  1. Yes you are “ allowed “ on Princess to bring soda/ pop of your choosing onboard . I believe it is 12 cans, but probably not challenged if more?
  2. @Ken the cruiser Thanks!, just my curiosity. It’s so much better when somebody is actually on a ship to ask these questions. Another CC poster said they got diet Dr Pepper on Regal Princess this year, but again I’ve just never heard of it on Princess, but it very well could be a new thing or varies from ship to ship. So just taking an informal poll and if you don’t have time, not a problem. I know there would be a lot of happy people if Dr Pepper was available and if diet Dr Pepper was available they’d probably be happy too,but I just don’t think it is available on Princess.
  3. @robbinsca totally agree it should be available onboard and yes, I know that you can bring on soda/pop onboard Princess. Not really the reason why I’m trying to take a poll. Just want to know if it’s available .another cc poster said they got diet Dr Pepper on the Regal Princess this year, so I am just trying to see if it is really available on other Princess ships. So at this point looking for first hand knowledge for those that are onboard . Thanks.
  4. If anyone onboard could check for me at any of the bars or a few of the bars. Do they have diet Dr Pepper or regular Dr Pepper. My opinion is they do not ,but trying to take an informal poll on the subject. Maybe it is a new thing onboard or varies from ship to ship? Thanks.
  5. @LACruiser88 trying to do an informal poll.Do you know if any of the bars onboard have diet Dr Pepper or regular Dr Pepper? Just curious -my opinion is that I have never seen it on a Princess ship ,but perhaps it’s a new offering. If you have time, ask around in a few of the bars for me. Thanks.
  6. Just taking an informal poll. If you have time -anyone on board, can you ask at any of the bars or a few of the bars if they have diet Dr Pepper or regular Dr Pepper. It’s more of a curiosity thing than anything. My personal opinion is, I’ve never seen it on a Princess ship, but…
  7. Just curious if any of the bars onboard are offering diet Dr Pepper or regular Dr Pepper? My opinion is -they don’t ,but if you could check a few of the bars for me and ask only if you have time. Just trying to take a poll of what ships may or may not have it.
  8. Anyone onboard can you confirm or deny -diet Dr Pepper or regular Dr Pepper available ? Could someone check a few of the bars and ask. Just curious ,my opinion -I didn’t think Princess offered this but ….
  9. @latebuyer for the juice choices think of mixers. As you said juices available for free at breakfast hours only. So classic soda package juices would “ kick” in after that. Someone mentioned diet Dr. Pepper ( never seen on Princess- maybe a new item?? Or varies ship to ship) Here is a description of the classic soda package loosely. Some things may be incorrect, but you get the gist. And I do believe you can order the classic soda package once you get onboard -you could confirm with one of the bars of the offerings & are they going to be satisfactory to you ,before you actually purchase it. I believe the mocktails are $7.00 if purchased with no package plus the added gratuity. So the mock tails are the strawberry on fire, sunshine daiquiri, Chocobanana and Key West cooler. I also think in the juice choices there’s grapefruit, tomato, and Clamato.
  10. @RSF Cruiser when you look at your shore excursions for San Francisco does it give you an option to book for day two in the morning any shore excursions? That might be a telltale sign as well. I know you’re not scheduled according to Princess for being in San Francisco two days in a row ,but maybe the shore excursions give you an option to book for day one and two and that very well could be the itinerary change. If not??
  11. @RSF Cruiser got it on the itinerary…. Well hopefully before you have to make final payment, you will know if Catalina is a for sure or not since you don’t want to spend two days in San Francisco. Hopefully that’ll give you enough time to cancel your cruise? Agree, why does Princess have to be so secretive about the itinerary? I know when you sign up for a cruise, the itinerary can change at Cruiseline discretion or the captains discretion, etc. But at this point, I would think they would know if they’re stopping in Catalina or San Francisco longer, but obviously time will tell. How about looking at www.sfport.com, cruise schedule should be there for your particular cruise that you are booked for. Maybe that will be the insider information?
  12. @RSF CruiserNo insider information. Catalina Island shore excursions are probably not available to book yet because I believe October 2024 is the first time this season that Princess will call upon Catalina. Are you wishing to book shore excursions in Catalina? Or just curiosity on your part? You could always contact www.lovecatalina.com or www.visitcatalinaisland.com & see what’s available through them. It would probably be way cheaper than booking through the cruise line. Perhaps the cruise line already has taken all the available spots? It’s seems like you could just check the tour calendar on the island and see if that’s the case. There are bikes to rent ,golf carts to rent, Eco tours, etc. Living in San Diego -have you not been to Catalina Island before? Agree with other posters, not a lot to do there, but I love Catalina Island. Been there many many times as I grew up in Southern California. Depending on your mobility -walking around, looking in the shops ,or going to the beach, is all very nice, but if that’s not your style then yes they will definitely have some sort of tours for the cruise ship passengers. Just remember this is a tender port ,so it takes a little time to get to and from the dock. And I don’t know why other posters are telling you that they would prefer a different city to port in. I know that was not your question and obviously I’m sure you know that , if you didn’t like this itinerary, you could cancel . So hopefully others will stick to the subject ,but …..
  13. @Lorenky My opinion. Keep reading cc and what passengers are really wearing on formal nights in the dining rooms, not specialty, casual, or buffet. Make your own opinion, seems you have read enough to know. You definitely have a long time to decide what clothing you are bringing, since your cruise is not until January 2025. And goodness knows -there are plenty of dress code threads on cruise critic. Have no idea what Princess rep you talked to or where they were ( location)assuming you called the 800 number, honestly most of them have never set foot on a ship, and again my opinion only -they don’t know what’s happening . You will definitely get a bunch of opinions on this topic and a few facts. You will be appropriate to dine in the dining room with what you stated. Honestly the ship restaurant “ fashion police” are not in the business to turn you away to dine unless it is really out of line. They have so much more on their “ plate” to deal with.- my opinion.
  14. @STLCARDS82 yes, they usually have a veterans meet up and as others have said just look at your event listing/patter/newsletter once you get on board every day to see when it will be held.Or perhaps it’s on the daily app? My husband has attended a few when we have been onboard a Princess ship. Also, if you don’t know already, you can get military onboard credit if you submit your paperwork to Princess and you only have to submit it one time ,not every time you cruise. I believe it’s your DD 214 ,but obviously check with Princess and see what you need to send in or how you send it . We did it along time ago and we don’t remember. ….
  15. Welcome to your first few posts to cruise critic. I’ll be armchair, cruising along with you ,looking forward to your posts. Sorry about the pictures. I have no idea -they should download just fine, but just keep practicing under the choose files or other media button.
  16. @LACruiser88 great Live from and great secluded beach photos . Everyone is going to want to go to that beach now. Nice with the ship in the background. Enjoying following along.
  17. @MissiCruzs short ribs & lobster was the surf & turf on the menu? Odd combination to me. I am enjoying your Live from. Nice photos.
  18. LIVE from the SUN Princess - 9 Mar 2024 - 10-Day Mediterranean - Second Voyage CanadianBurger is author. Wish I knew how to share this, but I don’t .so here’s the title. This is a great review. Just use the little magnifying glass to search for this exact title. or maybe someone else can help by sharing all the Sun Live from’s
  19. @1965 another example of Princess favorites menu from the Discovery. I didn’t include every night, but the salmon menu changed quite a few of the nights to how it was served. I know you were asking about the steak but for others that were wondering…It seems to be a different princess favorite menu -ship to ship & night to night.
  20. Here are a few Sun Princess - Princess favorites.
  21. Perhaps you could look at one of the Live From on the particular ship that you are going on. Lots of people post the menus. Seems that not all ships have the same always available menu. I’ve seen a 7 ounce filet mignon for $19 every night in the main dining room, but again, it could very ship to ship ? As far as a steak available every night of your cruise in the main dining room that’s included in your cruise fare, I would say no. But maybe recent cruisers will chime in. I have just been following a few live from’s and they post the menus and I do not see steak every night on their particular ship.
  22. Marco Polo, but there is a port schedule website for your exact cruise & ship. sjport.com
