I must agree! New Orleans was convenient for wife and I for many years, but we just sailed out of Miami and let me tell you, line never stopped and was onboard in less then 30 minutes

I have been there twice, most recent was march of 2022. Mice and I love it! Beautiful lagoon, good food and the staff is amazing. It’s about a 40 minute drive to faculty and a 2 minute boat ride to the island. We will be going back in April when we are there

So there are no separate lines for anyone until you make it through the security checkpoint. Then there will be general check in which is everyone, and another line for haven check in. When boarding starts, Haven guests are called first then I believe the higher tier latitudes.

So I am currently booked in a forward facing Haven Suite for my December 2nd cruise. I noticed today that the Aft facing Suite is only about $800 more and would love the larger balcony as well as the 2nd 3/4 bathroom. Can anyone let me know what decks have the larger balconies? Also do any of the Aft facing Haven suites have any windows in the bathrooms. Thanks in advance

Yea, we are going on the Escape in December and bringing our 17 year old daughter and her 18 year old friend, so they will sure enjoy the Haven Sundeck when not at the main pool.

The Haven Sun Deck is for 16 and older...so not just adults

We have done sting ray City before, it I think grand cayman we will simply walk do a little shopping and have a local lunch!

Look at the studio cabins on NCL ships.

Only issue I would ever have is sailing with more than 2 in a cabin and utilizing a pullout couch. Luckily we are sailing on the escape in December but we are staying in the forward facing haven with our daughter and her friend, so they will still close up the bed every day, but honestly, I could do it myself lol

I always new about the beer and wine but never knew that they could utilize a drink package.

I should mention my daughter will be 17 at sailing and her friend will be 18 so no issue with legality stuff. They are very independent and I am sure will not take advantage of any teen stuff especially since the friend can’t partake. I also heard conflicting reports on Starbucks gift cards so I think we will simply put onboard credit on there cards. We also are going to have the Bon Voyage decorations set up on embarkation day for them. My wife and I love doing all the slides and stuff which I am sure our daughter will be laughing at us lol. I think they are going to love almost feeling like adults, but knowing we are paying lol

Wife and I have cruises out of New Orleans many times. Stayed at Hampton inn parked at Fulton garage and walked to the terminal. Lines in New Orleans get out of control pretty quick, once past security it goes pretty quick as long as no boarding delays like crew immigration inspection

Well hello everyone and I hope everyone has had a merry Christmas and going to have a happy New Year! So My wife and I are very Frequent Cruisers but this will be the first cruise we are taking our 16 year old on a cruise. It will be my wife and I along with our daughter and one of her friends. We are sailing on the Norwegian Escape December 2nd 2023 out of Port Canaveral. I am looking for advise on a few things to make this very very memorable for her and her friend. First off, we originally booked a Club Balcony Suite with large balcony for the 4 of us. Our past 2 cruises my wife and I have won bids for the Haven ( Forward Facing Haven Suite and the 2 bedroom Haven Suite) So Yesterday I said the heck with it and upgraded us to the Forward Facing Haven Suite mainly for the extra room, private bedroom and honestly I have become so spoiled with staying in the Haven that I am not sure I will ever go back lol. I would like ideas for how we can make this cruise as memorable for both the kids as possible as well as surprise them with some things before and during the cruise. My wife and I are going to try and do our best not to let them know that we are staying in the Haven....easier said then done. Both kids are Starbucks fans so thinking of unlimited Starbucks throughout would be a start. We are doing Paradise Beach in Cozumel and Duns River Falls in Ocho Rios. Great stir-up Cay is obviously a beach day. Grand Cayman not sure yet. So any ideas of little things we can do to cabin, pre night stay in Port Canaveral and other things during cruise would be greatly appreciated. Only 338 days to go lol

I am in Miami now, drive down yesterday from NC, drive wasn’t bead windy and a light rain once you hit Jacksonville, everything should be good today

Safe travels to you! We are going to leave tomorrow give us an easy 2 day drive. It’s only about 11 hours but I’m sure it will be longer so plans are is to make it to Florida tomorrow afternoon stay in a hotel then Friday head down to miami. So we had been booked in the haven for this cruise that got cancelled so got a good chunk of FCC. And the symphony was a lot cheaper as we only booked a balcony. But holy crap their drink packages are outrageous! So my wife and I will be getting our moneys worth lol

So i did not, i was planning on leaving tomorrow morning. But the minute i got the email i searched to book another cruise leaving Saturday out of Miami....I booked the Symphony of the seas leaving Saturday the 1st. I usually only sail NCL but did not want to sail the Sun or the Sky..., First time on a megaship and we shall see....When life gives you lemons, make lemonade...

My guess sea day, they want that onboard revenue

So, 3 days till boarding 2 until our drive down to Port Canaveral. Every few hours I am looking at the Storm Model and feeling a little bit better thinking that it will make landfall north of Tampa at least. Hope all that are impacted make it safe and sound. We are almost 100% packed, everything is ready for the drive down. My wife and I will most likely leave Charlotte NC around 5am so we can hopefully arrive in Port Canaveral around 1pm, check into the hotel, and was hoping to grab a bite to eat by the port but with the Hurricane coming may not be possible. Still preparing myself to not be upset if the Getaway can't make it into Port Thursday, also going to reserve one extra night at our hotel just incase. Every day I ask my wife what's the first drink she will order once on the ship, and she still can not give me an answer lol

I prefer the haven courtyard, especially on the breakaway class ships as you are right inside the haven in the same floor as the pool lounge bar and restaurant
