  1. Yes, exactly how I interpreted the op/ author. Hopefully “ they” understand with all the comments/ help that has been given. Patience is of the essence.
  2. There are a ton of dress code suggestions threads on cruise critic out there ,so the only thing I’m going to say is yes to what you already said… for your 24 year-old son & any men traveling with you. A nice pair of pants( could be a dark color) and a dress shirt would be absolutely fine on formal night in the main dining room.. No need to go out and buy a suit coat if he does not have one already. The smart casual nights think polo/ golf shirt and khakis ….somewhere along the line of that.
  3. One device at a time per person with the plus cruise package. You don’t have to purchase a cruise package, you may just purchase Wi-Fi (50% discount for platinum & elite cruise status) which is unlimited for duration of cruise or there is an option to purchase for a 24 hour period. 4. Just had a friend on VV last week, ship went to Casablanca. They did not get off, they said too many rules?? They had a great day onboard.Passengers did get off of course, just my friends (4) did not.
  5. @memoak I was just providing a picture so the person that asked how close ….could judge for themselves. i’ve actually never measured how close in inches or feet (cm/ mm), but it’s close in my opinion.
  6. Just one more picture … when you book a cruise it definitely tells you if you’re booking a guarantee(OP never said if he or she booked the cruise themselves or through princess or through a travel agent …so perhaps this is why they didn’t realize what they had really booked.?) and gives you information on if you don’t want a guarantee, choose something else . While they …Op/author apparently wanted to go on this particular cruise and had no other choice of a mini suite with cabin assignment….But it’s definitely spelled out. Says cabin assignment in this location or a comparable location prior to sailing. Of course it never spells out that you’re going to find out your cabin assignment in October for a January cruise. I’m sure it’s happened ,but OP just needs to be patient. Hope they come back and tell us that they’ve got their cabin assignment Soon . Honestly, it can happen at any time that’s why they say up until sailing. If a cabin number and location is important to you ,you should never book a guarantee cabin. You know that when you book. yes, totally frustrating that the OP cannot understand this and thinks that Princess Customer Service should bend over backwards and give them an answer, etc. etc. -it’s clearly stated. I think they just missed this piece of paperwork somewhere along the line? I still say get a travel agent that understands you and you will have a lot less frustration. Many many people have had issues with the princess 800 number as the language barrier might be an issue ? so perhaps they just didn’t understand what the OP was asking. I really don’t know.
  7. @Ombud thanks for your livish thread. Glad ship is docked for all of you and I’m sure many stories to tell. Safe travels home.
  8. @rcmaheather On Sky Princess. Lunch options are slice pizza, salty dog grill,& buffet on the Lido deck. Alfredos , International Cafe ,and you would have to check the hours of Ocean Terrace & Vines once onboard or a Patter from a previous cruiser and dining room usually open noon-1:30 pm on sea days. As you already mentioned may order from Ocean now anytime. Breakfast is held in the dining room …just look at your Patter for the times .. it can vary on port days and sea days, the buffet, the international café, the door hanger. I believe reserve collection dining room is Estrella, enter on port side, but check your cabin or Patter for information. Breakfast & lunch no reservations, just show up during the opening times in the DR.
  9. Well Princess phone representatives are not as well versed as they use to be. I don’t know how you booked your cruise, but if you have a travel agent, I would highly recommend contacting them and having them reassure you. And for your next cruise, if you don’t have a travel agent, I highly recommend getting one. ( they are there for you and a very good one that cruises lots can answer just about everything, & you have a direct method of contact) A lot of your frustration probably could have been avoided. Princess definitely advertises when you book a guarantee cabin -all the ins and outs and here’s what it says below as others have also provided . So perhaps you just missed that. I understand that it was the only way to get a mini suite cabin on your particular cruise ….was to do a guarantee. Princess Guarantee cabin(straight from a Princess booking) Stateroom Details If you create this booking for the selected stateroom type and fare, then the location of your stateroom will be assigned prior to embarkation. You will receive your room assignment within your requested stateroom type. Should you prefer to confirm your stateroom in your ideal location today, then please check availability in other ship locations. Select the option to choose your own stateroom. Just an example a 7 day cruise in a balcony cabin Passenger chooses cabin starts at $949.00 Princess chooses cabin starts at $929.00 So your choice.
  10. @Vooshee I am an organized person as well, but sometimes “ things” are out of one’s control. Keep checking your travel summary for your cabin assignment/ #. Or if you booked through a travel agent enlist their help. Since your cruise is not until January 2025, even though you’ve been paid in full, just keep checking and one of these days, I’m sure you’re guarantee cabin number will pop up for you. And as others have said( if you don’t have a cabin assignment prior to traveling to the port ) ,no worries your luggage will get to cabin once you check in at the port & they will give you luggage tags and let you know what your cabin # is. Hopefully between now and the end of December, you will know and the waiting game will be over.
  11. @KarmaCruisers( Tim) hoping you will come back and tell us about the rest of your cruise even if it’s not live any longer. Hope you had a nice cruise with your family.
  12. Yes if you are on The Sun Princess in October, there is changes to location of venues. As Sun Princess gears up for her arrival into North America ahead of her much-anticipated inaugural Caribbean season and to complement the debut of our elegant new Sanctuary Collection, Princess Cruises is unveiling a series of location changes that will enhance the dining experience on board. The changes below take effect October 14, 2024. New Locations – The new Sanctuary Restaurant, exclusive for all Sanctuary Collection guests, will be found on Deck 8 aft (prior location of the Americana Diner). With a custom chef’s menu, dedicated waitstaff and stunning ocean views, this exclusive space takes luxury to a new level. – The Catch by Rudi is moving to deck 7, adjacent to the Piazza (former location of the Signature Restaurant). This venue offers a fresh take on seafood with Chef Rudi Sodamin’s contemporary interpretations of classic dishes, international fusion influences, highly creative presentations and an engaging dining experience. – The Butcher’s Block by Dario is moving to deck 7 forward (in former location of Crown Grill). In partnership with the world’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini, this specialty experience features a shared, family-style table serving up a carnivore’s paradise. – Crown Grill will be found on deck 7 aft (former location of the Reserve Collection Restaurant). This iconic specialty restaurant offers an intimate dining experience in a classically-elegant setting, with top-quality cuts of beef, chops and seafood. – The Americana Diner will be located on deck 9 aft. Serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites all day long, this eatery is an excellent option for those looking to sit down for a casual meal at any time of day. New Names – Horizons Dining Room (deck 6 aft) has been renamed the Soleil Dining Room- Traditional at 5 pm or 7:30 pm – Horizons Dining Room (deck 7 aft) has been renamed the Eclipse Dining Room- for reservable & walk in – Park19 has been renamed the SkyDeck Sports Court & Track The Sanctuary Collection, debuting October 14, elevates the art of relaxation and serenity, offering guests exclusive access the ship’s top-deck retreat area, along with a host of high-end amenities designed to enhance the overall cruise experience. These indulgences include exclusive private dining in The Sanctuary Restaurant, relaxation areas, a luxurious stateroom experience in all Suites (80) and designated Mini Suites (123) and Premium Deluxe Balconies (12), as well as the Princess Premier bundle with unlimited all-inclusive offerings.
  13. This is what the princess.com site says about mobility devices. I’m sure all of it , is subject to change, but I would think that everything would have to be cleared from the hallway and if it’s not ….a call to security or a call to the guest services desk or whoever you need to call to take care of the situation. I know everything that you read on the Internet or on princess.com isn’t actually what happens once onboard a ship and yes, it can vary from ship to ship, etc.… This is from Princess.com under FAQ’s under mobility & it is a portion of what it says. Your mobility device must be securely stored in your stateroom when not in use. This will ensure that hallways and other public areas are clear for other guests and crew to safely move throughout the ship. We do not offer alternate locations for mobility device storage onboard. For assistance onboard with charging your equipment in your stateroom, please contact your stateroom attendant.
  14. @Anita Latte thanks for the information. They don’t really plan on having a car so I’m sure they’ll find something that’s convenient hotel wise for them. They don’t need to do any of the touristy things. They’ve been there done that. They are just looking for a hotel to stay at for 2 to 3 nights prior to a cruise because they travel from the West Coast to Florida and they’re older and they want time to rest in between ,but they are walkers so that’s why I asked about walking to restaurants, but not a big deal if they have to take a taxi or figure it out.
  15. @GTO-Girl are any of these hotels that you mentioned in Port Canaveral area? within walking distance to a few restaurants? Asking for my parents as they don’t plan on having a car they just want to go stay at a hotel for a couple days in Port Canaveral area pre-cruise and then take public transportation ( taxi/ shuttle) to get to the port. They don’t do Uber or Lyft. they are used to staying in Fort Lauderdale couple days before cruise at the Embassy suites (17th st/ ave.)and they can walk to stores and restaurants. This will be their first time at Port Canaveral so it’s all new.
  16. Here’s some information, not necessarily about your reservation following you,but I would certainly hope so. 17. All ship dependent. The three cakes are usually in the international café of your ship, if it has one and the flavors are black forest, chocolate, and red velvet. The vanilla gelato Sundaes with all the candy/ small cake/ brownie pieces in them -you may get those at the gelateria area, swirls ,or coffee and cones depending on what ship you’re on. Most that have a package try 1 or 2 per cruise, and then they are done. They are unlimited,so……. For premier package. 2 per day for plus package.
  18. Do you have a travel agent they can help you out? if not call 800-774-6237 or email -accessofficeprincess@princesscruises.com Tell them you need wheelchair boarding assistance. If that doesn’t work the first “ cruise” worker you come across at the port( luggage drop off person) Ask where to get assistance. Find a bench for person that needs assistance and ask at door to terminal for assistance, etc.
  19. Might be true, might not,but @phantomII wants to use OBC, so….
  20. Here is what usually is in the initial set up, varies with availability. So for instance you don’t drink regular coke -ask for diet. So many scenarios/ options. Yes you may exchange items, talk to cabin steward or room service. They’ll get it all figured out for you, they will advise what can be exchanged for what.
  21. I posted Kai menu in #23. Here’s a portion of that menu. This is a sample menu not necessarily from The Sun. Set menu cover charge is spelled out whether you have a package or just want to go and pay the cover charge if on standard cruise fare.
  22. @phantomII should be SD reservation's held back once onboard to use your OBC. Call dine line once onboard or use app to book once onboard.
  23. Nope not in writing per se ….except premier and plus package benefits. Some casual restaurants are only open certain hours,( i.e lunch) while specialty open dinner. So I think those that are interested should ask once onboard if they may “ do” premier unlimited for lunch & dinner, I would think so. Or those interested should do a new thread for what’s really happening onboard with how many times you can eat per day for premier package on each ship and venue. I know that those SD venues that take reservations, only 1 may be made .
  24. @MsSoCalCruiser not sure what you’re referring to , it was always known that premier benefits previously had 2 specialty dining pre fixe courses, per voyage . I don’t think anyone on CC decided ,…… My quote was also cut off. I also said that those that are were interested in Premier, should check out the venue to see what is included or to look at the menus. They’re out there ….that way they can make an informed decision whether they want premier and how it’s interpreted. Only Princess can do the enforcement or tell what the rules are ,not me. “ One” can upgrade to Premier once you’re onboard on day one and two -if it’s still available & not to capacity, but if people have any issues with it and they don’t understand it …..then go directly to all the venues and ask.
