  1. I am making a educated guess at some point in March 2023 they will confirm all four ships locations and itineraries for Oct 2024 onwards, and maybe in Briliant Lady something oct / nov 2023.
  2. Could be a sign of a nice new system coming in for them and a smoother process for the on boarding. I think they may use SalesForce or simular and that often ahs customer journeys pre-planned and needs to be integrated into the new system. see how it goes hey!
  3. Best plan. Rockstars get the group reception, but the Mega gets a more personalized welcome in the cabin with a quick tour of the features, and often in room bubbles. Of course, you can then head to the manor and collect another glass to kee you going till the sail away lol.
  4. ALL shows on VV are free to Sailors. 🙂
  5. There is of course a door to the bathroom (or in the xl its a door to the shower and the loo separately). The hanger thing would fit over I'm sure. Sounds like your packing for a round the world cruise lol
  6. The beds convert to an L shape sofas because of this they have storage boxes at the headboard end and cannot be removed for the bedding. In terms of a case under the bed left open, I think it could be tight but would fit, but not impossible.
  7. Its also worth thinking about where you going to pop your case after unpacking. Standard cabins beds are a little too shallow for our cases to hide them under out of sight, but they fit vertically into the XL cabin wardrobe. The suites all have fixed beds, and you can easily get two suitcases under them.
  8. 1) Just like on land, you pick in the app where you want to eat, what time and make a booking. If your not keen on the tech, you can call them from 45 days out. If you want a walk up, you can do that and most voyages have availability for two people after a ten minute wait. 2) it’s more of a posh hotel feel. Some people drink, some don’t. You can go and have a dance in the night club, or sit in the bar and just listen to one of the many live bands on an evening. 3) they have four smaller hot tubs and one larger one on the ship, plus the ones for the suites in Richard roof top. Depending on time etc, you can get one but it won’t ever be to yourselves. The ships are more of a mega yacht feel that a mass line of many hot tubs from a production line. feedback - we have been on four voyages with virgin and on every one had people aged from 20’s to 80’s. Some people who have cruised a lot find the whole thing alien, as your not spoon fed what’s happening through announcements all the the time, and you don’t have to eat when the cruise line says at specific table and at a specific menu. any other questions (no matter how silly) just ask away.
  9. It might be the general quality of the experience. For example, they used to say $600 of extras always included, as they would say "hey on X brand you would pay $50 for softdrinks..." etc Do you have a link to the specific bit you want help with?
  10. If you think thats squishy... Cabin 14334Z is very narrow. Below is the pic of the bottom of the bed and how close it is to the desk... Good luck getting past!
  11. I do feel the need to kind of stick up a bit for the VV general staff on this thread. What is happening is management and marketing as a group look like they trying to offer the best they can so stand out from competitors, but operations as usual have to be the bad guys and say no / not possible / need of a rethink. Things go around in loops. To avoid any confusion of "well I was told by XXX" they just dont tell the people who answer the emails, phones and socials anything so they cannot be held to account. They are selling a new offering, on a new brand, and the hard and soft products are amazing. Yes they have work to do to polish the edges but they are getting there a little more each day. So, they have a reward scheme and lets face it, even without it, they are significantly better than the other lines. Its good to feel "part of the club", but even when they offered by club, we would have still gone with them.
  12. Just to add to this a little, its not just two or three people ones that dictate the layout. They alternate down the corridors and by floor so you can end up with the layout described in either a three or a two person configuration. What I would add though is that room itself is better for longer voyages. We have done a "standard" sea view, a cheeky corner, and XL twice. The XL is the best option 90% of the time as you get a larger bathroom, and the wardrobe is a touch larger so you can easy fit two large cases in it and your clothes hanging.
  13. IV I think will be reimagined to something else, but it was a VERY small space anyway.
  14. The TA being able to block book really annoys me. I get booking a few if they have a rate in terms of standard terrace, but when they book and hold suites when others want then just seems selfish. VV I think need to limit it so each TA can only book one suite per voyage. The agent can then sell to a known client and the rest of us can buy what we want without them hogging!!
  15. Good luck on the bidding as it does seem more a lottery. If your departing Miami they often in Terminal V have a desk where you can pay to upgrade when you arrive, so that’s always a plan B
  16. One of the happens cast said bye to the show but added they cannot wait to see it on Resilient, so looks like it’s dropped from the current ships and being added to the new ones.
  17. It’s just the current way of thinking. Shows do not have to be passive for the audience. Create memories with them feeling part of the show or the edge of the stage no longer being the line between voyeur and performer. The “untitled dance party thing”, is one of the best shows in the second half. I mean the dance moves from street to some meaningful story telling and every show you can bet at least one audience member crys. People think after 5 mins “not for me as it’s standing and we have to walk or move to avoid performers” but they missing the heart of the show.
  18. Yep. We bought one as well and it’s pride of place in our garden all summer.
  19. Dont worry, they have that covered with the "hammocks" on the balcony's... lol
  20. We have already done one mermaiden with virgin (Valiant) and you would not have known it was the case. Everything was working fine and spotless, crew was amazing. We had also done i think it was the third public sailing they did on Scarlet Lady, that was slightly more "start up", but still did not impact on the enjoyment at all.
  21. I find the porters an idea but maybe thats because we have only done four voyages. If you got to an airport and curb side someone took your bag from you (no choice) took it somewhere you have idea its going and then expected a tip you would tell them to jog on. But at a cruise terminal its normal lol
  22. WE have ONLY been on VV. We always thought we would try a cruise and give it a go, and saw Virgin appear during the pandemic and we gave it a go. Just what we hear from other lines in person on the ship or online puts us off even trying another line. The idea of someone barking over the PA system whats happening next "Butlins" style, or having a buffet (no matter how nice) and having to pay extra for a good sit down meal on an evening seems very much not for us. We all work hard all year to earn our money, so why spend it on brands and a vacation that your not fully supportive of the style, or up charges on?
  23. Just a general point on people like this, I find them so frustrating! I'm not "old" at 44, but it grinds my gears when your enjoying a tour or a meal, or anything like a show, and someone sits there the whole time on their phone recording it or talking non-stop "wow honey look at that guy, look see, look yer see him honey, see what he's doing, wow". I just get the urge to scream "FFS! they can see too, they are sat next to you, I don't want your narration, nor does anyone else and while your at it, don't watch it through a crappy 6" screen, look up and watch it now, in person yourself and enjoy the moment!" *steps off soapbox and calms down*
  24. Yep, helps with with a massive data capture and a flavour of the market pricing for the suites.
  25. Found why... its showing as the 2023 voyage, but we are booked on the 2024 voyage. 🙂 pfew!
