  1. We always simply have the porters tag our bags at the pier. Not worth stressing about them. Far easier to show our cruise documents and hand the bags over. No need for plastic luggage tag holders. FYI luggage tags are no longer mailed.
  2. Interesting on Summit that there are elevators fore, aft and mid ship. While there is a bar near the screen and servers likely available, easy and fast to get to other bars on board. You can only order one drink at a time on any of the major cruiselines. You certainly can get a couple for you and your wife and return a few minutes later and get two more.
  3. Agree. Have cruised with lots of Zeniths. None were in the casino except for a couple hands of blackjack. Most walked through.
  4. Not that unusual. The cabins are usually the same size and depended on the ship many do not like the location of some Aqua cabins Pricing is on a computer algorithm. Just glad that cruiselines do not change their pricing with each seat sold.
  5. About a 99% chance port stop in San Juan del Sur will be cancelled. Nicaragua and US having political issues and the country having rampant violence. To date all scheduled port calls cancelled including Emerald Princess on the prior cruises.
  6. There is a US government advisory in place saying in effect to not travel to Nicaragua. Ships from it appears all cruiselines are cancelling this port stop. I understand we are supposed to get port fees and taxes refunded, but the reality is received 2 refunds for about 15 ports missed.
  7. My medallion stays in a pocket. I use my middle name. Do not have a first name. Princess will only put my "first name " on my medallion. Gave up fighting. Not worth it.
  8. Just had the port stop in San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua disappear. Am aware that other ships have cancelled this port stop. No notification yet from Princess. Will Princess offer some OBC or at least refund the port fees and taxes? Many of us made Christmas plans in this beach town.
  9. Lots of tour operators have gone out of business. No operator, no tour. Obtaining insurance is expensive and time consuming to obtain
  10. Never seem that happen. After many cruises the only upgrade we got was from a veranda to Aqua. The ship was half full.
  11. It will take longer than a week. Also a bit confused as September was not recently.
  12. We always book with my TA. They almost always (18 out of 20 so far) have a group fare that includes the beverage package, gratuities, wifi at the same cost as a cruise only fare. Plus she offers OBC. We found her using Google and having companies Compete for our business. PS not a Big Box TA. Ask availability for phone calls. Not allowed to share her name.
  13. Probably 50/50. Most people cruise itineraries not exclusively the cruiseline. Cruisers, especially from Florida cruise often. It is unusual to not see someone on board that we have met before.
  14. It depends a bit on where and when you are cruising. In general you would get a refund. Go to the website where the policy is fairly clear.
  15. We use BART. Takes you within walking distance of the c port.
  16. At this point no dairy free. Dairy free ice cream is very difficult and different to manufacture.
  17. Strongly suggest an extra day in Seward either pre or post cruise. Kenai Fjords runs an excellent full day tour. Probably in the top three day excursions we have ever done - anywhere. Several companies offer shuttle service to or from Anchorage. Easy and cheap. Seward is very small. We walked from our hotel - a bit long - once and took a 3 minute taxi the other going to the pier (north end of the bay.
  18. Don't bother. Just have a copy of your covid card as it is needed for some ports.
  19. Lots of cyber stuff lately, not that Celebrity can't mess things up on their own
  20. We arrived in Tampa on a TA. Took 5 hours for passengers to clear customs. The another 2 as all the crew needs to clear, the CDC or a similar agency needs to do health and the USCG a complete safety inspection. It was after 2pm before passengers started boarded the year we were there. CBP had 2 supervisors walking around and 2 agents clearing people until 10am when a 3rd agent arrived. Boarding will go quickly once the ship is cleared. Nothing Celebrity can do. Not their fault.
  21. Celebrity said Asia cancelled until things are clear as to covid. Galveston certainly has capacity.
  22. Captain's Club % is simply a booster that would break ties. MoveUp is about incrementail revenue. Plain and simple. It is not a conspiracy. Agree totally on can upgrade on board if there are empty cabins. That worked in April. Won't today as ships are mostly 90%+ on my cruises. Unhappy about submitting a losing bid? Agree if one is notified of an overdid- all should be. Highest offer gets the cabin then the shuffle begins.
  23. What you are suggesting would have unfortunate consequences if you were caught. This has been discussed hundreds of times. The rule is you are permitted 2 bottles of WINE. Very clear
  24. Plenty of storage. If it won't fit in the bath, shelves, closet, and in your cases under the bed you brought way too much stuff.
