6. We are traveling with My Stepdaughter and her 17 year old friend. Now the friends parents are not going on the Cruise so we completed the form with also getting photo copies of their IDS. Now as far as NCL says that is all we need. Now I will say i did just in case have a letter drafted up and had it signed by her friends mother as well as notarized. This is mainly for when we go through customs when we return. Not much help for you, but pretty sure if the parents are traveling with the child just in different cabins this should be necessary.
  7. Its true, was just reading how someone was upset because their flights were the day before the cruise and wanted NCL to cover room and food cost. No mater what there will be unhappy people, that is why i choose to do all my own transportation planning for my cruises
  8. I agree, When you allow NCL to make your flights you are allowing them to choose what day you fly in and out. Rule of thumb is always always always either fly in or even drive into the departure port the day before. I drive to most embarkation ports and always drive in the day before whether it is an 10 hour drive or 3 hour drive. As far as the Legal action goes...good luck, read your cruise contract...says basically they can change anything at anytime with no reason...now frustrating yes, but room for legal recourse..not at all. I suggest doing your homework before spending $20k on a cruise...I know i spend weeks if not longer researching ship, embarkation port, hotels for pre-cruise stay as well as come on here and read current reviews of the ship. I do prefer NCL over other lines but have cruised almost them all, but what you have stated you can go on any Cruise line board on here and find the same people that experienced the same thing simply by not doing your research. Best of luck and hope you find a Line you can be happy with.
  9. What ships have you sailed on that have suites identical to the Haven? Maybe the older Dawn and Jewel class ships that were not built with Haven Enclaves? BA and BA plus ships have Club Balcony Suites which do not allow any Haven Check in perks ( from personal experience). And also the Club Balcony suites look nothing like any Haven Suite, I have sailed in Haven forward facing Penthouse, Haven 2 bedroom suite, haven Aft facing Suite and the Haven courtyard suite. You must be referring to the older ships because Haven guests have there own Restaurant. Look up any BA class ship or newer and you will see the difference.
  10. Only guest allowed to use the Haven Check in during boarding is Haven Suites. At least that has been my experiance, we will be boarding the Joy in April out of Miami and are in a haven suite, so can update during boarding then
  11. Almost all newer ships all muster stations are inside and not on the boat deck
  12. The Noise and Distractions come form...you guessed it, passengers that refuse to be quiet and complain about being there. Instructions come over every single Speaker on on the ship.
  13. I am staying at the YVE for our precruise night stay in April.. Does anyone know where to park for this hotel, looks like they do not have a garage?
  14. I guess I am one that disagree, was on the Breakaway several times, and for late night snacks I always simply went to Osheans and ordered and usually arrived in about 5 to 10 minutes, either eat there or bring to my room.
  15. You say no good reason? Well believe the folks that were on the Costa Concordia would disagree. Also Covid Spreader? Its ok to be jammed together for dinner, shows, lounges for entertainment for hours on end, but 15 to 30 minutes to complete a mandatory safety briefing is where you draw the line regarding covid spreaders? I understand drills stink, but this is a mandatory drill that will never ever go away. I will deal with this and will never let it bother me one bit
  16. 74 days on the Joy, Aft facing Haven Suite. It’s my 16 year old stepdaughters first cruise.
  17. My wife stepdaughter and her friend will all be in the haven with my, we have friends staying outside the haven that book about 75 days out and understand that we may be able to take them in for a tour but we explained to them they won’t be able to utilize any of the facilities. I totally agree with this as haven guest have paid a premium to have those spaces and services so why should other who don’t be able to use it just because they know someone in there
  18. Correct they close all the bars and any entertainment during muster drill to ensure passengers attend as it is a coast guard requirement. I am speaking from experience as I worked onboard cruise ships for 5 years
  19. Omg! Lol saving money on liquor, you do realize that say a drink with 3ounces of liquor cost about $50 cents to make yet sold for 7 to $10. Pretty sure bars being closed cost them money doesn’t save them money.
  20. My April Cruise is not allowing me to purchase anything. Im sure its just a glitch and will be fixed soon
  21. Very True, We all had to deal with it precovid so its just back to normal! I actually enjoy when the sounds go off becasue its like a 45 minute warning that we are about to leave lol
  22. Yea the muddy Mississippi! I do love the leaving out of new orleans as it is a pretty scenic cruise to the Gulf
  23. We are staying at the YVE Hotel right across from the cruise port for the night before our April 8th Sailing on the Norwegian Joy. Love the location as it is walking distance to Biscayne Marketplace as well as very short drive to the Cruise Terminal. We booked a Bay View Room so the morning of embarkation my 16 year old stepdaughter and her friend (both there first cruise) can open the blinds and see the ships in Port. Will update after the stay about hotel as there are mixed reviews.
