  1. Prepare to take out a 2nd mortgage on the house for Icon. Just this morning icon was released thru spring 2026. People are saying...NO. .. and I have wonder and utopia both booked in 2025. Some booked Icon when the first bookings came out and got deals a year ago. .. now ... my TA posted so far he hasnt had even one inquiry to book at these rates this morning. Idk but read insides 3k, balcony 5k. Of course I get a big discount, group, balcony and solo .. not one person is posting they are booking Icon at these rates. Wonder was 3k ish for inside balcony, these are 2k more than wonder. I'm a no. Utopia is just as new (hasnt started yet) but going to do 3/4 days. My 4 day 1k ..so double is about 2k. Vs 7 days on Icon. No way for me either. Maybe no one will book and prices will come down. I didnt realize this ship built for families and more 3/4 cabins than others. Mardi gras looking pretty good?
  2. Onboard I've seen anything from 23.99 to 29.99 per day depending on ship. I get 2 days free and can only apply it onboard. It's still cheaper even for me to pre purchase.
  3. Yes they added 18% to the price for mandatory gratuities. Paid up front. I dont know if it's been fixed but the only one I found that didnt charge me 18% when I paid before my cruise was hibachi lunch. Maybe the glitch fixed, but all the rest charged me 18%. Also it's very important they schedule all 3 nights when they board. If they wait the best dining times fill up. Go to a pay restaurant and book asap when they board.
  4. Radiance at the OJ bar and coffee bar, neither had a printer to print out a receipt to add a tip. Had to use cash to tip.
  5. I'd be suspicious if I were you. We already know the ceo and ta confirmed they hold back cabins so the choices are fewer. Keep checking.
  6. I've never seen lobster at golden corral. I guess I'll have to stick to $5 if I want a 3rd lobster. Sometimes they are extra small. I wouldn't normally get 3, but I have skipped everything else to eat 2. I'd pay $5 if I was still hungry. The steak I had on carnival I only ordered it once and it was all gristle. It's not like a strip steak i get on rcl. Not sure if a strip steak is the same as your striploin. I will try it again on dream. It cant be worse than what I was served. Carnival wins for lunch as I love fast food. I often get a burger and fries before it closes at 6 pm to get me thru dinner if not a pay restaurant. Hopefully the new menus are better than before. Always food to get by, .. get thru dinner. Carnivals weak spot imo. I wish every ship had a JiJis.
  7. Odd I've only seen a $250 pp deposit for a balcony, $500 for 2 in a balcony on rcl for 7 days. What cruise did you see $700. I've got 12 in my signature and not a one is $700 for a balcony on rcl. What a odd amount. For group rates I pay deposit for 2. Never saw $700 or even heard of someone paying that odd amount. $750 would be 3 in a balcony for 7 days. Maybe a longer cruise?
  8. I'm a reader and my favorite place is the bar up high in the aft. I think of as the Crows nest. It's all glassed in and you can see out the glass 3 directions. There is a bar on adventure like this My other favorite is sitting in aft. I love watching the aft wake. Or sit overlooking the promenade where you can see out at the ocean while music and stuff is going on.
  9. Just be prepared that Baltimore might have a winter storm delaying you getting out. Plus it will be cold onboard when you leave. The other 2 ports are in high season and the chances of a big storm hitting florida in feb would be less. But if you are ok with the above and have a friend in Baltimore I'd pick that. He can help make it stress free. Enjoy.
  10. Have you priced flights? That might enter into it for me. Ship wise adventure is the newest though not that new. The other 2 are older ships and will have less to do and fewer choices to eat. Personally I want at least a promenade. I was on radiance and grandeur, similar classes as the oldest 2 and I'm not a fan of pizza up in the solarium. I loved radiance and had the best service and food. Hot and great service. So vision maybe. But I'd prefer adventure Of course no way im flying to a port for 6 days. Period. If I cant make it a b2b, it's not worth the cost of travelling to the port imo. Can you drive to any of those ports? FYI add on feb you could run into a winter storm out of baltimore. Pre covid I remember a bad storm and a lot of people didnt fly in 2 or 3 days ahead, and 1 day ahead airport closed. They missed their cruise. Couldnt get to the port until roads were cleared, so get a hotel very very close to the port. There is a reason Baltimore cheaper in Feb.
  11. At what cost? I was suggesting a way without extra cost just so they could leave things as they are. And leave on the cruise. Changing pax after final payment might make them reprice the cruise, almost always a expensive way to go. Sure after they board beds can and should be switched around. Sorry not sure what you mean about 2 children.
  12. There is someone assigned. I was suggesting they be a no show. Once onboard they wouldnt throw him off the ship and someone can sleep in his cabin with him. I doubt at this late date someone else can be subbed, if the cruise is next month, october. But call and ask.
  13. I tried the works at JR last dec and also thought it wasnt what I expected. I remember a dish with lots of stir fried onion and peppers. Very few in what I got and half cooked scrambled eggs. I may try it again next week minus the eggs or ask that they cook the eggs well done. I havent tried it since, but will probably. It used to be so good. I too missed all the veggies.
  14. A 3rd lobster is $5 now I've read. Seems reasonable.
  15. Is it possible for the little tyke to board with the rest of you. Let the uncle br a no show.
  16. I dont think this is royal. I read celebrity does this. I agree with the posters saying the child inherits, doesnt even need to take another cruis doesn't matter where they are booked on royal.
  17. I would call. I know for rcl my ta always can buy it for me and add it to my cost.
  18. Hahahaha. I saw that and thought it was like $6. Last ship didnt have a printer at the oj stand and I never saw a price. I also think $11 is higher than it was, but never got a slip. I can ask next week.
  19. I was so sure I had seen posts that people were able but it's been a while, before covid.
  20. Idk @Ourusualbeachwould know. I've just seen some who called and they were able to add a baby as a 5th in a cabin. I never asked why. He might know.
  21. I'm sure they have it behind the coffee bar in the WJ. Just ask. I saw a mom and 2 kids bring 3 bowls of cereal up and he poured it from a half gallon container onto their cereal. Every ship will have it.
  22. I'd bet its offered somewhere near the WJ. The fresh oj. Last sept what I had was kinda awful. Like battery acid. Last march was wonderful. Idk but maybe sept isnt a tip top time for fresh oranges. I'm cruising soon, in a week and will know. Look around or ask in the buffet, crew will know where the machine is.
  23. Try booking from online. You may have to redownload the app if you still have trouble. I book my shows, sign in and buy stuff from online, not the app. I use the app once I'm onboard.
  24. I got $250 obc, a 14 day journey cruise. Just added a 3rd excursion and I will spend onboard to eat. Lovely obc. Mine is a regular booking i believe. Never had trouble getting obc.
