  1. I choose "Select" when booking, so not sure what the Plus is, maybe new fancy wording??
  2. Can't answer your question, I didn't even notice on my last Beyond cruise in January I had an option to purchase a filet, but I just got this email from Celebrity and this MDR dish looks excellent. 😂
  3. I also booked a solo for next summer in SS veranda on an E-class. I took the cruise only option with refundable deposit, as the AI was over $2500 more, plus almost $700 to make it refundable. Makes zero sense to do that when Premium Drink pkg is about $650ish and WIFI is $180ish for the week. My plan is to wait to add beverage and WIFI during the hopeful black Friday sale and save even more!!!
  4. We’re now talking about Vegas from 50 years ago. 🤦‍♂️
  5. All joking aside, the cruise companies and many other companies have gone through a lot of changes in the last three years. I will be going on and enjoying my third E-class cruise in March 2024. I'm sure I will love it, there may be many changes since my first E-class Apex 2021 cruise, but all in all I will most likely love my vacation..
  6. No clue, I'm not all knowing, and my time machine is broke.
  7. Happened to me on Apex in 2021 No clue there was a lunch option in Eden. Figured it out when I was on Beyond the following year..
  8. These are new "premium" options. Everything that was previously "free" in Eden cafe is still "free." RELAX
  9. I did this on a Virgin cruise and had zero issues. I recently booked a SS veranda on Beyond, for 2 is was the same as solo with all included, however to cruise only option for a solo was over $2500 cheaper than all included. Doubt I’ll drink $2000 plus in drinks, so booked solo cruise only.
  10. I know this video is on page 2 of the tread, but with all the complaining about "creaking" this is the first video I've actually seen. Not that I'm scouring CC all day, every day looking for these, but yeah..
  11. I got this same email and was thinking the same thing. It is absolutely a shot at Celebrity. I love it!!!
  12. Is it actually mashed potatoes? Or some mash substitute? I can eat good real mashed potatoes for every meal.
  13. I went on a 7 day Virgin cruise this summer on Valiant Lady from Barcelona to Cannes/Nice/Monaco, Carrara (Pisa), Ajaccio, Ibiza, back to Barcelona. This was a cruise I never planned to do, but because of a credit card points offer Virgin Red was offering, I basically got a free cruise for 75,000 credit card points and to me it was an absolute no brainer.... There are differences with all cruise lines, but at the end of the cruise I really enjoyed the cruise with Virgin. Because of the wonderful Med. cruise this summer I decided to check out a Med. cruise for 2024. The price difference between Virgin and Celebrity is thousands of dollars. I love Celebrity (that may change after my March 2024 cruise) but I cannot justify the extra money to do a Med. cruise with them. I understand the itineraries between the two line are completely different, but again I can't justify Celebrity's price.... Happy Cruising!!!!
  14. Just read through all of this, I truly hope you are enjoying your vacation even with ALL the missteps from Celebrity. I kind of wish I didn't read through it, a lot of the issues seem minor, but that makes an expensive vacation not so good IMO. I have a Celebrity Ultimate Caribbean in March and if I have the same minor problems and school lunch looking food, it will be my last for a while. Thanks again for the post and ENJOY your vacation!!!
  15. Cancelled and re-booked some excursions and specialty dinning and saved a few hundred dollars. I'll take it..
  16. We need more electric cars to help offset the cruise ships pollution.
  17. Had a similar experience in regards to shows on Beyond in January. I was on Apex in March 2022 and the main production shows where outstanding!!! On Beyond in January 2023 it was incredibly difficult to listen to, bad singing, off key, out of pitch just bad, left early the two show we when to, didn't bother with the third.
  18. I've been on Apex and Beyond and only ate in the MDR once on Beyond and that was in January 2023 and was not impressed at all. We actually got up and left before being offered dessert. Very slow service and very basic food. The issue on this cruise was the Ocean View buffet, for diner they had 75% of the food stations closed, this from what I've been told is no longer the case.
  19. Virgin uses Starlink for internet. On a Med cruise in June I upgraded after day 2 and didn't really have any issues. It did cost me $125 but I was willing and prepared to upgrade...
  20. I booked a 10 day 2024 Caribbean on Beyond in June 2022 SV, premium drinks/Wi-Fi and $800 OBC for just shy of $6000. My parents decided they want to join and it’s over $7000 basic drinks/Wi-Fi and no OBC for a less desirable cabin and location. Book early…
  21. Was on Valiant in June and we docked. I ended up over sleeping and missed my excursion so I walked around the port area, very easy with plenty of shops/places to eat.
  22. If I listened to the not stop whining on CC I would have never gone on a cruise in the first place, almost cancelled my first ever cruise because of it. So glad I didn't.
  23. Had a similar thing happen on a San Juan excursion. On an Apex 2022 cruise I had a zip-line tour booked, I ended up cancelling and chose a less demanding (covid lung) excursion at the Bacardi distillery. That, for some reason got cancelled, and by then the zip-line was sold out, I was not happy. I ended up booking directly with Bacardi and had a great time. At the end of the day I think these cruise companies rely heavily on third parties for the excursions and anything can happen (staff gets ill, transportation problems, over booking, you name it..) So I cant really blame the cruise line when this stuff happens...
