When I booked izumi for instance I had to pick a date and then a time. When I was on oasis they were pre toasting the bagels in the park cafe. I asked for one to be toasted fresh. Lol. They retoasted a already toasted bagel and burnt it. I was like nevermind. What I wanted was a hote bagel to kinda melt the cream cheese. My cabin steward on oasis equally unsocial and didnt even ask when I wanted cleaning. But radiance 2 weeks later the crew was the best ever. .. so I think it's just oasis. No biggie. I'm still going to cruise. I wouldnt judge on one cruise.

I was on a completely different excursion that got added to our guide said would only add 15 minutes. We werent offered the one he took, it wasnt a choice.

I try and book black friday or when there is a good sale. I got 35% off onboard prices black friday and 30% off last sept excursion prices. It's easy to cancel and rebook for me if prices go lower. I use obc from ta and owning stock. Solo so just 1 ticket.

Carnival now starts cheers on day 2. I can remember when they started day 1. People used to have threads discussing if they should wait a day and start the next day on day 2 and save a whole day of cheers billing. Maybe so many waited is why carnival decided just start the next day. I had cheers on vista and on breeze. Breeze short 4 and 5 days, I really minded waiting a whole day to start, but no choice. It's how carnival does it. That welcome aboard drink not part of cheers outing Galveston out of texas on carnival. Another big difference with rcl I noticed is on private beaches cheers isnt good on carnival.

Cruise prices are so crazy right now might not be worth it. I think close in prices are shockingly high.

Mine worked better on allure than on older ships. Value is in your own eyes. It's cheaper to pre purchase now in the planner than onboard unless you just want to buy a day or two.

Thanks. Yes it's been very hard on me, wasnt expected. The good thing maybe is this thread is about are things better or worse since covid. Over on rcl the threads are omg the prices. I'm seeing more than double what I booked at. I used to post here I can book rcl cheaper than carnival but rcl sure raised prices. And wonder is currently their newest ship. I book when itineraries for rcl come out, but last release only booked 2, oct and dec 2024. No more deals. Carnival is going back to being about the same to book. For me it's about prices. I love deals. They dont exist any more unless I take up gambling more seriously. Rcl has lower group prices, balcony discounts, the solo discount of another 25% but now comes out much the same. Pre covid I could book carnival about $100 a day. I didnt get to 197 pts on carnival without quite a few cruises pre covid. ..those deals are gone. Everyone has the travel bug. I sure hope carnival doesnt cut any more food wise. Lol I'll make my own bed if I have to. Haha. I'm solo and not messy. ..

I already bought the condo there a uber ride from the port. Yea insurance is 3 X normal. I used to live in boca raton and moved to texas to drive my parents but both passed away. My mom had a stroke this past January. I'm still dealing with paperwork and need to get thru it and taxes next year then I hope to move there permanently. It sounded like a good idea lol to move to a small town, oceanfront for cheap and cruise as much as I wanted. Then the cruise prices went nuts. Mardi gras is there, no cheap 7 days from carnival and wonder omg. The port says it's very popular. Lol. Wonder just was oversold for the 3rd time. Offering sweet deals for refunds and free cruise later. Rcl model of how many will cancel is off, selling too many gtys. The joke is they are more like a airline. So my choices are much newer ships which I love. Who wouldnt want mardi gras and wonder as choices. The prices I dont love. I dont even care about service. I'm more of a foodie. Give me more food choices. Mardi gras does that. ..so newer ships are better, but not prices is my answer. Cant compare to before covid.

When does pizza stop? Is it 3 am. I planned to get a lot of pizza during my 14 days. I like carnivals white pizza. I did vista and b2b on breeze but have dream booked. Going to miss getting lobster rolls in the fish place. Its indian tandoori on dream. Fewer pay restaurants to eat at my next carnival cruise. Wish they sold dining pkg. January will be here before I know it. Of course there are cutbacks. Every line is complaining. And prices higher and higher. Lol me too. Someone wrote sept 17 was sold out so I went to look and only ov sold out but the prices oh my. Insides showed over 1k per person. Even with my solo discount showed like 1550 plus tax and fees for a inside. ..for sept typically a cheap month. I was shocked. OVs also sold out for harmony sept 24. I didnt know OVs were so popular this far in advance. Sept is high hurricane season ...and prices so high??!! I hadnt been bothering to check so didnt realize how crazy high prices were.

You can use uber or lyft to the terminal from the hotel which is what I do. I know uber isnt official at the port until may 1st but I have been already using it.

It could be new that you can no longer use vouchers for the milk shakes. I just saw it posted today as NEW. Just because you could before doesnt mean going forward you can. Who knows if its ship specific but that letter says JR excluded. Nothing to do with being smart or dumb.
