Just my opinion only, but I don’t think you should be asking for information to submit a claim on a public forum. In an earlier post ( #4) I provided the information and advised you to call Princess or your travel advisor if you had one. I even gave a link to file a claim. Yes, plenty of people have had to cancel their cruise and use whatever form of travel insurance that they had. When you need to cancel a cruise or trip ,you cancel it with the cruise line/ vacation operator etc.and then after the fact, you file a claim with the insurance company. They will ask for certain paperwork to be sent or uploaded to their site. They will determine at that time if your medical Reason is valid at that time . As far as you asking what you’re entitled to …. Most on CC can not advise you on what is covered for your specific reason for canceling ,that’s up to the insurance company. We do not have your specific insurance information that you took out,nor do we want it. Only the insurance company is authorized to tell you what is covered for you. You should have that information and look at the fine print. Call Princess since you took out their insurance through Anon.

@Crusin Karen so you are on one of the first cruises to implement the new DR structure starting tomorrow 9-14-24. I do have for The Enchanted Capri DR as walk in Amalfi as reservable/ flexible DR. So I am confused by your post. What dining room have you reserved if any? There is another chart “ out there”, but not sure how accurate. The one I have been posting is coming from fellow Cruise Critic passengers that have booked each DR,but as accurate as information I have been given. Please let us know when you get onboard,maybe a copy of the Patter listing the DR. Yes main dining room list looks helpful,but blurry. I have a thread called new dining ship by ship and lists all the dining rooms as Cruise critic members have posted what they’ve been able to reserve for main dining and the location of every dining room by deck. This a little easier to read quickly than the one I have. thanks. Do you happen to have one that’s not as blurry

Could you use your large amount visa card to buy yourself OBC via website,phone call to travel agent, or Princess and then once onboard upgrade? Are you trying to upgrade from standard fare to plus or plus to premier on the cruise fare? Or just a drink package? Either way, did you book through a travel agent or straight through Princess? Is your cruise paid in full? I’m sure you could just use your large amount visa gift card if you called Princess and or use that gift card as your card on file( folio) or use that gift card at guest services once onboard to apply to folio( charging privileges) and then upgrade on app right after visit to guest services. You can also e-mail Princess with your question at princess@buyatab.com and a Gift Card customer service specialist will respond within 72 hrs. Are you able to go under manage my cruise under your booking number?

Try the Web version or the app and see if you’re able to make main dining room reservations if that’s what you wish to do. I have seen lots of people make reservations and they are not paid in full. Some are not platinum or elite either. so not a definitive on DR reservations.

OBC for excursions can be used prior to “ being “ onboard , because Princess allows that. I’m not sure anybody knows the answer of why you can’t use it for other pre-purchases.

They do not change much year to year unless you happen to catch an update. Never seen a definitive schedule by Princess. They definitely change though. Because quite some time ago they used to have on the first night in the dining room only -the flourless chocolate cake and it was my absolute favorite. I don’t believe it’s on the menu any longer ….for quite some while. I think the only way to catch some different menus is do a seven day cruise and then do a 10 day cruise or a 12 day cruise etc. those menus will be a little bit different. or mix up the main dining room with a few specialty($) or casual venues($).

@Cherlynn since you’re in a suite you should get embarkation night specialty dining included ( crown grill if desired) probably not a worry right now on that reservation. Sorry I missed the title of your thread. I was just looking at the extra dining part. So if you want to book more than one specialty dining, don’t know what ship you’re on, but some ships have a dedicated suite lounge and concierge, they also are able to help onboard with other specialty reservations. Keep trying the app or web version to book if desired for additional specialty dining.

When you say extra, do you mean specialty dining? Or do you mean main dining room reservations ? If you’re talking about main dining room reservations, yes you may do that ahead of time and your choices will be traditional dining approximately 5 PM and 7:30 PM or the reservable/flexible dining room reservations every 20 minutes. Or a walk-in dining room and it’s just that -you walk in when you feel like you would like to eat bound by the the times that they’re open ( no reservations) Yes,try your app or web version and book.( specialty or main dining) If you have standard fare cabin ,pay upon making a reservation.( specialty) If you don’t have a cruise premier package you will need to pay upon reservation (specialty)if you do it pre cruise. If you have the Premier package, you should not be charged, but that’s subjective. If you have lots of onboard credit, then you probably need to wait till you get onboard ,so that you can utilize that. Lots of different scenarios, depending on what fits your plan.

I have No first hand experience with Spellbound. Here is mixed posts on dress code that I have seen. I understand you cannot reserve spellbound until you get on the ship ,so therefore you would not know what the dress code is when you are packing at home ,until you book it -so I have no idea if that is correct. Here’s the post that I’ve seen on the Internet -obviously I have no idea what’s true and what’s not. Spellbound on Sun Princess From Reddit. Approximately August 2024. Can you tell me if they were enforcing a dress code ? Mixed comments I’ve heard. because when I was on .. a suit jacket was required. Which caught some ppl by surprise. But have head they relaxed this. Invite still says cocktail attire, and cocktail attire is expected. They do have suit jackets for men who haven't brought one, but the one person in our group of 40 who didn't have a suit jacket was not offered one (although they also arrived late). Following dinner, guests are escorted to a charcoal-black door, where they wait to be summoned into Spellbound.

On the ocean now (app) menu there is quite a few complimentary food items that are hot and cold. If you have the plus or the premier cruise package the $14.99 per voyage fee is waived. If You’re on the standard fare you pay $14.99 once per voyage. So for those that miss the time cut off for the main dining room for embarkation lunch and don’t want to go to the buffet or if their ship does not have international café etc. On most ships a burger/ pizza by the slice is open on all days of cruise.( open deck- usually Lido) Slice ,Trident Grill, or Salty dog Grill -not gastro pub. Ocean now to their cabin or wherever they wish is an option. Conflicting answers to if the food portion is available on embarkation day, but until someone posts that it’s absolutely a NO for ocean now food delivery on embarkation day … I am just letting others know that there are options out there. As far as the items I’ve seen : soup, grilled cheese, pizza, Hamburgers, french fries, Chicken sandwiches ,chicken fingers, sandwiches,& more.

Here’s what the invite says, I would hope that when you book this venue that it would tell you the dress code .I have not been on the Sun princess. Is it enforced? I have seen mixed posts on a few sites. Because of carry on only -Could your husband wear his suit coat jacket on the plane if you’re flying? Or if you’re not flying just wear it on the day of embarkation and then go to the laundry room and iron it.

@JamieLogical maybe you can see if I have posted the Gigi’s menu that you had on the Enchanted,since you ate there quite a few times. Or is this The Suns menu? I didn’t post the whole menu -just the rolled eggplant and the veal pockets portion. So just The Sun Princess Gigi’s menu is different ? unless someone has other information . So is the menu that I posted for Gigi’s -other ships in the Princess fleet? Just Not The Sun menu? I will re label my menu to reflect . Thanks so much. Pretty sure Sun princess has Alfredo menu,not Gigi’s even though similar?

To add to my above post, even though it’s been on many threads. If you would like to purchase the plus package, it is $60 per day , for length of voyage ,per person for the first two passengers in the cabin.( both have to purchase) Premier cruise package is $90./day per length of voyage per person. So if you’re on a 7 day cruise, the total cost for two passengers for the plus cruise package is $840 usd. Obviously , just do the math for a 10 day cruise, 14 day cruise, etc. There is no proration if you purchase it once onboard let’s say 12 hours after you embark. Quite a few passengers have lots of onboard credit that they wish to use and that is the only way they can purchase it -once they get onboard.

Here’s the information from a recent Patter,the dark blue box is difficult to read,but it says upgrade on embarkation day in the princess cruises app or with a Crew member . 48 hours after boarding the package upgrades option won’t be available. You pay for every day/ night of your voyage if you upgrade from standard to plus or plus to premier, does not matter if you purchased it prior to your cruise or two hours after you get onboard or 10 hours after you get onboard, etc. If you plan on drinking anything that comes with a cost or using the Wi-Fi then it’s best to purchase it right away ( onboard) so you get all the benefits

So is this menu for Gigi’s outdated? I see eggplant & veal.

@l2f sorry I do not have that answer for you about picking different dining mates on different nights within a larger group.

I don’t think I understand what you mean by can you book Savoy without linking. You could book the Savoy and they could book the Savoy, but would maybe end up or most probably end up at two different tables unless they try to sort it all out when you arrive to DR. Much easier just to link your friends/family members that you want to dine with when you make the reservation. Try this. Go to profile and select your cruise date. You will see "Ocean Ready". Scroll down to "Journey View". There you will see "Travel Companions. Select that feature and you will see "travel Party" "add guests" Select that and then you can add your friends booking number to link them together.( might be old app) or try this- might be new app. Go to “book dining”, then chose the little heart to view my current reservation, then chose a date and selected “add reservation”, chose a speciality restaurant ( or dining room of choice)then scrolled down to “guests” and clicked on that. On the resulting page there is a little man icon with a + sign next to it in the upper right corner. Select that then add your shipmates booking number. or From inside the app, click the restaurant you want to eat at first, scroll down to ‘guests’, hit the blue pencil edit button left of the pictures, then click the person+ icon up in the top right corner. This is where you add the other parties booking number and get them added to your list of ‘guests’ that you will then be able to add to your reservation.
