Agree, they (likely someone overseas that is inexperienced) told you incorrect info. We have used gift cards for everything you mentioned as well as additional items. ANYTHING you charge to room will be paid off first by cabin credit (aka: gift cards, OBC, etc.).

I think you might be trying to prepay those items with the $1,500 worth of gift cards which you can’t (unless you got the plus package for crew tips and Wi-Fi). The only thing I know you can use gift cards on before cruise is the actual cost of the cruise. What others are trying to tell you is once you embarked go to customer service desk and give the the $1,500 worth of gift cards to put on your onboard account and then you and your wife could use them as you want. if you are trying to pre-book your excursions before the cruise you can not use the gift cards. You can use gift cards if you book the excursions when you’re onboard the ship after putting them on your onboard account. Cheers

If your connected to Wi-Fi and have a iPhone then yes, you will be able to get/send texts from other iphones. If on android you can use WhatsApp to get texts. Im sure there are other apps that use Wi-Fi to text, just haven’t used them. Cheers

I can’t remember if there is a better way than manually checking Princess or TA website if a suite opens up on a specific cruise? Have another couple that is joining us on April 20th cruise on Crown Princess but currently no suites are available. They booked a mini with the big box OTA but of course they aren’t going to check daily nor would I ask our TA to do that either. Other than going through the manual process of searching that cruise up and then check, is there any other way to streamline searching for open cabins? Final payments is coming up at the end of next month (something might open up) and would like to help them move from their mini to a suite so they can join us for meals (I know we can go to MDR with them but would like to enjoy our suite benefits and no reserve mini are available either). God I hate to reply to a post on a fashion thread but…. I have no idea of your age but I know many guys from 70 down to 30 that wear ball caps anytime in public (doesn’t matter if it outside or inside) mostly for the reason….. let me try to say it as politely as I can… they were not born with the genetics to keep a full head of hair. Its just that simple so try to cut them some slack if you can. It’s just there personal choice on what they feel more comfortable with. Or, whomever can feel personally assaulted by it. We had to make a large claim with Allianz and they paid it. It did take a long time, maybe 3 months and there were times that many weeks past without hearing from them after submitting docs. Hope this path works out for you. Cheers

Damn, I really feel sorry for you @Last Lion. If I was biting down on a lobster cake (not really sure what that is) the last thing I would think is something hard in there, mostly an olive pit??? Kind of off topic but fair warning to people visiting Tucson, AZ. For some strange reason the homemade Mexican tomalleys have an olive in the center and sometimes the olive has the pit??? I learned the hard way. Anyways, I wish you luck having Princess making things right and cover the costs and adding for pain and suffering and going through a year and a half procedure. Living in Canada, it would be a total pain in the butt and a large financial burden to have to get a lawyer in CA to take the case. Please keep us informed.

I’m afraid those days are long gone. as @Arizona Wildcat wrote (Bear Down😉), the only thing we show up with for a cruise now is our passports and cell phone (for access to electronic docs if needed). Cheers

We are truly at the point we save everything electronically on the cloud/email/hard drive. The occasional time we do get paper documents we shred them after copying from scanner to pdf. It made me think of times not that long ago we got so excited when our cruise documents in a professional pouch would arrive. Looking at all the excursions details deciding what to book when we got on the ship. Lol….. those days are long gone forever now 🙂 And some people still wonder why internet on the ship could be very import. Cheers

Can relate to both these posts🤣 As you both say, just keep trying it until it works and watch the videos on how to do it. My photo took a couple of tries but my wife maybe a dozen attempts. Reading the passport chip took me a dozen times before it read it and my wife got hers to read the first try ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Cheers
