  1. The outlet in the bathroom says for shavers only , in my opinion useless for any other sort of the charging device.
  2. @CruzeQueen2 in my opinion yes ,try a AK land tour. Highly recommend. First time to AK just did cruise. Second time did land tour first then cruise. It’s very organized. We did train from Denali lodge area to Whittier( ship) We thought we would be bored all that time we were on,but it was great. We paid for food on land tour.Spent 2 nights Mt. McKinley Lodge, did day trip from there to Talkeetna. Only spent 1 night at Denali lodge, which wasn’t enough, but that is what our tour did. 2 nights would have been perfect.
  3. @Buckeye10640 I included a picture of a menu .I don’t know what ship or what year or month this was. Not my menu photo, see above
  4. Wear your lovely purple dress. The theme for the evening is white & gold . nobody has to dress in those colors .
  5. I love gelato as well. If you dine in the dining room for lunch and or dinner ice cream is served at those meals. I believe the plus package includes two premium desserts per day. Maybe your husband can get the gelato without the elaborate confections? ,with the package? I’m not sure how much it cost to buy gelato without a package ,but I do believe it’s less than five dollars and you get quite a bit for that price for three scoops of gelato Happy ice cream & gelato eating . I included a picture of a menu .I don’t know what ship or what year or month this was. Premium Desserts Indulge your sweet tooth each day with two Princess Premium desserts, elaborate confections overflowing with gelato, pastry and candy mixtures that will be available within Gelateria, Swirls or Coffee and Cones.
  6. Pretty much exactly what I’m talking about - the sticker/ decal says to maintain the comfort in YOUR Stateroom, please keep the balcony door closed. What if you don’t care if your air conditioning is on and a matter fact you turned your air conditioning off or your heat off and you like to leave your balcony door open ,that’s what that sticker implies to me. And I know that a sticker can’t explain everything ,but unfortunately there seems like there’s going to be problems with a/c ,but just my opinion obviously. I think yes it’s nice and polite to keep your balcony door closed so you don’t affect the other cabins ,but again not everyone is on cruise critic that cruises or on any other social media . They wouldn’t even have this information. That sticker implies nothing about other cabins ,so I believe this issue is going to be ongoing . seems like a suggestion only.
  7. I’m not even booked for a cruise coming up ,so it’s been a while. I have just never seen the stickers or decals. I’m not looking to argue about offenders or principals of how or why. I would say most people that leave the balcony door open have no idea about how the a/c works and that they might affect cabins around them. Heck we’re on vacation -that’s usually the least of most peoples worries. Of course I’m sure people try to be considerate ,but I don’t think anyone tries to figure any of this out unless there is specific literature and/or stickers that say do not leave balcony door open ,you will affect other cabins . Most passengers don’t know unless of course they leave the balcony door open and their AC is triggered to go off in their cabin, then of course they really notice , if they’re not informed. So if these stickers are on every balcony door great ,if not that’s where the problem ls.I’ve never seen any literature from Princess nor a door sticker . I just wanted to see a photo of a balcony door sticker and what the verbiage says. Nothing more .
  8. I would like to see a photo of this balcony slider door sticker/decal that says please keep slider door closed . Are they on all the ships now or just the newer ones? Thanks
  9. Everyone on Princess has Anytime Dining aka Dine My Way. No set dining times like the past. There is no difference as far as the food goes in each of the dining rooms that are complimentary anyways. You may go to all 3 during your cruise. Just the decor and location on ship is different. i would say preference would be the midship d.r. Because it’s easier to get to.
  10. Do you have a balcony cabin? Is there a sticker on your balcony slider that says do not leave door open?
  11. @Buckeye10640- thanks, never seen the Do not leave balcony slider open sticker. good information
  12. Thanks for coming back to explain more, terrible either way that they are not being satisfied or accommodated properly. I Agree ,sorry does not go far on a vacation in a smallish cabin.
  13. We’ll I guess op/ author has not been back to explain outcome. I’m not even sure they were on board ,just they had Family on board. Either way hope the family got everything solved . i have never had Princess specifically tell passengers in literature or otherwise say if you have a balcony cabin you must keep the balcony door closed. ( it would be posted on slider or in cabin)There are plenty of us that like to keep our balcony door open and listen to the ocean as we sail. Some hotel rooms, once you open the sliding door the air conditioning goes off ,don’t think this happens on any Princess ship ,but I could be wrong about that. So if this was truly happening (I.e. other cabins will be affective temperature wise if your cabin slider is open)Princess would advise us to keep cabin balcony door closed, just like no smoking in your cabin is definitely explained.
  14. No there would not be a dedicated hotel shuttle from LAX airport to your San Pedro hotel. ( not close enough) And $60 Uber or Lyft is not a bad price ,it does fluctuate depending on the time of day and or the day of the week. I do believe the Princess transfer bus that you are signed up for from the ship back to the airport is $29 a person .I would skip all the Princess transfer buses and just take Uber or Lyft or some sort of van shuttle service , so Much easier in my opinion. You get much more personal service than waiting for a whole bus to load up and drop everybody off at each terminal at LAX.
  15. @monakayk I do not have first hand experience at this ,but if I’m understanding you ... you want to disembark in San Francisco collect your luggage in the luggage area and then you want Princess to send your luggage on a transfer bus without you ( Who would collect your luggage once it’s at the airport? )and you want to walk around Fishermans wharf and then catch the transfer bus to the airport? I don’t think Princess works that way ,but I could definitely be wrong . Usually when you sign up for the Princess transfer bus after you disembark the ship you and your luggage meet at a specific time( think before 10 am) and you hop on the bus and go to the airport with your luggage under the bus and then you get off at your designated terminal and check your own luggage in . Some cities you can get off the ship and take a sightseeing tour and then they’ll drop you off at the airport, if you have a late afternoon/night flight and your luggage stays under the bus while you tour around .( i.e. Ft Lauderdale) Maybe there’s a place in San Francisco to store your luggage? I have no idea on that one . I’ve never seen one but I wasn’t looking for one either . You also might want to check the cruise critic West Coast departure forum, somebody might have an answer for you . Maybe there’s a hotel close by and you could check with the porters and leave your luggage there? Again might be a safety issue ,don’t know. But you could say you just checked out of your room and you’d like to store your luggage before you go to the airport -might work ??
  16. Are there any current Princess ships going out from San Pedro at this time of year? I think I see a cruise that leaves June 17 and June 24 ,perhaps somebody will post then? Not sure if any have left since this labor issue has started??
  17. If you’re platinum and above a 50% discount on the Internet. They are packages now ,there’s no minutes ,it’s unlimited for the duration of your cruise. Although I do believe you can purchase one day (24 hr block of time)and get a 50% discount as well . Everything on most cruise lines are different in 14 years time. One difference on Princess is the Internet. Another is no set dinner time( i.e. traditional dining time) To the OP @karinad-I know you said that you were done because of some other remarks, but if you ask a specific question of what has changed you might get a better answer. I agree with another poster -it’s a tall order to ask what has changed in 14 years because it’s quite a bit .
  18. Usually the buffet. Some evenings in the Platinum,Elite, & Suite Lounge. If op doesn’t answer, this is where I have seen it.
  19. @phabricWell I hope you find an excursion to your liking in that port and or you get refunded back to your credit card the amount you paid.
  20. @phabric did you try to book yourself again for that same excursion that is not showing up in your account? Or is the shore excursion totally gone from that port? are any shore excursions showing available to book for the particular port?
  21. You may also take on your own flowers. You just may not take them off after the cruise is over ,although I don’t know who would want to ,they pretty much would be “ spent” after a seven day or 10 day cruise
