  1. Depends on the type of fare you booked - some are refundable, some are not.
  2. @joge107 were people waiting through the entire line or did they just pop in and out of different areas on the buffet? Thanks for sharing your experience!
  3. Which is why you don't cancel them but have be a No Show. Then those port fees/taxes will be refunded. Based on my experience in similar situation.
  4. Secret Deck would be a very relaxing place from which to enjoy the Fjords
  5. Self laundry is not offered @simplelife so bag option for us. Hope it comes back in good condition. There are mixed reviews on the quality of the laundry service, but their getting my business in Sept; prefer laundry vs lots of luggage.
  6. That did not come up for me. I booked first night anyway, but this is first time I've seen that notice. I will be really unhappy if I don't get the free wine - had to change reservations to get the Steakhouse on night 1.
  7. B2B Venezia out of NYC in Sept. Have not seen FTTF offered, made a couple calls to check on it and was told it's not available. Don't know if it's not available because it's sold out or not available because it's not being offered. They wouldn't tell me - just keep saying not available. Anyone know? Not really concerned about it for week 2, but definitely want it for the first week.
  8. Hey @Schoifmom each ship has a dedicated phone number; I know you'll want it before boarding, but it is printed on your cabin card. I'm sure you can also get it from HAL. We had the ship contact us during a Med cruise due to family emergency - family called the ships number and they reached out to us. They then let us use their phone to call our family (no charge). Hope this helps and all goes well.
  9. Finally - someone who understands the proper age for cruising with children. 🙄🤭
  10. This is the email address I forwarded the SheerID confirmation emails to.
  11. Hey @Heidi13 appreciate the list of items potentially being addressed during a dry dock. Slightly off topic question - we were on Eurodam April 29 - May 6 this year, just a couple weeks after she came out of dry dock. Would it be normal for balconies on pax cabins to look like they were in need of attention so soon? Is this something pax should report as a maintenance request?
  12. If you're able, eat in the MDR - it's a nice, calm treat on embarkation day.
  13. Happy it worked out for you. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  14. Saw (and used) the new library in May on Eurodam - happy it's coming back 😀
  15. Accessed by stairs only, no elevator, not on deck plan, no sign. Go outside on 11 like you're going to the Retreat then immediately walk up the stairs that will be directly in front of you. If you go into the Retreat area, you went too far. There are loungers up there and a shower for cooling off. Fabulous forward views to enjoy when coming into port. The sunsets up there are amazing. And yes, the spa cabin was great for quick access to Crow's Nest for Glacier Bay. If it's not too cold, the Secret Deck is perfect for that as it will be far less crowded than the bow; you may have it to yourself. Just know it can get windy since it's so high up. Enjoy!!
  16. The verbiage says "can book a HAL cruise.. to receive OBC" suggesting it's for new cruises. Also says it's combinable w/other OBC (so it can be stacked). This says "select cruises." I hadn't seen that before, but suspect it may be why some people get denied. I believe their intent was to get new bookings and they were not prepared for the number of requests on current bookings. Certainly could be worded more clearly and could have been executed more consistently. But I will accept anything they give me as it's OBC I didn't have before and is far more than the $12 or $16 (or whatever the amount) AARP membership fee, so it's a great value.
  17. Thanks @goldengatecruisersfor the lovely words and sharing. Glacier Bay is a special place.
  18. Hey @sapper1 my experience aligns w/LAFFNVEGAS and CrystalSpin - very important the person going just checks in as usual and if asked about the status of the other passenger, they say they believe they're coming. At some point close to sail away they may ask again, which is when the passenger simply says "I guess they're not showing up." They don't say "they canceled." Hope it all works out and you have a wonderful cruise.
  19. Yeah, I seem to remember saying a bit more than that, but that covers it!
  20. I've grabbed pre-made burger from Dive-In when the line was too long to wait. Probably lucky timing, but they were fresh, hit off the grill as a guy was wrapping & putting them out when I walked up. They were located at the Dive-In window on the right hand side Grand Dutch Cafe has a really good ham and cheese pannini-type (not panning but similar) sandwich. They're made fresh - hot, gooey, crispy and yummy!! Pair w/Dutch pea soup, follow with insanely huge apple pie and you've got Heaven at Sea!!
  21. We were in one (10003) Feb Nieuw Amsterdam. LOVED the convenient location to Secret Deck, Explorations coffee and Spa for 2x/day use of Thermalpass. We did NOT receive the special robe, iPad dock, table water feature thingy. We DID receive wooden mat (it hurt & we had to move it out of the way - it's big), yoga mot, flavored fizzy water. We also received a box fan as the a/c didn't work.
