  1. What ships have you seen how long before and which balconies did you like? Maybe if we knew that we would be able to give you advice as to what kind of balcony you might like on the different Celebrity ships. Off the bat, I would say avoid the e-class ships so called “infinite balconies” which are merely windows that can be opened.
  2. No, not anymore. Now when you do your online check-in, either on the website or on the app, you choose a boarding time. The entire boarding procedure is much quicker than you remember it and you won’t run into long lines in the terminal. In just a few minutes you should be checked in and on your way to the ship. The only ones who have the ability to board anytime are suite passengers and zeniths.
  3. When I book on board the booking goes immediately to the travel agent but I take it this is not the case here. did you book a specific stateroom and date? The fare you booked should be locked in. I would get ahold of the intended agency and put them on the case. After all, they are interested in securing that commission
  4. Have there been any California coastal itineraries since the change eliminating Monterey has been made?
  5. It would help if you would tell us the ports. Some approaches are very interesting to watch. The ship may have to wind its way through several islands. It may even turn around and pull in backwards. Other ports are not so interesting. The docking procedure, where the lines connecting the ship to the pier are sent out can be fascinating to watch. If you are up very very early you might even see the pilot boat come to deliver the pilot. Watch how he transfers from that boat to the ship. That usually takes place an hour or so ahead of the docking,But again that is very dependent on the local conditions. If you don’t see him come onto the ship watch for him to leave after you depart
  6. I believe that in room babysitting was limited to some upper suites only but please ask on board because as time has passed since the restart it may be something they will offer again. It was a way for some staff members to make extra money so it may be allowed again now. As I recall, it was quite expensive because it required two staff members, since they never wanted to have just one alone with the child As to age limit, I would not only look at the app. Information there is truncated. Go to the website.
  7. Whenever You need to have a gross infraction dealt with, remember that the kids who hand out the towels and the bar staff aren’t the ones to deal with it. Always get an officer or security.
  8. If you book Aqua and your dining room is Blu you may not invite any guest to dine there with you; however someone who is in a suite may request to dine with you in Blu at no charge on a space available basis. if you book a suite and your dining room is Luminae, you may invite anyone to dine with you there for a fee. Again, This is on a space-available basis. A suite guest should look up on this as a once or twice a cruise privilege, not an every night thing.
  9. In Florida, you won’t find a suite line anymore. Suites and zeniths have their own entrance to the terminal building. A greeter there will have a list of people who are authorized to use that entrance and if your name is not on the list, they will politely send you to the other entrance so that’s what would happen to your family. Forego the suite entrance and board with them if you want to be together.
  10. There is so much metal on the ship it interferes with the use of walkie-talkies. Most people who have tried them don’t bring them a second time.
  11. and here you go Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. The only thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. You need a credit card for that. Also, there may be some card game in the casino with a cash only buy-in. And if they do a fundraiser, like selling t-shirts to “save the reefs” and the like, expect to need cash for that. Otherwise, here you go: *Acupuncture *Airport transfers *Alcove Rental (some ships) *Apple products etc. and Ilounge classes *Art Auction Purchases *Babysitting *Barber Shop services *Behind the Scenes Tours *Beverages -- Alcoholic, carbonated soft drinks, specialty coffees and teas, bottled water — if not in your package, also beverages above your package limits *Bingo and Deal or No Deal *Bottles of wine *Casino *Chef’s Table *Corkage charged if you bring your own bottles of wine to the MDR *Duty free liquor and cigarettes *Extra cost entrees and other items in Main Dining Room and specialty restaurants *Extend Your Stay program *Fitness classes *Flowers *Gelato *Gift shop souvenirs, purses, watches, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry, etc. *Gratuities, and extra gratuities *Guests dining with you in Luminae (applies to Suite Passengers only) *Guest entertainers' CD's and DVD's *Hair and nail salon *Hollywood hot glass experiences (some ships) *Internet if not in your package, also Internet upcharges *Laundry/pressing/drycleaning *Liquor Tasting events *Luggage Valet *Martini Flights *Medical Center purchases *Mini bar *Portrait photo sessions *Pay-per-view movies *Persian Gardens passes *Personal Training Sessions *Photos & cameras *Room service up charge items, and late night delivery fee *Ryde spinning classes *Shore Excursions *Shuttle to town (some ports) *Spa -- massages and treatments *Specialty restaurants *Teeth Whitening *Telephone calls using ship's system *Transfer to another passenger's account *Voyage in Review DVD *Wine and liquor tastings *Zumba
  12. You need to talk to staff on board when parents are not following the rules.
  13. You get Select status now but are starting from scratch to accumulate Captains Club points which need to be earned on Celebrity to advance to higher tiers
  14. I will bet that the doctor has staff to handle such things and all he needs to do is add a signature, so if it is a medical issue, you should definitely involve the doctors office
  15. Somethings wrong here because there’s no reason for the bar staff to be involved in a cabin crawl that I know of.
  16. Did they do it when the ship was full or when the ship was nearly empty? It makes a big difference. Was the ship fully staffed or short staffed? That makes another diffeeence. This is a case where the experience of one cruiser doesn’t necessarily transfer forward to another cruiser on another date
  17. Was this a lift and shift situation ? Or were you applying FCC to the new cruise?
  18. Or to the Friends of Bill meeting to consider whether you should be drinking at all. I mean if we want to come up with a conspiracy theories, there are lots. here’s another one— maybe they want people without drinks packages to see how much it costs to pay-as-you-go so they will be packages after all.
  19. If you want something in writing, it will certainly be the official policy which will be “no” You are asking for exceptions, “maybes” and you will never see that in writing.
  20. Elite Plus can get cappuccino, caffe latte, etc at Cafe Al Bacio as an included perk
  21. The app is, even on its best days, unreliable 😢
  22. Different wines for different restaurants and bars….there’s not just one wine list
  23. I don’t know how any of us could answer that…..
