  1. The chart on the bottom right quadrant seems to contradict what you were told. I wonder if that chart is no longer valid and if not then what is the actual current policy.
  2. I was looking through an old "A GLANCE AT THE DAY" planner and it lists two different grog walks one lasting one hour and one lasting two hours. Is this correct? different lengths of the Grog Walk? Do they go to more bars? Also, does anyone know the current price of the Grog Walk. I know it will change before my cruise since my cruise isn't until April 2026 but I just want to get a rough idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance.
  3. If you just booked give it a couple weeks for the package to register with your booking. I would hold off upgrading until around Thanksgiving, they usually have a really good sale on upgrades and packages then.
  4. Day three, the first full sea day was Evening Chic night.
  5. From a very selfish point of view, I'm glad the price is so high. I booked Unlimited Specialty Dining when they had a 40%off flash sale for my Apex transatlantic crossing in the fall and the high price hopefully will reduce the demand making it easier for me to dine there multiple nights. I do agree, though, that Specialty Dining prices are getting out of control.
  6. Sounds like you want a Celebrity branded Holland America Line-like ship.
  7. You have that backwards, Summit has been Revolutionized hence Deck 12 forward on Summit is reserved for Retreat guests. Solstice has not been Revolutionized so Decks 15/16 are open to all passengers. Both ships have a Sky Lounge so there's forward views for all passengers unlike Edge class ships. Sorry, I posted this before I saw that you corrected yourself.
  8. "Actually, state jurisdiction, and therefore their taxation ability only extends out 3 nm from land, while international waters begin at 12 nm." Thanks, I learn something new everyday.
  9. I'm having the same issues. Good thing I wasn't planning to purchase anything at this time.
  10. I also did the West Coast cruise and had the Premium Beverage package. I had several cocktails while in California ports tied up to the pier and was not charge sales tax since I had a prepaid package. If I didn't already have a package I'm positive I would have been charge 10.25% L. A. county sales tax on cocktails purchased before we reached international waters.
  11. Unless you request otherwise, you will be seated at your own table – usually a two-topper.
  12. If you are doing the upgrade directly with Celebrity then you'll get additional points, if you're doing a "Move Up Bid" then you only get the points for the original cabin.
  13. I tried both and enjoyed Eden more. Le Voyage wasn't bad, I just enjoyed Eden. Give it a try yourself for a new experience. The service was definitely more formal in LV than Eden.
  14. Eden Restaurant (which only serves dinner) and Eden Café are completely different venues and experiences although they are physically in the same general area. Eden Café is a place where you order at the counter and wait for your pager to alert to pick up your food. They also have some self-serve items. There are tables inside and outside to sit at to enjoy your breakfast or lunch. Its much more casual food. Eden Restaurant is a full service restaurant with views of the wake. All food is freshly made to order within the exhibition kitchen. I enjoyed both when I eat there on Beyond. For a four day cruise I would suggest you skip Eden Restaurant even though I think it's the best food on the ship. Save your £75pp for a fancy dinner ashore. Try out the four MDRs. I'm doing Apex's fall transatlantic and bought the Unlimited Specialty Dining package so I'll try to eat in Eden Restaurant three or four nights on the trip.
  15. Is anyone aware of a thread on CruiseCritic reporting they were repriced at the pier because their cabin mate "no showed"? I've been a pretty active user of these forums for the last few years and if this happened I'm sure someone would have posted about it. I don't recall this ever being discussed.
  16. Do you actually know anyone this has happened to? I don't trust what the CVP says. They are frequently wrong. The reason I asked is that I'm normally a solo traveler and booked a cruise next fall for myself and another person TBD because the D/O price was much cheaper than the solo price. I'm going to designate someone to be my roommate who would "no show" at embarkation if I can't find someone I want to sail with. I can still cancel the cruise for a full refund of my deposit if what you describe is actually taking place. However, the only actual reports of one person in a D/O showing up at embarkation and the other passenger as a no show I've heard is that there isn't any price adjustment at the terminal and the second set of port fees and taxes is refunded post-cruise.
  17. or These paragraphs seem the closest to what we are talking about. Virtually all bookings are done as Promotion Cruise Fares. See, for example, the current "Take 75% off 2nd Guest + Bonus Savings" promotions. I would argue there is a difference between the 2nd guest canceling before final payment which would trigger this paragraph and a repricing and the 2nd person no showing at embarkation because of (fill in the blank) reasons.
  18. I hope you bought trip insurance. As Jim said, most likely won't make any accommodations unless there is a named hurricane approaching. Sorry we couldn't be more hopeful.
  19. 8:45 pm and 10:30 pm for the current sailing. Your sailing might vary a little but this is generally the show times.
  20. I've heard – but have not seen yet – that "Caravan" offered in The Club by the Eden cast was outstanding. I'm looking forward to seeing it when I do Apex's fall transatlantic cruise.
  21. You can also get hot water from tap in the Spa Café or Oceanview Café. That's what I do, make my own fresh brewed ice tea.
  22. For me it varies, on my last cruise I ate in the MDR every night except once in OVC, no specialty restaurants at all. The previous cruise I ate in specialty restaurants four out of six nights and two specialty lunches. On my next cruise I bought the Unlimited Specialty Dining package for a transatlantic cruise since it includes specialty lunches for all sea days making it a bargain in my mind. The cruise after that I plan on eating in the MDR exclusively. It just depends on how I feel for the cruise.
  23. There is always a sale going on. They are designed to create a sense of urgency so you will book today. It's just a marketing trick.
  24. Since the cruise is only a month and a half out both price options have to be paid in full at booking. If you have a travel agent they have access to more code categories than is listed on the website. They may be able to book the cabin for a solo at the same price as a couple would pay except for double port fees & taxes for a couple instead of one set of fees and taxes for a solo.
