    spleenstomper - I am hoping that everything works out for you and you can board in Quebec City. Last August my stepfather and I were on the Niew Statendam and we had a great time. Before the trip, I ordered electrolyte powder packets from Amazon. We took them on the cruise. You mix packet with water. It was convenient. I wish you all the best.

    slidergirl - You're right about the gloves. Years ago when I lived in Massachusetts, there was a coffee shop where the servers wore gloves. They took money and then made your sandwich with the SAME gloves on! Gross!

Years ago on the Veendam there were lots of tuxedos on formal nights, but I have not seen many since then. Thanks for keeping up the tradition!
